Thanks, Patrick, but we don't need the New York Times to verify what anybody familiar with the area knows by virtue of having been there.

Companies buy other companies and shut down the unprofitable portions every day.

For some companies, like Hostess Bakeries, the brand name and products are the only valuable assets. The physical facilities and employee contracts are liabilities that are larger than the assets.

Hence, bankruptcy.

Pickering, the author of the original Benghazi report, is scheduled for a close door hearing June 3. This man is the one who wrote the bogus Benghazi report and claimed there was no need to interview anyone but career employees as the mess was their fault. Since this claim, it has been discovered that Patrick Kennedy- higher up the chain- was involved.
Pickering not likely to lie under oath.

But maybe take the Fifth?

Just as Lois Lerner was unwilling to testify/lie, a bad sign for Obama.

You left out that we are at 400 ppm CO2 now as opposed the the critical target where the world was going to end at 350.org So you have about 15 years at most to enjoy that big a$$ truck then its all over. Millions of illegal's will be coming looking for food & shelter and your crops will be devastated as well. Expect a few more super storms this summer while you keep filling up with cheap gas.

She can be held in contempt,” Dershowitz told “the Steve Malzberg Show” on Newsmax TV.“Congress ... can actually hold you in contempt and put you in the Congressional jail.”"
Much like Judith Miller for refusing to reveal her source, although that was in Federal Court.

Citizens keep building on flood plains, on eroding shorelines, in the path of reoccurring hurricanes, inside of Tornado Alleys, on the sides of hills known for their mudslides......and the American taxpayer keeps on paying for their stupidity while CNN keeps filming their suffering. It sells.
New Orleans sits below sea level and we keep fixing those damned levies and pumps so that the ho's can keep plying their trade on Bourbon Street and the rats don't have to wear Life Vests. New Orleans should have been given back to the fish and the alligators 100 years ago.
Anyone who chooses to live in harm's way should shoulder the exorbitant insurance and Search & Rescue costs or get the hell out.
The one difference is that "Tornado Alley" is virtually the entire Midwest and Plains region, producing most of the food supply for not only the US, but much of the rest of the world.

So it is impossible to abandon this region.

Obama Administration's Media Surveillance Unleashes Wave Of Condemnation

The Justice Department's investigation and surveillance of the Associated Press and Fox News have led to
perhaps
the most sustained wave
of criticism <-
for the Obama administration's media policies
since the president took office.[:D]

On Wednesday, the New York Times became one of the more influential voices to say

what many others have been saying:

that the administration's methods are an attack on press freedom.

In a *scathing* editorial, the Times wrote that, "With the decision to label a Fox News television reporter a possible 'co-conspirator' in a criminal investigation of a news leak, the Obama administration has moved beyond protecting government secrets to threatening fundamental freedoms of the press to gather news."

Food bowls are useless without reliable weather, you and the rest of the deniers of global warming are getting past the point of no return. All because stupid conservatives won't accept the science if it hurts their pockets. Well warming will do a lot more than burn a hole in your pocket.

House Speaker John A. Boehner on Thursday flatly ruled out chances of the House passing the Senate’s immigration bill, saying his chamber will debate its own bill instead.

The Ohio Republican and his top lieutenants in the party issued a joint statement that seemed designed to tamp down some of the momentum behind the Senate bill, which emerged from a committee on a bipartisan 13-5 vote this week, and to stake out a House GOP position.

“While we applaud the progress made by our Senate colleagues, there are numerous ways in which the House will approach the issue differently,” the Republican leaders said in their statement.“The House remains committed to fixing our broken immigration system, but we will not simply take up and accept the bill that is emerging in the Senate if it passes. Rather, through regular order, the House will work its will and produce its own legislation.”

In the past, bankruptcies where employees lost everything was more a taboo issue.

Today, it's a bargaining chip and a liability that disappears with something as simple as a merger.

Clearly, survival is not longer the objective.

Employees lose jobs (but not "everything") every day, like when the EPA issues adverse rulings that require plant shutdowns.

A company loses a large contract to a competitor and people lose their jobs, even though the company remains viable.

When were bankruptcies ever a "taboo issue"?

Your fixation on Fox is amusing, given that most Conservatives use a wide variety of news sources and prefer the Obama media in order to understand the thinking of the opposition.

Knock yourself out.
