If either George Bush, or if Ronald Reagan had openly deployed US troops to Africa on anything like the scale President Obama has, black America would be up in arms. They wanted to. They couldn't. It seems that now, by giving us a black president, the empire can get just about whatever it wants.
It works the same way at home. Ronald Reagan and the first George Bush would have liked to tamper with social security, but dared not. All Reagan could do was tell welfare queen jokes, and despite Reagan's open disdain of organized labor, NAFTA was a distant wet dream of corporations and billionaires. The first president Bush proposed NAFTA but could never get it through Congress. It took a Democratic president, Bill Clinton, who marshaled a minority of Democrats in Congress to vote with Republicans both to pass NAFTA and to eliminate welfare. It was Bill Clinton who publicly embraced Republican myths about balancing the US budget, while allowing liberals to imagine he would deliver a “peace dividend.” The second president Bush openly trumpeted right wing lies about the solvency of social security and the (lies which Barack Obama happily repeats to this day) and tried more than once to privatize it. Again, that's continuity across administrations and parties.
True to form, Obama picked the ball up where his predecessors left it and has run relentlessly righward ever since. Barack Obama uses the language of the elites when he calls social security, Medicaid and Medicare and other federal benefits “entitlements” and asserts that their growth must be trimmed. He championed the formation of a deficit reduction commission chaired by Democrat Erskine Bowles and Republican Alan Simpson, both advocates of privatizing social security and drastic cuts to Medicaid, Medicare and federal benefits and tried to fast-track their recommendation through Congress. Fortunately that recommendation never came.
Just last week, Obama offered as his opening position in negotiations with Republicans, the chaining of social security and all other federal benefits to the consumer price index --- a monstrous betrayal that will reduce social security benefits by as much as $100 monthly by a decade from now. It wasn't anything he had been cornered into by Republicans. It was the point from which Barack Obama decided to start. That's continuity. Only a Republican president, like Richard Nixon, could go to China in the 1970s. Only a black Democrat can break his promises to labor on championing a card check law, refute his commitments to a just and fair media with network neutrality, and do nothing to roll back the prison state which has engulfed black and brown youth. Only a black Democrat could deport more Latinos than all the last three Republicans together, in his first term alone.

Democrats and Republicans are not mutual opponents. They are a tag team, each one pushing the ball further and further down the field in the wrong direction. It's still winter in America, and the dead hand of Ronald Reagan still guides this nation, decades after his exit from the White House. Welcome to the 9th term of Ronald Reagan, in the person of Democrat Barack Hussein Obama.
One could also argue, since we are in the grips of the greatest depression, although we don't call them that any more, since the 1930s, and Obama's economic policies bear more in common to Herbert Hoover than to Franklin Roosevelt, that we're living through Herbert Hoover's third term as well. But we'll save that for another day.

"The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing."
- Adolf Hitler
On November 11, 1938, the Minister of the Interior, Wilhelm Frick, passed Regulations Against Jews' Possession of Weapons. This regulation effectively deprived all Jews of the right to possess firearms or other weapons.
In 1935, Jewish residents were no longer considered citizens to prevent any resistance under the 1938 German Weapons Act.
The 1938 revisions introduced restrictions specifically to prohibit Jews from holding firearms but made it easier for the one-party nazi regime to gain acquisition and transfer of rifles and shotguns as the possession of ammunition.
And then there's China...
Although gun laws in China are becoming difficult to enforce, China's weapons laws are among the world's toughest. Its blanket ban on private ownership of rifles, pistols and even gun replicas is a core tenet of social policy.
By the way, Obama has been hellbent on destroying the Republican Party and any and all opposition with the help of his Cheerleaders. Doesn't the notion of a "one-party" system and that one party demonizing law-abiding gun owners even raise a little red flag?

Obama Aims To Cut Social Security & Other Federal Benefits? And This is a Surprise?
President Obama's proposal to cut Social Security by "chaining" it to the consumer price index will cost seniors a good 10% of monthly benefits a decade from now. Republicans didn't force him into this, it's his opening proposal for negotiating. Is anybody even surprised?

you confuse me with your inner city inlaws. you're a typical wannabe limousine liberal who preaches far removed from anything that is a result of liberal viewpoints. like the homeless--out on the streets because Democrats got rid of psychiatric hospitals and involuntary hospitalization and thugs because limousine liberals champion criminal rights over protecting the public and the decline in the family in conjunction with the progressive anti-marriage movement (except now for gays).
what comes out in your posts, other than you are a symptom of the decline in our society and support killing anything in the birth canal for convenience?
karma is your perpetual existence on topix, arguing with strangers. how often does the ambulance chaser ever trot you out for a meal? it is really sad.

