Coleen Rowley: The Special Agent

Since Sept. 11, the 48-year-old had muzzled her grief about the bureaus failures--specifically, about how it ignored cries from her office to take seriously the case of Zacarias Moussaoui, a French-Moroccan who spoke poor English and had signed up at a local flight school, keen to fly a 747. Eight months after the attacks, Rowley and others got a chance to tell what they knew. Staff members of the House and Senate Intelligence Committees joint inquiry into the attacks invited her and others to come to Washington for a private interview.

....But the tough Rowley--the Rowley who packs a gun and takes it everywhere, who moves coatless through Minnesota winters and runs triathlons, who made a habit of correcting her science teacher--has been stung by a nasty backlash within the FBI. In early June, an associate called to say high-level FBI agents in Washington had been overheard discussing possible criminal charges against her. Some fellow agents, retired ones in particular, crucified her. Charles George, then president of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, compared her to convicted spy Robert Hanssen, calling her behavior "unthinkable" in the society newsletter; instead of going to the Russians, she went to Congress.

What's worse these ringers think if they repeat it enough times it may sound like its true. A bit like fairy-tales that get passed down through the ages. But conveniently ignore other facts like a Republican lead congress insisting on reduced funding for Embassy security abroad in the budget. So does that just fly by & never get a mention. GOP & their affiliate Fox tried in vain with Clinton because he liked cigars, they tried with Obama with Ayres & Wright & the Birther crap all of which fell flat on its face.
Then thought Palin would have mass appeal, only to find as a mass turn off. She destroyed Mcain's candidacy who on the whole was a decent guy. Then came Romney, a sock puppet for big business and they wonder why the Bible, Guns and the Flag don't work any more for them.
You have to admit OzRitz - Obama, Hillary and Susan Rice do what they do best LIE.

CNN has now left the Obama steno pool:

Washington (CNN)-- An e-mail discussion about talking points the Obama administration used to describe the deadly attack on the U.S. compound in Benghazi, Libya, show the White House and State Department were more involved than they first said in the decision to remove an initial CIA assessment that a group with ties to al Qaeda was involved, according to CNN sources with knowledge of the e-mails.

After hearing, Republicans say there's more to story

Doomed ambassador:'We're under attack'

The talking points have become a political flashpoint in a long-running battle between the administration and Republicans, who say that officials knew the attack last September 11 was a planned terror operation while they were telling the public it was an act of violence that grew out of a demonstration over a video produced in the United States that insulted Islam.

John King: Benghazi investigation both legitimate and partisan

Paul on Libya: There may be more to this

Mother of Benghazi victim needs answers

Hicks on Libya: Saddest call of my life

That was the story that U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice told five days later when she made the rounds of all five Sunday morning television talk shows.

Obama administration officials have long said that Rice was using official talking points that were edited almost exclusively by the intelligence community.

‘I’m not good at math’: The IRS’ public relations disaster

Posted by Aaron Blake on May 10, 2013 at 2:18 pm

About a half-hour into a conference call with reporters Friday afternoon, senior Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner said something she will regret.

“I’m not good at math,” she confessed as she tried to summon a statistic.

IRS, call your office.

Lerner clarified that she is a lawyer and not an accountant (a fair defense) but the remark instantly blew up on Twitter — an IRS official being bad at math!?— and wound up punctuating what was a torturous response to the IRS’ admission that it inappropriately targeted tea party groups.

Paramedic in Texas plant blast charged with having 'destructive device;' unclear if related

Published May 10, 2013

Associated Press

WACO, Texas – A Texas paramedic who helped evacuate people on the night of the deadly fertilizer plant explosion in West has been arrested and charged with possessing a destructive device.

It's not clear whether the charges are related to the fire or the explosion at the West Fertilizer Co. last month that killed 14 people.

McLennan County Jail booking clerk Brandy Gann says paramedic Bryce Reed arrived at the jail at about 2:40 a.m. Friday and was released to federal agents before 8 a.m.

A fire erupted at the plant the night of April 17 and a massive explosion rocked the town of West about 20 minutes later.

Investigators have largely treated the incident as an industrial accident. But Texas law enforcement officials also launched a criminal investigation Friday.

America is Paying Attention

Cleveland (CNN)-- The first time most of America heard Amanda Berry's voice was on a frantic 911 call.

"I've been kidnapped, and I've been missing for 10 years," the 27-year-old woman said on the call, which was made on Monday.

"And I'm here. I'm free now."

A day later, Berry could be heard again. This time talking to relatives, she seemed positive, even upbeat -- telling her grandmother Fern Gentry that she's "fine" and that the 6-year-old girl also rescued Monday from a Cleveland home is indeed her own.

"I love you honey, thank God," her tearful grandmother said, in a call recorded by CNN affiliate WJHL. "... I've thought about you all this time. I never forgot about you."
