Taking a jab at coal miners while living in a coal county.
Did you hear about the county in Oregon whose lumber industry died due to spotted owls and another critter leaving the county with 80,000 residents and no way to fund services.
Boner would not be hearing or reading about that. The Ministry of Propaganda (Democrats/COrrupt Media) have not approved that story.

A lady who called police and reported a break in by someone that previously beat her was told sorry, we don't have any law enforcement people that can help you.

Now that is "Democrats in action" for you! They also want to take away guns. Amazing.

Congress has the authority to hold a person in contempt if the person's conduct or action obstructs the proceedings of Congress or, more usually, an inquiry by a committee of Congress.
Contempt of Congress is defined in statute, 2 U.S.C.A. 192, enacted in 1938, which states that any person who is summoned before Congress who "willfully makes default, or who, having appeared, refuses to answer any question pertinent to the question under inquiry" shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to a maximum $1,000 fine and 12 month imprisonment.

You're joking right?

Libby was indicted by a grand jury and convicted in a court of law by a jury of his, cough, peers.

Didn't Shrub pardon the little twit?

Should have taken Rove and Cheney down with him.

The question was Patrick's assertion that food stamps were being tracked by political affiliation, not when the program started.

Plame never verified the yellow cake story. Wilson said there was no evidence. It matched earlier investigations.
The CIA asked Bush to renove the yellow cae story rom fis State of the Union speech in 2003.
Lets review.
The military tried to verify this story but came back saying it was unlikely.
Wilson was sent by the CIA & said it was not true.
The CIA asked Bush to remove the yellow cake story from his 20003 State of the union.
Conclusions:
The CIA never verified the Yellow Cake story.
So, Mr Dumbwaiter how did Bush know about this story??? According to you, Bush only received vetted intel.
Well Golly Geez, I guess this makes you a liar & a dumbass once again.
RealDave you live in Dumb Ville even the 9/11 committee found Wilson testimony on Yellow Cake (Not Creditable) another words he Lied!!

But lying under oath at a Congressional hearing is perjury, the same as in a court.
And refusing to testify if granted immunity is contempt of Congress, with the same penalties as contempt of court.
The only difference is that Congress makes its own rules.
Realtime is a Democrat. He cannot make the association that they are in fact the exact same crime.

Without the draft there would not have been a Vietnam War, at least not of the same size and duration.
By the way, do you have any statistics whatsoever to support your assertions about who was drafted and who served? Or are you just repeating your prejudices?
76% Of the men sent to Vietnam were from lower middle/working class backgrounds

Three fourths had family incomes above the poverty level; 50% were from middle income backgrounds..

Some 23% Of Vietnam Vets had fathers with proffessional, managerial, or technical occupations.

88.4% Of the men who actually served in Vietnam were Caucasian; 10.6%(275,000) were Black; 1% belonged to other races.

86.3% Of the men who died in Vietnam were Caucasian (Includes Hispanics); 12.5%(7,241) Were Black; 1.2% Belonged to other races.

170,000 Hispanics served in Vietnam; 3,070 (5.2% Of total) died there.

70% Of enlisted men killed were of Northwest European Descent.

86.8% Of the men who were killed as a result of hostile action were Caucasian; 12.1%(5,711) Were Black; 1.1% Belonged to other races.

14.6%(1,530) Of Non-Combat deaths were among Blacks.

34% OF Blacks who enlisted volunteered for the combat arms.

Overall , Blacks suffered 12.5% of the deaths in Vietnam at a time when the % of Blacks of military age was 13.5% of the total population.

as far as politicians serving, nothing but anecdotal but it is interesting.

BTW I was nearing draft age towards the end of the war, had had friends who were drafted and friends who avoided the draft throught the National Guard. The only friends I had that got in the guard were because of Daddy's connections
