<quoted text>It seems that no amount of Bush-on-steroids policy and politics can enrage the popular masses of America. Even when signs of resistance emerge, like in Occupy Wall Street, Barack Obama escapes blame. American progressives, liberals, and Black misleaders will defend Obama as the “lesser-evil” in comparison to the GOP and it doesn’t matter one bit what he does. Many voters felt compelled to use the “lesser-evil” excuse in the 2012 election for a variety of reasons, all of which disregard what he has wrought. This is what makes him so valuable to those who have shaped and branded his legacy: the ruling oligarchs and elites of Wall Street, multinational corporations, the corporate media, and the opportunist Black misleaders and white liberals who defend him at all costs.
It is year five of their brand’s collective abuse and we are tossing and turning in our slumber. Eventually, products wear out and consumers become dissatisfied with their current level of function or value. But it will not be enough to simply cease from believing that the Obama Administration contributed anything positive to the interests of anyone but those in power. Although Obama is branded as a commodity, he is a politician in the flesh. Politicians act in the interest of the powerful in a capitalist state. We should treat them as such.
maybe. maybe this.....

Teflon Presidents and the Rally Effect

....The more generally satisfied the public is with a president, the easier it is for him to absorb the damage from failures. In the event of attacks on Americans, a reasonably popular president is going to receive the benefit of the doubt whether he deserves it or not. Unlike Carter, whose reputation was daily taking a beating as the hostage crisis dragged on month after month, Reagan and Obama didn’t have to endure the constant drip-drip of negative coverage that such a prolonged problem brought with it. It also helped that Reagan and Obama could point to successes, whether here or overseas, that gave most of the public confidence that they generally seemed to know what they were doing.

Oh I'll let it pass and just assume you've never been around when this particular lie was vetted.
The Illinois bill in question was almost identical to the existing federal ban on partial birth abortions the key difference being a back door the anti-abortionists snuck into it that could have been exploited to ban abortions entirely. Its the sneaky, lying kind of crap the "Christian" right is known for.
Carol for one has been schooled on this a number of times but in typical Carol fashion, down but never beaten she trots the same ol' crap out again once the dust has settled.
You can practically hear the hand-wringing when you read her posts.
All part of her entertaining character.
Yup; they're like the Rainman. Same old shyt over and over and over again.
On a lighter note; Bristol Palin is on Wife Swapping with Joan Rivers. Not quite sure how that worked out since she's not married; but she's taking the place of Joan Rivers daughter with her son and vice versa. Joan Rivers daughter got stuck with Trig and Willow; they took her "muddin'" Little Trig is a brat who doesn't listen to anyone and runs the house.
Bristol made Kraft macaroni and cheese for Joan Rivers grandson; on paper plates.
These people are disgusting, but it was good for a chuckle.

How the Pro-Life Movement Defeats Itself

Americans hold contradictory views on abortion—which is why emotional persuasion, not no-exceptions logic, is most effective.

sure doesn't.

so call your congressman and tell him that the 'national security' BS from the last 13 years needs to stop.

but i figure if you didn't call him when Bush was in office you probably won't call him now.

DOH! I forgot, now that we have a radical in the White House a higher unemployment number is a good thing and so is lower GDP to help the government gain more control of our lives. We also must pass all bills now before reading them. Silly me!

Well...and I really hate to break it to you...but I agreed with everything you said in that post...most of it anyway since I can't recall every single word...but that means for one brief moment in time, we were on the same page.

Obama did not vote for or against it. This claim does nothing to support Obama. If it was horrible, why not a vote against?
Since Carol introduced the topic I know the law she's referring to, not sure you're talking about the same thing.

So you have nothing to offer in the way of Obama's past leadership accomplishments except upsetting Americans while he's learning on the job?
What are you saying exactly LNC?
Surely, you wouldn't have voted for someone without any past accomplishments in a leadership capacity.
So instead of constantly reminding me libraries have books, why don't you tell me why you voted for Obama based on his past leadership accomplishments?
I promise to be openminded.
Sure this comes from someone who supported Mitt Romney who did such a bang up job as Massachusetts chief executive that he left office with a 37% approval rating. A guy who made his fortune by wrecking companies like Dade International and destroying the lives of their employees.
I voted for Obama because his policies are designed to help the middle class and stimulate jobs rather than the GOP whose aim was to further enrich the already wealthy on the backs of the poor and middle class.
