In the case of food stamps/EBT cards, because we taxpayers are paying for their food when our own budgets are strained.

This trial demonstrates how badly Obama has screwed up the military.
The Muslim terrorist should have been tried and executed within a few months.
I get it, God forbid we take out an America citizen hiding in Yemen sending bombers to blow up Americans but lets execute this American Citizen after a mock trial in a kangaroo court.

My God, Flack, comparing Obama to death camps. You right whiners get more ridiculous every day.
Issa & his gang of idiots don't give a crap whether the IRS did this or what really happened in Benghazi.
They only care if they can somehow tie Obama to something.

That really is the bottom line. Republican witch hunters always come out of the woodwork when their man isn't in office. Unfortunately, GOP scandal-mongering has won them elections in the past and they are not likely to find morality now.

Issa is a joke and has been for years. He had to give up his desire to run for Governor of California when it was reported that he had:

- Been arrested for carrying a concealed weapon.(Issa pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of possession of an unregistered gun.)

- Indicted on grand theft for conspiring to sell his car, report it as stolen and collect insurance on it.

- Investigated for arson when his car-alarm factory was intentionally torched, after he conveniently quadrupled his insurance coverage and Issa removed the company’s Apple II computer, hardware and account record from the building.(The insurance company settled for only $20,000 instead of the $462,000 covernage. Guess that was far less expensive than taking Issa to court.)

- He lied about his military record by saying that he was part of an elite bomb detecting unit that guarded President Nixon at the 1971 World Series. That never happened but it was disclosed that Issa He had a bad conduct rating and was demoted.

This pretty much explains why John Boehner put Issa in charge of investigating government wrongdoing. Republicans needed someone without integrity to further the GOP agenda to sabotage the Obama presidency.

Schulman could have answered the question and put the issue to bed.

Instead, he chose to tell Congress to go f*ck itself.

It's not poor people. I know plenty of poor people who pay their own way. There was a time when people were ashamed to ask for help. Now it is flaunted and expected as owed to them. It's mostly people who made bad life choices and now expect me to pay for them. At least Virginia has spread the dates out so the first is no longer a nightmare. Depending on the last number of your card you have a certain date that it renews. The big crush on the first is gone.

It's an unbelievable injutice to the victims who will be cross-examined by the same terrorist who tried to kill them.

It's too hard to even get your head around.

It's like pouring salt on their wounds after being completely ignored by this president and his failed promise of denying them benefits.

<quoted text>Isn't he an American citizen? Have you all heard of this thing call the U.S. Constitution? Go read up on the 6th Amendment.
The Right To Be Your Own Lawyer
The Sixth Amendment of the United States Constitution guarantees certain rights for someone accused of a crime:
•a speedy and public trial
•a trial by jury
•complete notice of the accusation
•confrontation of witnesses
•calling witnesses on one's behalf
•assistance of counsel
•self-representation
Self-representation is not mentioned in the Constitution and the courts have placed limits on this practice.

Amendment VI
In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.
That said, military courts operate under different rules than civilian courts. The accused has no right to use the court as a propaganda platform. Judges in both civilian and military courts have fairly wide latitude to exclude irrelevant testimony. They also have the right to terminate self-representation if necessary to assure a fair trial. This court has been far too tolerant of the unreasonable demands of the terrorist.
So he has the right to self represent and to question his accusers and any witnesses? You've said nothing different.

Yes, as a U.S. citizen he still has rights. Write your congress person have them get rid of the 6th Amendment if you don't like it. The law is the law it cannot be changed for your personal satisfaction.

Typical Rethug. You've got nothing to offer in the way of factual discussion so just spew nonsense because you like to hear yourself talk.

We wouldn't be in this mess if we hadn't blindly supported Israel and their terrorist tactics which angered the entire Arab world. Egypt is a soverign nation. If they want to support the Muslim Brotherhood so be it. If Israel doesn't like it. So be it. Let them work it out and leave the United States out of it.
