Barack Obama, our next President

Full story: Hampton Roads Daily Press

"The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep," Obama cautioned. Young and charismatic but with little experience on the national level, Obama smashed through racial barriers and easily defeated ...

What a stupid response. You are making wild claims and don't even know the numbers.
I proved to one of you stupid fks just last week that retail sales reports don't consider the monthly rise and fall of prices at the pump. To my way of thinking that's bullsht__gasoline prices amount to a large portion of the nations retail sales and right now gas prices are dropping like a rock.

Do yourself a huge favor mope and go the extra step when trying to sort out large numbers__you'll be amazed at what a fkn stooge you've been while spouting the lies on the right wing sites.

Aunt Bettie Lou, Thousands of Africans are alive today thanks to Bush's humanitarian efforts in the AIDs epidemic. Why was it George W Bush's ONLY successful policy in his eight years in office? Presidents Jimmy Carter, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton hinted that Bush's African AIDS policy was successful BECAUSE it was his only BI-PARTISAN POLICY.:-D
Clinton and Carter praised Bush for pushing Congress to fund AIDS relief for Africa.

Apparently, the bipartisanship had to be "pushed".

Carter thanked Bush for seeking a solution to the conflict in Sudan and told Bush he was grateful "for the contributions you've made to the most needy people on Earth."

Obama said, "To know the man is to like the man, because he's comfortable in his own skin. He takes his job seriously, but he doesn't take himself too seriously. He's a good man."

For the first time, Obama said something right about Bush.

I guess you think only terrorists shop there. Many customers spend hundreds of dollars.
But hey, lets have people spend hundreds of dollars on ammunition without question & have freakin fit when someone spends hundreds of dollars on fireworks.
Typical right whiner dumbass thinking.
Liar, you've never seen anyone buy $400 dollars worth of fireworks.

Leadville Lou, "You nor anybody else has one shred of proof any green scheme is doing one iota of good viv a vis AGW." WHO's being the moron and interminable bore now? LOL ! Is infinite planet thinking finally being rejected as destructive and based on mostly false notions on how human economies remain sustainable ? "Podesta highlighted just how far the world has come since the original MDGs were developed in 2000, citing the shift from a world easily classified into Global North and South, or developed and developing countries. Instead, the world now includes developing countries like Brazil and India who have large populations who require assistance, but are themselves donors and political forces. These changes, according to Podesta, require a new way of considering development and sustainable economic growth:
PODESTA: We know now that sustainable economic growth is not simply about increasing the size of national economies but about shaping enduring systems and institutions that respect the rights of individuals and give them the tools they need to help lift themselves out of poverty. Sustainable economic growth requires ensuring the poor have what I call “connectivity.”“Connectivity” broadly encompasses issues like access to health care, education, and job opportunities; connections to physical, social, and energy infrastructure; and the opportunity to actively participate in the civic and economic lives of their countries and to be recognized legally by their governments."Check this out: http://thinkprogress.org/security/2013/04/05/...

That's what Presidents do, present and former. It was an event; of course they're all going to say nice things. They're politicians, afterall. Bush looked like he was crying when President Obama spoke. Barbara Bush was sitting next to the President having a grand old time. Pres. Bush Sr. looked unwell.
The quip about the nude paintings was hilarious.
All Presidents share that commonality that no one else will ever know. Jimmy Carter was close friends with Gerald Ford.
A lot of us cry when President Obama speaks - not because we're moved to tears.

However, it was clear Obama sees Bush in a whole different light.

Bush, Sr. is almost 90 and just got out of the hospital recently. It was amazing he was able to be there.

The Government-Created Subprime Mortgage Meltdown

by Thomas J. DiLorenzo

The thousands of mortgage defaults and foreclosures in the "subprime" housing market (i.e., mortgage holders with poor credit ratings) is the direct result of thirty years of government policy that has forced banks to make bad loans to un-creditworthy borrowers. The policy in question is the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), which compels banks to make loans to low-income borrowers and in what the supporters of the Act call "communities of color" that they might not otherwise make based on purely economic criteria.

The original lobbyists for the CRA were the hardcore leftists who supported the Carter administration and were often rewarded for their support with government grants and programs like the CRA that they benefited from. These included various "neighborhood organizations," as they like to call themselves, such as "ACORN" (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). These organizations claim that over $1 trillion in CRA loans have been made, although no one seems to know the magnitude with much certainty. A U.S. Senate Banking Committee staffer told me about ten years ago that at least $100 billion in such loans had been made in the first twenty years of the Act.

So-called "community groups" like ACORN benefit themselves from the CRA through a process that sounds like legalized extortion. The CRA is enforced by four federal government bureaucracies: the Fed, the Comptroller of the Currency, the Office of Thrift Supervision, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The law is set up so that any bank merger, branch expansion, or new branch creation can be postponed or prohibited by any of these four bureaucracies if a CRA "protest" is issued by a "community group." This can cost banks great sums of money, and the "community groups" understand this perfectly well. It is their leverage. They use this leverage to get the banks to give them millions of dollars as well as promising to make a certain amount of bad loans in their communities.

Man your responses is nonsense! The whole Constitutional argument is based apon people having the right to overthrow the govt if they feel it doesn't represent them anymore. So don't tell me about laws. I don't need a law to tell me right from wrong. I'm a grown man, I do what I want to do, & you should or you do to! I said the constitution needs to be rewritten. My comments using the article was blatant evidence it is unnecessary, because nobody abides by it anyway. People only use it to further their agenda. As for conforming it to fit me, I could care less. I only care if America is serious about equality. Other than that, no judge, no politician, no 200yr old corpse, no police, NOBODY, is gon tell me how to live my life! NOBODY!!!
