How about the stores that sold outdoor equipment & supplies that have been paying taxes for years. Now their tax dollars go to bringing in competition that will run them out of business.<quoted text>
Attracting a new business to a town with a temporary property tax concession as an incentive creates local employment with attendant increased revenue. The vacant land or buildings were probably creating very little property tax revenue anyway. Down the road they will generate far more.
Let's say a company like Cabela's wants to build a megastore along the interstate in one of two or three rural townships. Why not offer an incentive to attract the development?
Idiots like Dave who want to punish business are the reason we have continued high unemployment.
Keep in mind that we are talking about real businesses, not the kind of scams like Solyndra funded by Obama.
How about companies in that area for decades growing adding jobs & supporting the community for decades. What do they get?
