Thank you, Mr. President!!
While the paycheck nitwits piss and moan, we capitalists are reaping the rewards of a growing economy and increasing profits!!
That's a nice, childish view you have there, kid. Makes me smile.

When it rains on Texas crops, you thank the Boy Messiah. When the Sun shines tomorrow morning, you'll thank the Jerk-In-Chief.

When the bubble bursts, you'll launch into a Bush-Bashing rage.

MSN - A lot has changed about food stamps during the past few years. For one, the program is currently called the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), and it has made buying groceries much easier by providing debit-style cards.
But another aspect has changed even more dramatically: The number of Americans tapping into the social-welfare program is soaring.
Enrollment in SNAP has surged 70% since 2008, reaching a record 47.8 million Americans in December.
Even more shocking, that means 15% of the country receives the benefits, nearly double the rate as in 1975, when the U.S. suffered from soaring inflation, a recession and an oil crisis.
http://money.msn.com/now/post.aspx...
What we should really be saying is, "Oh SNAP! Did MSN just report that??"
The number added during the Bush Administration is about the same as added under the Obama administration.

No one denies how many are on SNAP. Its just the right whiners complaining & blaming Obama when Bush not only added as many but his recession send millions more since Jan of 2009.

<quoted text> Um You do realize that unemployment hovered around 4.5% during most of Bush's time after 9/11. Under Bill Clinton it was said 5% was full employment. Riddle me this Batman! How do you create jobs when every one is working? With the tax cuts what you had was people keeping more of THEIR money. Spending went up. People were living better. Enjoying themselves. Wages were going up because demand for labor was fierce. I remember people offering 5-65 dollar an hour raises if I would come work for them. You are full of Ca-Ca!!!
all good things came to a screeching halt when bush gave tax cuts to wealthy and then proceeded to launch 2 wasteful wars without the funding.
ha...the employment sector nose-dived when ppl. stop feeding the inflationary spiral....which meant things got too damn expensive fo afford anymore. pure greed got us in trouble. nothing virtuous about the bush years.

Yep, there were millions of people that qualified for disability that still worked because they had jobs they could do with these disabilities.
May of those jobs were lost in the Great Bush Recession. Finding new jobs that they could work became difficult to impossible. Now they must turn to disability.
Another statistic the dumbass right doesn't realize points back to their own party's recession.
Bush-Bashing again, eh? Liars like you never give up.

You didn't read the articles or cannot read with comprehension.

One of those interviewed talks about the mystery of rising numbers on disability *DURING THE GOOD TIMES* back in the '90's.

And here ImaginaryDave pulls another skunk out of his pants to entertain us with.

I've shot several of them in different towns, in more than one state, for their agressive behavior.
When the police arrive, they thank me.
Nice thing about pitbulls is that the police don't question you when you say the pitbull was attacking you.
Mostly, they just smile.
OTOH, I've a neighbor with a lovely pitbull that is all sweetness. If she ever acted agressively, I'd shoot her in a heartbeat.
Figures you'd be dumb enough to own a dangerous dog.

"Serious" Conservative Media And The Recidivist Temptation
President Obama's reelection has prompted more than a few conservative pundits and journalists to look inward and contemplate the weaknesses of the right-wing media model that obsesses over partisan minutia, eagerly chases phantom scandals, nosedives down ideological rabbit holes, and excludes dissenting voices. It's an interesting discussion, but it's hampered by the fact that the same people calling for change are themselves backsliding into the behaviors they want to correct.
Commentary editor and columnist John Podhoretz offers a pure distillation of this recidivist phenomenon. "Time To Get Serious," writes Podhoretz for the April issue of Commentary, arguing that after 6 years of treating Obama as alternately a "lightweight" political incompetent and a power-mad would-be dictator, and with nothing but two electoral drubbings to show for it, conservatives have to "come to grips" with Obama's political skill:
It's not just the comforting delusion that he's a golf-mad dilettante, but also the reverse-negative image of that delusion--that Obama is a not-so-secret Marxist Kenyan with dictatorial ambitions and a nearly limitless appetite for power. That caricature makes it far too easy for Obama to laugh off the legitimate criticisms of the kind of political leader he really is: a conventional post-1960s left-liberal with limited interest in the private sector and the gut sense that government must and should do more, whatever "more" might mean at any given moment.
Podhoretz's very next paragraph, however, shows that he's not quite ready to take his own advice, as he casts the Obama presidency as a vehicle for "disaster" at home and "nihilistic chaos" globally -- precisely the sort of extremist caricature he says isn't helpful for conservatives:
The notion that Obama is a dangerous extremist helps him, because it makes him seem reasonable and his critics foolish. It also helps those who peddle it, because it makes them notorious and helps them sell their wares. But it has done perhaps irreparable harm to the central conservative cause of the present moment -- making the case that Obama's social-democratic statism is setting the United States on a course for disaster and that his anti-exceptionalist foreign policy is setting the world on a course for nihilistic chaos. Those are serious arguments, befitting a serious antagonist. They may not sell gold coins as quickly and as well as excessive alarmism, but they have the inestimable advantage of being true.
Daniel Larison of the American Conservative observes:
Of course, warning about global "nihilistic chaos" being unleashed by an "anti-exceptionalist foreign policy" is just another example of excessive alarmism that produces the same effects as the attacks Podhoretz wants conservatives to reject. No one outside the bubble of movement conservatives and hard-liners believes that Obama's foreign policy is "anti-exceptionalist " in any sense, much less in the tendentious way that it is being applied here.

I pointed out you haven't paid even a tiny portion of it, you get upset and revert to your base ignorance.
Some things never change.
BTW, you have it backwards.(No surprise!)
It's medical technology that drives up the costs.
Without such technology, we wouldn't be living any longer. Without modern diabetes drugs, folks like Carol would have been dead a decade ago.
Actually this is what you said "You don't pay in advance for any of it." Which is a flat out lie.
