Liberals are such gullible fools:

In 1970, the first Earth Day was celebrated — okay,“celebrated” doesn’t capture the funereal tone of the event. The events (organized in part by then hippie and now convicted murderer Ira Einhorn) predicted death, destruction and disease unless we did exactly as progressives commanded.

Behold the coming apocalypse as predicted on and around Earth Day, 1970:

"Civilization will end within 15 or 30 years unless immediate action is taken against problems facing mankind." — Harvard biologist George Wald

"We are in an environmental crisis which threatens the survival of this nation, and of the world as a suitable place of human habitation." — Washington University biologist Barry Commoner

"Man must stop pollution and conserve his resources, not merely to enhance existence but to save the race from intolerable deterioration and possible extinction." — New York Times editorial
"Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make. The death rate will increase until at least 100-200 million people per year will be starving to death during the next ten years." — Stanford University biologist Paul Ehrlich

"Most of the people who are going to die in the greatest cataclysm in the history of man have already been born…[By 1975] some experts feel that food shortages will have escalated the present level of world hunger and starvation into famines of unbelievable proportions. Other experts, more optimistic, think the ultimate food-population collision will not occur until the decade of the 1980s." — Paul Ehrlich

"It is already too late to avoid mass starvation," — Denis Hayes, Chief organizer for Earth Day

"Demographers agree almost unanimously on the following grim timetable: by 1975 widespread famines will begin in India; these will spread by 1990 to include all of India, Pakistan, China and the Near East, Africa. By the year 2000, or conceivably sooner, South and Central America will exist under famine conditions…. By the year 2000, thirty years from now, the entire world, with the exception of Western Europe, North America, and Australia, will be in famine." — North Texas State University professor Peter Gunter

"In a decade, urban dwellers will have to wear gas masks to survive air pollution… by 1985 air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half." — Life magazine
"At the present rate of nitrogen buildup, it's only a matter of time before light will be filtered out of the atmosphere and none of our land will be usable." — Ecologist Kenneth Watt

"Air pollution...is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone." — Paul Ehrlich
"By the year 2000, if present trends continue, we will be using up crude oil at such a rate… that there won't be any more crude oil. You'll drive up to the pump and say,‘Fill 'er up, buddy,' and he'll say,‘I am very sorry, there isn't any.'" — Ecologist Kenneth Watt

"[One] theory assumes that the earth's cloud cover will continue to thicken as more dust, fumes, and water vapor are belched into the atmosphere by industrial smokestacks and jet planes. Screened from the sun's heat, the planet will cool, the water vapor will fall and freeze, and a new Ice Age will be born." — Newsweek magazine

"The world has been chilling sharply for about twenty years. If present trends continue, the world will be about four degrees colder for the global mean temperature in 1990, but eleven degrees colder in the year 2000. This is about twice what it would take to put us into an ice age." — Kenneth Watt

massive lawsuits and idiotic liberal juries have resulted in many expensive tests to be run so the doctors can protect themselves.
Thanks, liberals.
Doctors are overtreating and overdiagnosing for one of two reasons - to protect their own butts or just because they can and get more money.

According to the World Health Organization's ranking of the world's health systems last produced in 2000, the United States came it at 37 just behind Costa Rica!!

http://www.photius.com/rankings/healthranks.h...

We have obviously mistaken quality health care for expensive procedures and expensive medication - of which both are many times totally unnecessary.

We're digging ourselves in a hole of ever increasing costs of expensive and unnecessary health care without even realizing it. Obamacare will not solve the real crisis of unaffordable and unnecessary health care.

People fail to go to the doctor because they cannot afford it. They can't afford the deductibles. It is a proven fact that preventative medicine and going to the doctor at the beginning of symptoms rather than waiting until it becomes a full blown illness or disease makes for a healthier population and reduces costs.
I watched a documentary on type 2 diabetes last night, several obese people were interviewed, some severly obese and some slightly; the doctor said that they can control the onset of diabetes by losing just 7% of their body weight! One young woman, 27 years old, weighed 340 lbs. They were asking what they can do to avoid and prevent diabetes!! Duh! Go on a diet and get off the sofa! Do you know how much diabetes costs this country annually?
Yet you see this big fatsos at the grocery stores, loading up cases of soda and buying gallons of ice cream.
Physicians are simply over-treating and over-diagnosing. Physicians who were interviewed in the PBS documentary, Medicine and Money, said this was an ongoing problem that will eventually bankrupt the health care system unless something changes soon.

We came in 37th on the world stage of quality health care.

Something isn't adding up. Namely, the high costs of health care not producing the results and outcomes of those high costs.

We are not addressing the real problem.

Alright then... we shouldn't have gotten side tracked in Iraq, should've left it for the next administration to deal with.
Boy would you Uncle Teddy-swing the immigration screen doors wide open-jackboot lickers really be chitting bricks now, if Saddam was around still lending a hand to Iran (nothing like ug tunnels to transport and help build nuclear capabilities! Saddam the insane no doubt, would've LOVED that high pedastal, global threat to the world chit)
Fair enough?
As much as I supported Bush's decision to take down Saddam and was happy the surge finally put an end to the unexpected resistance, I would have loved to know what the UN's "serious consequences" were after the supposed "final" resolution.

Mass poisonings of schoolgirls in Afghanistan have occurred in the past by those who oppose female education. Up to 74 girls fell ill in the most recent attack.

Afghan women have won back basic rights in education, voting and employment since 2001, but fears are growing that such gains could be traded away as Western forces prepare to leave and the Afghan government seeks peace talks with the Taliban.

http://news.msn.com/world/afghan-girls-school...

Just in case some forget who the enemy is and why.
They gas their own women.

Wonder what would have happened if Obama had not continued and escalated the war in Afghanistan after the war in Iraq ended. Also now in Pakistan.

Not making judgments. Just curious.
