Barack Obama, our next President

"The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep," Obama cautioned. Young and charismatic but with little experience on the national level, Obama smashed through racial barriers and easily defeated ... Full Story

Nevertheless, if he didn't have a gun, he'd have resorted to other methods to solve his silly tree problem rather than murder and suicide. Can't you get that into your brain?
The guy's name was Anthony Hardy he was fifty yoa, one deceased neighbor was 64 and the other 42, all where white.

North Carolina is not a sunshine law state and after three days this case has very few details.

If it had happened in FLA we would already know everything about the shooter and the deceased.

When a person is Baker Acted, they are usually given psychotropic drugs to subdue them. Dope them up and then let them go, the person can decide to pursue follow up mental health treatment; however, it's expensive, psychiatrists charge anywhere from $200 and hour and up, psychotherapists may be a little less, however it's still costly. People can't afford it if they've got childred to feed and no insurance.
It's so easy to be flippant and say they should be picked up and locked away. You're being absurd. Whose going to fund these longterm care hospitals for the insane?

It was the perfect photo op for a bright Spring Day, or at least the White House thought.

Hope he plays golf better than basketball.

Maybe he was just trying to miss on purpose to make the kids feel better.

Sorry, can't help but think it's funny anyway.

If Obama really cares about this issue, why should he care about the cost? It's never bothered him before.

These types of serial killers aren't the norm. But in almost every case, people who knew them said they saw the red flags.

The point is, the law should not allow a mentally ill person to decide if they walk the streets or not themselves. It should be the decision of medical health professionals.

The neighbors lived on either side of him, he was single, they were married with children, his pine trees obstructed power lines and were cut down, guess that set him off. 3 people dead. Lovely.
That's the crux of the problem, you don't know who is close to the edge of snapping.
BTW, that nutjob on my street whose pittbull bit my daughters dog is trying to befriend us again, giving us peace signs and came over with a bag of bananas from his tree, I said, no thanks.
You should see this joker, looks like a total nutjob. I debated on telling him to pay the vet bill for the hole his dog put into her dogs face, but said, eff it. Rather not have anything to do with him.,

Well, there are a lot of considerations and they depend upon the professionalism of those involved, however, when there is money to be made, often things go awry.
Remember the cash for kids case with those judges in PA?
What about that CA town that has the private prison? Look at the income that town gets from rounding up illegals and the taxpayers pay $100 a head per day.
So, then you have a kid acting up in high school and the teacher wants him out of her class; she notifies the guidance counselor, principal and the kid gets railroaded into a facility. If they really help the person, fine. But look at Evan Ebel in CO, he had been to several such private programs to no avail, ended up in solitary confinement for years and came out and went hog wild.
I read the mothers blog, it was pretty sad. What a nightmare and no easy answers.
The frikken problem is easy access to guns because there are far too many available. Most of the crazies are not going to pursue an arsenal and the math says that most of the devious crazy like Holmes are gonna get them anyway.

Lanza didn't even own a weapon__that arsenal belonged to his gun freak mother.

The mental health angle is merely a deflection, the people who sell and trade in firearms need their foreskins snapped back big
time.

The gunshow loophole needs to go, frankly gunshows need to go as well so long as they consist of places for 2nd amendment freaks to gather up to hear the likes of Ted Nugent and then accidentally shoot one another.

Need to remove the yayhoo factor.

You're a total simpleton. Not all people who have mental health issues are violent. You are a classic authoritarian who wants the government to pick up everyone who acts a little weird and lock them away. Imagine a return to the days when if your daughter was sick of looking after you and you started showing signs of dementian, she could just call the white coats to come and take you away. Ha ha hee hee, they're coming to take you away!
Whose going to pay for it? You don't want healthcare for all, yet, you want them locked away.
If we had universal single payer healthcare, then everyone would have access to mental health care.

I have to stay light on my feet around here, forgive me. I'm sorry you nice people have to suffer through this with me. This afternoon I'm going to get hubby to register me for sure, I'm just a poor helpless woman. I need some help with the few names still available too, so what do you think?

1. Cliff Hanger
2. Carols Names Mudd
3. Scairt Silly
4. Skirt Silly (yes, I was surprised this one's still available too!)
5. Willy World
6. Angelas Asses
7. Yumpin Yiminy
8. Just Say Homo
9. The Jig Banger
10. Emission Impossible?

I know, I know, it's not much to choose from but it would seem my little friend has been busy!

Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP): Corporate Power-Tool Of The 1%

Tuesday, April 2, 2013

Six hundred US corporate advisers have negotiated and had input into the TPP, and the proposed draft text has not been made available to the public, the press or policymakers -

The TPP would impose punishing regulations that give multinational corporations unprecedented rights to demand taxpayer compensation for policies they think will undermine their expected future profits straight from the treasuries of participating nations – it would push the agenda of Big Pharma in the developing world to impose longer monopoly controls on drugs, drastically limiting access to affordable generic medications that people depend on. The TPP would undermine food safety by limiting labeling and forcing countries like the United States to import food that fails to meet its national safety standards, in addition to banning Buy America or Buy Local preferences.

According to leaked draft texts, the TPP would also impose investor protections that incentivize offshoring jobs through special benefits for companies – the TPP stifles innovation by requiring Internet service providers to police user-activity and treat small-scale individual downloads as large-scale for-profit violators. Most predictably, it would rollback regulation of finance capital predators on Wall Street by prohibiting bans on risky financial services and preventing signatory nations from exercising the ability to independently pursue monetary policy and issue capital controls – signatories must permit the free flow of derivatives, currency speculation and other manipulative financial instruments...

Oh please.
I thought the guy who said those things was being nice.

We are in unchartered waters and, perhaps, even dangerous waters.

Obama has shown no reservations in trying to silence the opposition and establish a one-party system. He has minced no words about redistributing the wealth. He has not hesitated to diminish our military and deny law-abiding citizens the right to bear arms and protect themselves. He has the main stream media behind him. He wants an even more powerful federal government and stronger ties to unions.

Grab a history book. You'll see what I mean.