The story goes that some mice became very upset about the cat in the house and convened an emergency meeting. They finally came up with the idea of tying a bell around the cat’s neck, so the dangerous feline could no longer catch victims unawares. The plan gained a lot of enthusiastic praise, until one mouse piped up with a question that preceded a long silence:“Who’s going to bell the cat?”
In recent days, the big cat in the White House has provoked denunciations from groups that have rarely crossed him. They’re upset about his decision to push for cuts in Social Security benefits.“Progressive outrage has reached a boiling point,” the online juggernaut MoveOn declared a few days ago.
Obama’s move to cut Social Security is certainly outrageous, and it’s encouraging that a wide range of progressive groups are steamed at Obama as never before. But this kind of outrage should have reached a “boiling point” a long time ago. The administration’s undermining of civil liberties, scant action on climate change, huge escalation of war in Afghanistan, expansion of drone warfare, austerity policies serving Wall Street and shafting Main Street, vast deference to corporate power... The list is long and chilling.
So is the evasive record of many groups that are now denouncing Obama’s plan to cut Social Security. Mostly, their leaders griped in private and made nice with the Obama White House in public.
Yet imagine if those groups had polarized with President Obama in 2009 on even a couple of key issues. Such progressive independence would have shown the public that there is indeed a left in this country — that the left has principles and stands up for them — and that Obama, far from being on the left, is in the center. Such principled clarity would have undermined the right-wing attacks on Obama as a radical, socialist, etc.— and from the beginning could have gotten some victories out of Obama, instead of waiting more than four years to take him on.
Whether or not Obama’s vicious assault on Social Security is successful, it has already jolted an unprecedented number of longtime supporters. It should be the last straw, suffused with illumination.
That past is prologue. We need to ask: Do such groups now have it in them to stop pretending that each of the Obama administration’s various awful policies is some kind of anomaly?

In case you're referring to the purpose of the Second Amendment...
"What then was the purpose of the Second Amendment? It was to prevent the establishment of large standing armies by the federal government by guaranteeing the right of the people to keep and bear arms so as to provide the foundation for a national militia as the preferred armed service of the federal government to suppress insurrections and repel invasions.
"The Second Amendment was proposed by Madison and the First Congress not to guarantee to the states the right to maintain state militia but to prevent large standing armies by guaranteeing to the people, all of them potential militia, the right to keep and bear arms."
Maybe you should have just told me which part you thought was a joke.

Even American liberty hater Piers Morgan can’t ignore President Barack Obama’s lavish taxpayer-funded vacations — taken, no less, as Americans are being economically crippled by the President’s incompetence and unaccountability.
The President and his family must have different preferences of vacation destinations; the Obama daughters are also incredibly well traveled at the taxpayers’ expense. The girls enjoyed a spring break trifecta recently: Hawaii, Aspen and the Bahamas, all in one month.
And when he isn’t on vacation or advocating for government spending increases and gun laws, the President is hanging out with high-profile entertainers. He often does so during luxurious banquets at the White House that American proles are no longer permitted to visit.
Those entertainers, for their relationship with the President, can get the laws worked around in their favor. While lowly average Americans are strictly (and stupidly) forbidden from visiting Cuba except on academic, religious, journalistic or cultural exchange trips, Beyonce and Jay-Z spent their fifth wedding anniversary there… for educational reasons.
In other travel news, Vice President Joe Biden recently traveled to Paris with a healthy entourage for a night. The trip cost you $585,000 for the hotel stay alone. But if you think that is ridiculous, you’re a small person.

Blacks don't want to go & listen to the KKK.
Gays don't want to listen to Santorum.
Jews don't want skinheads giving commencement addresses to their kids.
Not including bigots & racists is not discriminatory.
No group is interested in support those that are bigoted or racist toward them.
Men don't cruise the women's locker room or bathroom because they aren't allowed in those places not because they wouldn't.

Obama wants to tax cigarettes about another dollar to raise $70 billion to pay for kindergarten for 4 year olds. With tobacco use declining where will the money come from to make up the difference?
On a side note the spell checker thinks Obama is suppose to be Mamba. LMAO!!!

Apparently you haven't been following Flacko's post's on this or his other threads for the last five years eh?
He's been consistently wrong on every topic because he only reads the headline and let's that little chicken that runs around in his mind take over the splainin.
I've known folks like Flack since a teen hanging out at Grange meetings with my dad the farmer.
But unlike your twisted self, Flack is honest, interesting and an important part of what makes this thread worth the time.

Now here you may have a valid argument.
However, Shangra-La doesn't exist.
In an imperfect world, the least amount of imperfection is all we can ask for.
It's about picking the best team knowing both are going to drop the ball but deciding on which one will gain the most yardage.
We had a major change in the game rules in 2008. Unfortunately, only one team has had a chance to run the ball under the new rules.
And we're not seeing too many touchdowns.

The KKK were southern democrats at one time. Blacks listen to the democrat party now. What happened?
Not to listen to any other side of any argument - in this case, gay marriage - is to remain doggedly stubborn and ignorant.
The only bigotry and racism is coming from your side - nonstop the past four years. It's only in your - and their - mind.
Don't give in to being a useful tool out of hatred and a need for power at all costs.

I realize that the point flew 0ver your head like most intelligent comments.
Its a tax break because there of taxation when the contributions are made is likely higher than the tax rate paid when they money is withdrawn.
If you make jointly $150K taxable, you would pay 28%. But say after retirement, your taxable income is $70,000 and you pay 15%.
Wow, that is a break of 12%.
How did you become such a dumbass?
