"...if they were geniuses as you all seem to think, they would've included a clause that inhibited Congress, or any branch of govt from making more money than the average American."<quoted text> Yes, I have read it you dumass &, it leaves to much open to interpretation. Like I've said, there is no reason it cannot be revised & updated to suit there life & environment, civil & moral lives we live today. Their visions of the world was nothing like today, unless of course, you're saying they were psychic! They were womanizers & racist, & that alone negates any argument you have. There have been far too many amendments to it!
Now to answer your questions. I agree with it all, but if they were geniuses as you all seem to think, they would've included a clause that inhibited Congress, or any branch of govt from making more money than the average American. If they're in a totally different tax bracket than the common man, that alone is a conflict of interest. They will only pass laws that serve the rich, as they are which is the problem we have in America today! There is enough people in the world to have a law that every American rich or poor should be entitled to serve at least 1 year in Congress, no one can serve more than 1 year in a row if my first idea wasn't good enough for you. Then congresses interest will serve the common man because, common men will be running it.
Why? Are you assuming they cannot be more significant to the GENERAL WELFARE of the nation than the average person? Therefore, they should not receive more than the average person?
Should a person who earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering be paid the same as a person who works as an electrician?
You are demonstrating your indoctrination with Marxist ideology.
I've got an idea for you. How about you vote your Congressman out of office if you don't think he's worth the money they are paid. Or, vote him out if you don't like any Congressman getting paid more than the average person. If you change your Congressman often enough, sooner or later you'll get one in there that is capable of changing the system and instituting a pay structure for Congressmen where they are paid the same as the average person.
Oh, yeah. Politicians are routinely notorious thieves. If you pay them less, would you think they will steal more?
I'll tell you why Marxism has never worked, and it is impossible for it to ever work among humans:
Marxism is diametrically opposed to the genetically programmed instinct of humans to stratify their societies.
To force humans into a Marxist system, you must condition them to ignore their genetically programmed human instinct to stratify their societies.
Do you think this is the reason Janet Napolitano is buying more tanks than were landed on D-Day, more machine guns than the Marines had on Iwo Jima, and enough ammunition for both sides to fight World War I for TWENTY years? Do you think she is obviously preparing for a large-scale war to condition the American population to ignore their genetically programmed human instinct, like every other communist dictator did without exception?
