If you don't think conservative groups and average citizens were "targeted" because of their political ideology by the climate set by this administration and the opposition being the "enemy", you are out of the loop and on your own. But good luck with that.

frontporch goes French.

The IG report states that conservative groups were targeted. The POTUS agrees with the report and states it is wrong.

So do we believe the moronic Progressives or reality?

The nation believes reality -the IRS targeted conservative groups.

Progressives are lemmings that are easily fooled by some shady website.

The definition of common good is "the advantage or benefit of all people in society or in a group."

Used in context: In spite of our differences, we shall work for the common good.

The common good in this society - the advantage and benefit of all people - is equal opportunity.

It means we all have to work and pull our own weight to have those advantages and benefits and give back to help those in need through no fault of their own. Bad times can fall on anyone until they're back on their feet again.

But it only works when the government isn't stifling opportunity.

Think it's the other way around. Republicans await with open arms to receive anyone who desires independence from big government and sees government as the problem rather than the solution.

But too many have bought into the lies and people generally have to figure this out for themselves.

Republicans know they have to work harder to get the right message to all the people and not just assume they are all brainwashed.

Oh my Gawd the old Sandy Berger story again! Sandy Berger took copies not original documents which are still in the National Archives and still available to the 9/11 Commission.
As to the testimony before the 9/11 Commission Bush and Cheney insisted that they be interviewed together and that no recording be made. Clinton and Gore were also interviewed but separately and their testimony was recorded.
If there is an active criminal investigation going on then the best thing to say is nothing. Lerner was invoking her rights under the Constitution. Your beloved Rick Scott when deposed as to his role as CEO of Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corp as part of a Medicaid fraud investigation invoked his Fifth Amendment rights 75 times.
That's funny. Because every source about the Sandy Berger mysterious theft caper said certain documents were still missing in the 9/11 commissioner's report. Berger tried to justify stealing them by using that excuse.

But the question remains: If copies of those documents were readily available, why did Berger take such a risk stuffing them in his socks and pants from the National Archives?

Republicans only want citizens to have independence from gov't. They however love corporate welfare.....
all those subsidies to the gas and oil companies, even though they make billions
then there are the farm subsidies, paying large farming corporations not to grow food or used to boost crop prices
those hand outs to big pharma

the republican leadership isn't brainwashed, but they certainly know how to brain wash their supporters....

and course when there's a disaster, they are in line for Federal relief....juat go to Moore Oklahoma

they only want to limit funding for FEMA when the disaster isn't n their state

So what was going on with the IRS Carol? I'll tell you. The staff in the Cincinnati office were doing their jobs the best they could considering the flood of 401C applications and the limited resources they had. The IRS is required to determine whether organizations applying for special tax status are "social welfare" groups or are instead engaged in political activity. Political groups cannot get the special tax status these groups were applying for.
Only one-third of the groups that were passed to specialists for a closer look were "conservative." Lots of other organizations were also checked, including progressive organizations.
No conservative organizations were denied their tax exempt status.
Just another phony "scandal" cooked up by the right wing and swallowed whole by gullible fools like you.
I think the Obama administration was wrong to fire or suspend anybody in this case.
Somebody has to tell you this. It might as well be me. You are much too gullible for your own good.

If this was just a rightwing phony scandal, democrats wouldn't be condemning it as loudly and, in some cases, even more loudly than conservatives.

Neither would 60% of Americans say the GOP is handling the scandals appropriately.

More hearings are scheduled next week and the weeks following with bigger fish having to testify under oath. More whistleblowers are also expected to emerge in the ensuing weeks.

This is just the beginning.

In a normal universe, there is no possible way Obama could have won that reelection based on the economy and jobs.

It was the invisible "wars" on women, on classes, on gays and race that put him back where he never should have been the first time.

Up until the election, no one even entertained the idea on either side there was a war on anybody.

Just like now since the election is over. We're once again focused on the main priorities. Of course, we're now focused on all these scandals. But, then again, what goes around, comes around and we reap what we sow.

(More democrats voted down gay marriage in some states remember.)

You can't be so naive to believe all republicans are pro-life.

Just like you can't be so naive to believe all democrats are pro-choice.

An overwhelming majority of Americans would have to on board for a republican-controlled administration to overturn Roe v Wade.

They tried it once and had the votes but many feared the backlash because Americans were still deeply divided.

Republicans don't pass major legislation affecting all Americans by a strict partisan vote like democrats, i.e. Obamacare.
