You need someone more towards the center and who will work with Democrats when necessary like Christie otherwise you're fcked as far as winning the presidency. The more likely option is the South secedes again and then you'll have a rightwing president.

Envy is ugly.
Cutting taxes in general without cutting spending takes money from all of us as it adds to the deficit.

We all share the national debt.

When you give tax cuts weighted to the wealthy without corresponding spending cuts, the poor & Middle Class end up taking the hit for the wealthy's tax breaks.

When you give a particular company or a particular industry a tax break without a spending cut or corresponding revenue increase elsewhere, people pay for it as the deficits increase.

Republicans offered the answer. They insisted that the 'individual mandate' be put in Obamacare because it was the only way that Big Insurers argued that they could keep people with preexisting conditions on insurance rolls without going bankrupt.

After nearly a week of controversy surrounding the body of suspected Boston bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, FOX 25 and The Boston Globe are reporting that he has been moved from the funeral home for burial.

"A courageous and compassionate person came forward to provide the assistance needed to properly bury the deceased," Worcester police Sgt. Kerry Hazelhurst told FOX 25.

"Body left Worcester funeral home before midnight," Boston Globe reporter Wesley Lowery tweeted today, "[and] has been buried out of state in plan approved by uncle Ruslan Tsani."

Multiple cemeteries in Massachusetts refused to accept Tsarnaev's body. Tsarnaev's uncle was initially insistent that Tamerlan, who died during a police shootout on April 19, be buried in Massachusetts, but those plans fell through.

UPDATE: There is some confusion as to whether the body has actually been buried or just moved in preparation for burial. Globe reporter Lowery tweeted this clarification: " Worcester PD statement says Tamerlan Tsarnaev's body 'entombed,' which is technically different than 'buried' as I reported."

When “Thinking Strategically” Means Not Thinking At All

Thank goodness Karl Rove has no influence in the White House any longer. Here is his idea of “thinking strategically” about Iran:

But if he thought about Iran strategically, he would have backed Iran’s Green Revolution after the stolen 2009 parliamentary elections. He would also not have sabotaged chances for a U.S. military presence in Iraq by insisting on parliamentary approval of a status-of-forces agreement. A U.S. presence in Iraq would have reduced Iranian influence in Baghdad and diminished the likelihood of sectarian conflict in Iraq.

A lot of this relies on the same exaggerated view of presidential power that afflicts so many pundits writing on failed domestic legislation. Rove’s argument boils down to saying that these things would have been done and they would have been successful if only Obama had been willing to do them. All of this is tied to the fantasy that Obama’s Iran policy has been anything other than the cruel, unwise continuation of his predecessor’s Iran policy. In fact, each of these claims is wrong on the merits, and none of them would have changed a thing about Iran’s nuclear program had U.S. policy been different.

http://www.theamericanconservative.com/lariso...

As we go through Rove’s list of what Obama should have done to “think strategically” about Iran, we find that he recommends doing the most foolish, irresponsible thing in each case. For instance, he also thinks the U.S. should have quickly moved to collapse Assad’s regime. A collapsed Syrian regime might be a setback for Iran, but it would be a nightmare for Syrians and their neighbors that could be far worse than their current suffering. Rove’s recommendations for “thinking strategically” are all short-sighted and suggest that neither he nor the Republican hawks that he stole them from have been thinking very seriously about any of these problems.

That's not the point, the point is that many people couldn't either afford or obtain insurance. This is supposed to solve that problem. That 80% of premiums must go to patient care should cover it.
I agree it's a flawed program. Only hope that eventually we will join the rest of the civilized world and have universal single payer healthcare for all.

Attracting a new business to a town with a temporary property tax concession as an incentive creates local employment with attendant increased revenue. The vacant land or buildings were probably creating very little property tax revenue anyway. Down the road they will generate far more.
Let's say a company like Cabela's wants to build a megastore along the interstate in one of two or three rural townships. Why not offer an incentive to attract the development?
Idiots like Dave who want to punish business are the reason we have continued high unemployment.
Keep in mind that we are talking about real businesses, not the kind of scams like Solyndra funded by Obama.
How about the stores that sold outdoor equipment & supplies that have been paying taxes for years. Now their tax dollars go to bringing in competition that will run them out of business.

How about companies in that area for decades growing adding jobs & supporting the community for decades. What do they get?

Why America Lost wrote:
Does anyone remember Barack Obama's great promise of the campaign of 2012? He did not make a promise to America nor to Americans. He did not make a promise to fellow politicians. Unlike so many of his promises, he is keeping this one. His promise was to Vladimir Putin of Russia.
What is Obama doing to keep his promise to Putin? Everyone remembers the hot mike incident in 2012 when Barack Obama pleaded with Russian President Dmitri Medvedyev to give him time until the election. After the election, he promised Vladimir Putin, through Medvedyev, he would be more "flexible." Now we have seen this flexibility.
Barack Obama is going to spend almost $700 million dollars of taxpayer money to buy Russian helicopters for the Afghan Air Force. But wait. Just like those TV commercials, this gets better. When Congress passed the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act, it had an interesting provision. Congress included, as a part of that law a prohibition on the United States buying helicopters from Rosoboronexport, the Russian manufacturer of the Mi-17 helicopter.
Unfortunately as always happens, when such laws are passed, Congress always gives the Regime an escape hatch. The law stated that Obama could buy from Rosoboronexport if the Secretary of Defense certified it was in the interest of National Security. And of course, the Secretary of Defense, Chuck Hagel, a man committed to destroying the US military immediately signed off on that certification. Where do we even start with this one?
Congress is outraged over this with Senators and Representatives from both parties writing letters about this. Of course, this is Congress' fault for allowing a law to be written with such an escape hatch. More importantly, Americans need to be asking just what the hell the Obama Regime is doing.
Why are we spending $700 million dollars with a Russian arms manufacturer? Why are we even giving the Afghans these helicopters?
If we are going to give them helicopters, which we really shouldn't, then why not give them American made helicopters and put Americans to work? Even if we are going to give the Afghans Russian helicopters, the ones we are giving them are an old Cold War design. There are hundreds of used MI-17 helicopters floating around the world. Why are we paying to give the Afghans brand new helicopters?
In the era of the Sequester, isn't there something better we can do with $700 million? American Medicare cancer patients are being turned away from hospitals and are being denied life saving treatment because of budget cuts. The American military is being gutted to the point of ineffectiveness because of budget cuts. Or consider this. The United States Air Force is grounding 17 squadrons because of $591 million dollars in budget cuts. Our Air Force is not able to do its mission because it lacks the money to fly but we have the money to give Afghanistan $700 million dollars in Russian helicopters.
And this is where Barack Obama thinks we should spend our money? Most people reading this story will not have heard about it. Why?
Because the Obama Propaganda Media is moving in lock step to make sure there is no bad news that might damage Obama's presidency.
This is a story that should damage him and outrage every American.
Ask your Senator or Congressman why this outrage is being allowed and take a moment to share this story with your friends.
The only way we will ever stop Obama is if the American people know what he is doing.
Even retires of FDNY know about this:
