The lawyer wasn't talking-the witness was.
Exactly. Just like when the Brentwood Slasher demonstrated to the jury that the gloves were a very snug fit gave up his 5th Amendment rights when he did that.

Two Virginia women are being charged with inducing an abortion using herbs they purchased at a local supplement store, according to Norfolk-based WTKR-TV.
The women are Jessica Carpenter, 20, and Rachel Lowe, 27. Court documents allege that Lowe, a former employee of the Tidewater Women’s Clinic in Norfolk, helped Carpenter induce a miscarriage at six months into her pregnancy using a combination of herbs.
Lea Smith, one of their mutual friends, told WTKR-TV that she heard them discussing an induced miscarriage. She contacted police when the infant died after being born prematurely.
Virginia law considers self-inducing an abortion a Class 4 felony, carrying a jail sentence of no less than two years and no more than 10, along with a fine of up to $100,000.

Sounds like the traditional "back-alley" abortion, which you apparently support.

Do you so-called feminists ever ask why Obama picked on Lois Lerner to take the blame instead of a really slimy worm like Steven Miller?
Probably because Miller was smart enough to refuse to be the pigeon.
No one is blaming Lois Lerner or Steven Miller of anything except maybe not ccing the White House enough .

<quoted text>What will you say about the five IRS workers in the Cincinnati branch office being called to testify although Darrell Issa won't say why they're being called just that none of them are being accused of any crime?
The purpose of Congressional hearings is fact-finding, after which the facts are passed on to the Department of Justice for any possible criminal prosecution.

Now that IS a joke.

This worked so will for the citizens of Venezuela.
I once posted Chavez's quotes on his rise to power before he got there and became a fascist/communist leader.

If Chavez's name hadn't been attached to those quotes, they could have easily been misinterpreted as Obama's nearly word for word.

Let's see... IRS executes a systematic criminal program. Congress wants to question some IRS employees.
Perhaps they have some information related to the crimes committed, you goddam idiot.

A Democrat on the House’s investigative committee raised the specter of a special prosecutor on Wednesday to investigate political targeting of conservative groups at the IRS from 2010 to 2012.
Rep. Stephen Lynch, Massachusetts Democrat, warned IRS and Treasury Department witnesses before the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform not to stonewall congressional efforts to get to the bottom of the scandal.
“We know where that will lead, it will lead to a special prosecutor.… There will be hell to pay if that’s the route that we choose to go down,” he said.
The Democrat’s reference to a special prosecutor was noteworthy, since the most vocal criticism for the IRS has come from GOP ranks in recent weeks.
The administration is sitting it up so there is no other avenues.

The POTUS came out insisting the IRS engaged in wrong and outrageous behavior he would not tolerate. Then their whole solution was to fire the man who was leaving in June anyway and wasn't there when the events occurred. Those who were directly involved have not been identified and disciplined.

The only solution to the stonewalling is get a special prosecutor.

You can not 'punish' someone for a non-crime unless Lois Lerner and Steven Miller are really Winston Smith in 1984:“What can you do, thought Winston, against the lunatic who is more intelligent than yourself, who gives your arguments a fair hearing and then simply persists in his lunacy?”

This isn't a court of law, Homer. It's a Congressional hearing designed to get answers that directly affect the American people, their rights and a growing mistrust of this government.

Imagine if Dean or Haldeman had pleaded the 5th during the Watergate hearings.

Wise up. You're starting to look more and more like another useful idiot.

I've already explained opening statementsbut, for you I'll go a little further. She doesn't have to have a lawyer 1st of all, tho the judge will appoint her a lawyer for guidance & opinion. So if she gave a statement with a lawyer present, he could be there for those purposes only.

2nd, you can't lose you 5th amendment rights without taking the stand & by law she doesn't have to take the stands for fear of self incrimination. Sharpen up on your law degree. You must've received it in the 1940s!

The President did not 'insist' on anything, he merely made it clear that if such targeting actions took place for partisan intentions then that was 'outrageous' an he would do his best to find out and fix the problem. But, still there is no evidence that the targeting was done for partisan reasons .

I'm posting this again just so some judge-its can kiss my ass.

If Obama and his administraton walk away from this blatant abuse of power, we will have become a fundamentally transformed nation and Obama's longed for one-party system will become a reality.

But just as long as you lefties aren't considered the enemy, right?

You WILL have to deal with joining the ranks of those also recorded as being on the wrong side of history even though most of you won't care anyway.

You'd also be among those Venezeuleans crying and gnashing their teeth that their fascist/communist leader bit the dust too.

Wouldn't surprise me whatsoever.
