Thanks to your Republicans, Galt.
The US corporate tax rate is the highest in the world. Reduce the rate or suffer the consequences.

By the way, what do you think would happen if you decided to tax US corporations on foreign-made profits?

Call me naive, but I don't understand how the entire civilized world is unable to collectively stop the atrocities in Syria.
And why they were unable to do the same in Rwanda and Darfur.
Isn't there enough military power collectively to put a quick and swift end to this kind of suffering?
What exactly is the purpose of the UN besides wringing their hands?
Are you saying you are in favor of the United States to get involved in a civil war in Syria? There is no such thing as a quick end to suffering; what would you suggest? Bombing them to smithereens? There are over a half million refugees in Lebanon from Syria; let the other Arab nations feed them. Russia, Iran and China are backing the President. Let them figure it out.

<quoted text>Food assistance. Here's a story for you. At 7 AM this morning there are blocks of blacks lining up to get food assistance that they supposedly lost in the flood, mind you they don't have to show any proof that they were flooded. Now do you think they are working? they will be standing in line all day. Last time there was a flood, there were people who didn't even live in the area that was flooded, some lived at high up as the 20th floor and yet others had no food in their house at the time. It is a disgrace what these people do. This is O'bama Nation-we deserve it.

The Heat Delivers a Moment to Remember
The jump shot from LeBron James went into the net with 27.9 seconds left and, as soon as it did, he pumped his fist with a winner's look, a champion's look, as the noise you'd only heard once before shook AmericanAirlines Arena.
San Antonio's season was finally fading, and the Heat's star was rising, again, in this 95-88 win in Game 7 of the NBA Finals.
They won with LeBron scoring 37 points. They won with Dwyane Wade answering questions with 23 points. They won with Shane Battier making six 3-point shots — as many shots as he'd made in the previous six Finals games.
They won against a San Antonio team full of deserving Hall of Famers, who kept matching the Heat shot for shot Thursday night, moment for moment, until LeBron's jumper gave a four-point cushion.
They won.
Congrats to you and your Heat. FU Galt.

Editorial: Good riddance to hate-spewing GOP county boss
It took a while, but Republican U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis of Illinois finally got it. When your political friends spew hate, you had better call it for what it is.
On Tuesday night a Davis supporter, Montgomery County Republican Party Chairman Jim Allen, fired off an astonishingly ugly email to a Web news editor about Erika Harold, the former Miss America who plans to run against Davis next year in the GOP primary in the 13th Congressional District.
....On Thursday, as the email got more attention around and outside Illinois, local and national Republican leaders slowly came to realize they had a problem. Allen resigned his local party post on Thursday afternoon, around the same time Illinois Republican Party Chairman Jack Dorgan and Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus called for him to do so, almost a day and a half after the email surfaced.
Davis amped up his response to reporters Thursday, calling for Allen to step down and describing the comments as "inane and asinine" and "appalling and demeaning."
There's a longer list of adjectives for Allen's remarks, but we'll leave it at that.
If the Illinois GOP doesn't recognize the self-inflicted damage caused by partisans who disparage anyone who doesn't look or act like a traditional Republican, well, party officials won't have to scratch their heads as to why they keep losing elections.

The House’s rejection of the farm bill by a 195 to 234 vote on Thursday was a stunning defeat for Speaker John Boehner, who supported the legislation and brought it to the House floor for a vote. Mr. Boehner was unable to win support from 62 Republicans on the party’s conservative fringe, who cast no votes because they believed the $20.5 billion cut in the food stamps program did not go deep enough. Nearly all Democrats also voted no because that draconian cut would have eliminated food assistance for nearly two million people.
It appears some Democrats, who might have voted for the House bill, were repelled by a last-minute Republican amendment that added a punitive work requirement to food stamp eligibility rules. That came on top of an offensive amendment Republicans pushed through on Wednesday to authorize states to conduct drug testing of food stamp applicants, despite studies showing they are no more likely than nonbeneficiaries to be using drugs.

A Hew Hampshire state representative resigned Thursday after alleging that the Boston Marathon bombing was a government conspiracy, WMUR reported.
State Rep. Stella Tremblay (R) sent in her letter of resignation to the New Hampshire House of Representatives a day after she sent an e-mail blast to colleagues with links to Boston Marathon bombing conspiracy blogs and videos.
"Have you seen ANY main stream media doing a follow-up on these stories? I have not. I just connect the dots," wrote Tremblay in the e-mail, according to WMUR. "Apparently, it is very dangerous to seek truth, or ask questions."
Tremblay first floated her theory that the marathon bombings were planted by the government to sideline civil liberties in April. Her colleagues in the House responded by voting to fully rebuke her remarks.

but when you start quoting Glenn Beck: the end is near.
The government was too busy spying on ordinary American citizens to follow up on two terrorists identified by the Russian government, instead rewarding one of them with US citizenship.

Perhaps not a government conspiracy, but the result of government incompetence and neglect.

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney said in May that he’d written off votes from 47 percent of Americans who are collecting government aid. Turns out many of them are part of his political base.

Seventy percent of counties with the fastest-growth in food-stamp aid during the last four years voted for the Republican presidential candidate in 2008, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data compiled by Bloomberg. They include Republican strongholds like King County, Texas, which in 2008 backed Republican John McCain by 92.6 percent, his largest share in the nation; and fast-growing Douglas County, Colorado.
