No, actually, I don't hate myself. I don't want the government to control me.

Do you?

What war did he vote against that involve drone strikes in pakistan? As commander in chief he could stop all military action if he wanted to. He doesn't.
Didn't the enemy take the war to Pakistan - like in Iraq?

Our only mission was to take down Saddam. Until the enemy decided the war was in Iraq.

I walk around Paris. I judge, by right of Zeus himself, the women naked. They show themselves to me. A naked woman is like a crude pink candle. She holds the wax which holds the wick. I hold the flame which makes her burn. Or not. The bitch.

Gun owners would have to buy liability insurance or they could face a $10,000 fine, under a new plan proposed by a group of House Democrats.
"For too long, gun victims and society at large have borne the brunt of the costs of gun violence," the bill's sponsor, New York Rep. Carolyn Maloney, said in a written statement. "My bill would change that by shifting some of that cost back onto those who own the weapons."
Supporters of the idea say most states require car owners to have liability insurance to cover damages their vehicles cause to others, so the same should be mandated for owners of firearms. Opponents argue that it adds an expensive burden for gun owners and infringes on Second Amendment rights.

Yeah, let's have the government force us to buy/insure something else and punish us if we don't.

Where does it end, Lily?

It's an extremely complicated issue. What would you suggest?
The Republicans want to cut medicaid and medicare; but rightwingers like Carol continue to say "Obama must do something about the mentally ill"; ok, what? Lock up everyone who acts a little odd? Who will pay for this wholesale warehousing of people?
We already do this through the criminal justice system; we have more people in prison than any other country.
Psychiatrists prescribe drugs; these drugs often make the person worse; no one knows what to do.
Lily, any 'extremely complicated issue' is going to go right over the head of any rightwinger.

To fully utilize the right to freedom of speech, one must assume the responsibility for speaking truthfully, understandably, and comprehensively. The right to vote should be enhanced by undertaking the efforts necessary to learn what is being voted upon and the beliefs of the candidates running. Automobiles, pit bulls, guns, children should all come with the burden of responsibility, imho.

1:07 pm. Tired of looking at naked women, but more tired of the men. A huge bulging muscle of men, priaps all, the darkness between their legs smells like fish... big fish... marlin... bull-marlin. Shining bright swords of light, hunting little fish, the ignominy of the sea, or the bullring... I'm not sure...

Tenzing proffered this awhile back, I think it's a great idea. Let the insurance industry control the guns. If Nancy Lanza knew she'd have to insure her weapons, with that kid in the house, her premiums would be through the roof; if she realized that anyone murdered by her guns would cost her entire estate and the insurance companies liability; perhaps 26 people would be alive.
Hey! I like it.

So right now there is no additional insurance needed or adjustments to insurance premiums if you own a gun?

Homer doesn't a own a gun, I find a bat to be more personal should anyone break in to my house.

Plus my you know is of uh adequate size, so no need to compensate and I'm not a hunter.

Black Opinions in the Age of Obama: Results of a National Zogby Poll
So, what did the poll, which I have chosen to entitle Black Opinions in the Age of Obama reveal? African Americans have an immense sense of pride in Barack Obama as President of the United States and he is unequivocally liked. He receives a 91% favorable rating. Seventy-two percent believe that President Obama's election has helped them while only 4% believe his election has hurt them.
Consistent with the data that shows that African Americans believe that President Obama's election has helped them, a majority of those polled - 62 percent - are optimistic about employment in the next four years.
Thirty percent (30%) of the respondents say they are doing better off financially than they were four years ago, about half say they are at least doing the same, and twenty-five percent (25%) say that "African Americans in general" are doing better while forty-four percent (44%) say they are doing about the same and twenty-one percent (21%) say they are worse off.
On race relations, tied to this feeling that the Obama presidency has been positive for African Americans fifty-three percent (53%) say that white-African American relations will improve, while only twenty-three (23%) are pessimistic.
When asked why they believed the Black unemployment rate was double that of whites. Responses include:
* Failure of the education system for minorities/African Americans (50%)
* Lack of corporate commitment to hiring minorities/African Americans (48%)
* Lack of good government policies (25%)

You heathens SHOULD be giving thanks, one of y'alls jackboot figureheads weren't in office on 9/11.
Ya cretin.
Why? Cause they would've f cked it up worse than O'l Bush right. They would've called Bin Laden's family from the breakfast they were attending with Daddy Bush, & put them on a G5 & had military jets escort then out of the country, right! No, here's the biggie! They would've invaded a country that had nothing to do with nothing, giving those responsible time to scurry all across the middle east & African continent, right! You people are stupid, I mean literally!
Knowing the long time friendship of the Bush's & Bin Laden's, the fact that they were in joint business ventures up until 9/11, the fact they were together when the"attacks" happened, & the fact that Bush hurried up & flew Bin Laden's family out of the US. If that don't stink to high heaven, then you lost 1 of you 5 senses. There is no way possible a democrat could've f cked up worst than that idiot at best, & accomplice at the least. You think the devil is still a snake in the garden, stupid! Look in the mirror!

Where does it end, Lily?
Tell gun owners to quit shooting people en masse and there won't be any need. Right now as noted we bear all the burden, why shouldn't gun owners bear more responsibility for themselves and their fellow gun owners actions?

The woman sent me here, I don't normally respond to their cravings for they are as ashes to me. I've killed more women in Spain than ever existed in Troy... or Greece. Someday, when I'm weak and less a man ... I might kill myself. On the other hand... I might go fishing... who knows? Marlin... by God Poseidon himself won't keep me from the shining killas the did Odysseus, to keep him from his timid but beautiful woman-flesh.

In my state, or city--I'm not really sure--one has to have a 100K liability policy if he owns a pit bull, and pit bulls cannot be adopted out of a shelter. Guns? Not so much. I guess Portman's son hasn't brought home a pit bull yet?

The enemy decides the frontlines of any war.

Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq...

South Korea?

CNN - U.S. deploys stealth fighter jets to South Korea.

The tense situation has irritated North Korea's traditional allies, China and Russia, drawing regular calls for restraint on all sides in recent weeks.

North Korea is probably just blowing off hot air again. It's probably nothing...
