Whatever wants to punish the children by taking away their food if their parents don't work.
The purpose of SNAP is to help make sure children, the disabled, etc have food.
That is totally lame and shameful-aka the typical Progressive talking point.

Consumer price index

You got things a bit wrong here. President Obama doesn't oppose other alternatives to linking CPI to Social Security benefit increases, but it was just one of many proposals he is willing to consider with republicans to get them to talk about reforming Social Security rather than trashing it altogether.

It is an easy concept.
Still being interpretive.

Why can't you simply accept the facts instead of fighting them son?

Oh that's right, it makes you a liar otherwise.

One black woman stated the obvious - what many liberals said at the time - about why were there no blacks at the Tea Party rallies. She pointed out there were no blacks at the Occupy Wall Street protests either.
"(BALTIMORE, MD) NAACP president and CEO Benjamin Todd Jealous released the following statement on the Occupy Wall Street movement:

“We are encouraged by the broad national support and by the great diversity of Americans who have been participating in the Occupy Wall Street campaign. The movement and the peaceful protesters who are a part of the campaign share many of the same goals as the NAACP.”

“The NAACP shares the protesters’ concerns about the growing disparity in the access to wealth in America, and the decline of economic opportunity for poor and middle class Americans. For over 102 years we have supported the policies which create, preserve and expand living wage jobs, increase economic opportunity and protect the right of every American to build and retain wealth and equity.”

The Catholic Church helps the poor for all the right reasons with a hands on approach and without forcably taking its members money.
It's done voluntarily - the way helping the poor was intended.
Not being funny but, when you die, can you take money with you? Does good accept payment to get into heaven? The Catholic church, along with every other religious org that asks for money is the biggest money scheme since the creation of man. They're rich out of this world yet asks you to pay tithes weekly &, you're actually the one in need of help. What they do for the poor is minimal compared to the money they take in.

Pauld Deen isn't just an "old white woman from the south" who doesn't comprehend political correctness. Ignorance is no excuse. Her claim that her use of the N-word wasn't meant to be cruel or mean doesn't excuse her behavior.

Anyone with a brain knows that, in this day and age, the use of the N-word by white people is an ethnic slur. I think she, just like Detective Mark Fuhrman, is a liar when she claims that she hasn't used the term since the '80's. Fox News also uses Mark Fuhrman as a commentator and I guarantee you Fox News will defend her blindly.

Is the tea party funded by the democrats out of gratitude?
Other than getting robbed by the IRS, the lives of Republicans are little affected by politics. We don't depend on the government for much of anything.

Given that taxes are the primary issue, what is the point of big-government Republicans?

Nope. People have been cheating on their taxes for years rather than pay their fair share. Time to get even by changing the tax code and cracking down on tax evaders so that Wall Street players and corporations support the country instead of themselves.
Many tax cheats are low income folks who work off the books.

Wanna crack down on them?

I always find it amazing that the conservative right demonizes illegal immigrants, complaining of how much of a parasite they are on our society, but they never mention the people/industries that hire them and make a pretty penny exploiting them.

Governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts had a great outreach program for women who wanted an abortion. It was called 'Romneycare'. "[Romneycare]...It explicitly provided government funding of abortion. The Massachusetts health care reform established a government funded program, Commonwealth Care, that includes coverage of abortion. Commonwealth Care was made available for free to everyone in the Bay State who was below the poverty line and subsidized participation was made available to those above the poverty line."
