What about the tyrannies of the right, my dear?"Farewell, My Concubine", accurately depicts how Communism changes even loyal friends and spouses out of fear.
"Camp 14: Total Control Zone", a true story about Shin Dong-Huyk who was born inside a North Korean prison camp who only knew punishment, torture and abuse beyond imagination until he managed to escape at the age of 20.
I strongly advise some on here to watch these films. At least those who think Communism is "cool". There are plenty more films like them.
Under Pinochet, Chilean labor leaders, school teachers and socialists were rounded up, taken to remote locations and executed.
Others were jailed and tortured hideously. Women had their breasts mutilated. It was common practice to handcuff prisoners marked for death to iron railings attached to helicopters. The helicopter would then fly over the Pacific and dump the railing and prisoner into the water.
In El Salvador, same story. Government-organized right wing death squads jailed, tortured and killed anyone they suspected of being leftist.
The Republican administrations of both Ronald Reagan and GHW Bush gave military and financial support to these ghastly regimes, as well as others in Central and South America.
So if you're Republican, I suggest you tread lightly when giving us a lecture on the evils of communism. There's more than one form of tyranny.
