Wrong nitwit! Water boarding is torture and we prosecuted its use as a war crime after WWII. There's nothing "up in the air" about it. Yes we do use it on intelligence trainees to teach them how to resist it. You obviously don't see the difference between participating voluntarily in a training regimen and being involuntarily tortured.
Panetta never implied that water boarding or in right wing PC parlance "enhanced interrogation" ever contributed to information that ultimately tracked down Bin Laden. John McCain who is on the Senate Intelligence Committee stated;
“It was not torture, or cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment of detainees that got us the major leads that ultimately enabled our intelligence community to find Osama bin Laden,”
He also stated;
“Ultimately this debate is about far more than technical or practical issues. It is about far more than whether torture works or does not work. It is about far more than utilitarian matters. Ultimately, this is about morality.”
“We are America, and we hold ourselves to a higher standard,”
And yet you keep insisting you're some kind of Christian.
Waterboarding has a long history in the US military, dating back to the Phillipines in the early 1900s.

South Korea has become too expensive and many Japanese companies are moving production to Vietnam.

anyone figure out yet where the bombers got their guns?
so what right wing lie will need to be told so it looks like they bought them from a 'Liberal'? out with it nutjobs. i know by now you've received the required propaganda to make the stupid/conservative Americans further ignore our gun problem.
Massachusetts has very strict gun laws, so the weapons (as yet unidentified) were probably illegal.

We need more laws to make illegal weapons illegal.

The Politicization of the Boston Bombings Has Begun
The attacks have nothing to do with immigration reform, but partisans are rushing to exploit them anyway.
From the moment the first suspect in the Boston bombing was killed in a shootout, I was counting the minutes until the Beltway types started trying to score political points.
I didn’t have to wait long.
The bogus cry of this-raises-serious-concerns was soon heard throughout the land.
Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley rushed to say that in hearings he wants to examine immigration reform,“particularly in light of all that is happening in Massachusetts over the last week.”
Never mind that what happened in Boston has relatively little to do with the issues being debated on the immigration front. Many politicians and pundits do whatever they can to hitch their wagon to any news bulletin might give them a rhetorical edge.
Sometimes this is legitimate—the Newtown massacre clearly convinced President Obama to mount a passionate push for gun control—and sometimes it’s a stretch.
If a shoe bomber tries to blow up a plane, we need to debate airline security. If an oil spill erupts in the ocean, we need to check on whether there were adequate federal inspections.
But as tragic as the Boston Marathon bombing was, it doesn’t lend itself to a huge policy revamp, unless someone wants to ban fertilizer, or stop holding marathons.
http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/04...
[and] President Obama is fair game, having made two televised statements about the bombings in the first 48 hours, attended an interfaith service in Boston and appeared before the cameras after the second suspect was nabbed late Friday night. But even Mitt Romney praised the president’s speech in Boston, and what could the administration have done to prevent what happened at a marathon in which local police were in charge?
The carnage in downtown Boston was a shock to us all. Too bad some pols and pundits are already attempting to exploit it.
The bombing has EVERYTHING to do with immigration reform.

At the least, the older brother should have been denied re-entry to the US after his 6-month training mission in Dagestan.

Not to mention Saddam was a clear and present danger prior to 9/11. The first resolution was as far back as 1986. Prior to 2002, the UN Security Council had passed 16 resolutions.

In January 2003, inspectors discovered 11 empty 122 mm chemical warheads that had not been previously declared by Iraq. Iraq claimed they were old weapons but after performing tests on the warheads, the UN inspectors believed they were new.

Also, inspectors reported the discovery of over 3,000 pages of weapons program documents in the home of an Iraqi citizen suggesting Saddam attempted to "hide" them from inspectors and contradicting his earlier claim that there were no further documents to provide.

A total of 16 Iraqi scientists refused to be interviewed by inspectors with sources saying Saddam had ordered the death of any scientist who spoke with inspectors in private. No scientist confirmed this but, of course, they wouldn't.

The UN Chief Inspector said in February 2003 that he found it "a bit odd" that Iraq with "one of the best-organized regimes in the Arab world," would claim to have no records of the destruction of these illegal substances. "I don't see that they have acquired any credibility."

Taking down Saddam was inevitable.

I even had misgivings at the beginning knowing it was inevitable. But I never understood why - after the crimes against humanity became known - anyone claiming to support human rights - namely, the bleeding heart left - would became so crazy and act like liberating these people was the worst thing that could have happened.

The FBI was reported to be hunting a 12-strong terrorist “sleeper cell” linked to the Boston marathon bomb brothers.

Police believe Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev were specially trained to carry out the devastating attack.

More than 1,000 FBI operatives were working to track down the cell and arrested a man and two women 60 miles from Boston in the hours before Dzhokhar’s dramatic capture after a bloody shootout on Friday.

A source close to the investigation said:“We have no doubt the brothers were not acting alone. The devices used to detonate the two bombs were highly sophisticated and not the kind of thing people learn from Google.

“They were too advanced. Someone gave the brothers the skills and it is now our job to find out just who they were. Agents think the sleeper cell has up to a dozen members and has been waiting several years for their day to come.”

A specialist team of CIA and FBI interrogators was yesterday flown to a Boston hospital to grill wounded Dzhokhar, 19, about the secret group. The University of Massachusetts student was caught on Friday after hiding out in a boat parked in a garden in locked down Watertown the day after a gun battle with police left his 26-year-old brother and a rookie cop dead.

Dzhokhar is said to have run his brother over as he escaped in a stolen car while Tamerlan lay handcuffed on the ground. They were carrying six bombs with them at the time, three of which exploded, as well as a handgun and rifle. The devices were thought to be pipe bombs.

You must thrive on the apprehensions of the unknown and derisiveness.

His only "accomplishment" was Obamacare. Democrats who wrote it are calling it a "train wreck".

Besides strangling the private sector and job creation, accelerating the drone program resulting in a deeper animosity towards the US, campaigning or on vacation, exactly what else has he done?

I will try and keep an open mind.

We did not invade Iraq because Sadam was a danger or to liberate his people.

We wet to war because George W Bush said Sadam likely had a nuclear weapon & was selling it to terrorists.

Obamacare Strikes Again

The nation's largest movie theater chain has cut the hours of thousands of employees, saying in a company memo that ObamaCare requirements are to blame.

Regal Entertainment Group, which operates more than 500 theaters in 38 states, last month rolled back shifts for non-salaried workers to 30 hours per week, putting them under the threshold at which employers are required to provide health insurance. The Nashville-based company said in a letter to managers that the move was a direct result of ObamaCare.

“In addition, some managers have requested guidance on what they should tell those employees negatively impacted and, at your discretion, we suggest the following,” read the memo.“To comply with the Affordable Care Act, Regal had to increase our health care budget to cover those newly deemed eligible based on the law's definition of a full-time employee.”

“To manage this budget, all other employees will be scheduled in accord with business needs and in a manner that will not negatively impact our health care budget,” the message continues.

Obama is extremely fortunate that the US no longer has an independent news organization to inform the American public.
