Come on Carol; self nudes in the bathtub and shower are way more intriguing that dogs and landscapes.
Especially since they are self portraits, those are revealing of psyche.
Do you think he was waterboarding himself? He was watching himself in the mirror in the shower! What do those paintings say to you?
I guess W can add failed painter to his resume which includes failed national guardsman, failed oilman, failed baseball team owner, failed president, so far the only thing he has succeeded at is being a spoiled rich kid.

Why would the neighbors take it upon themselves to cut down trees belonging to someone else, rather than contacting the power company if they were concerned?
This man's actions may have been extreme, but where do you draw the line?
There's an investigation; however, the bottom line is this: if he was being harrassed by his neighbors on either side of him and they had his trees cut down; he could have used legal recourse rather than murder. If he did not have a gun; then the gun would not have been seen as the ultimate solution to his problem.
Now, three men are dead, three familes destroyed forever. This could have been avoided.
This type of fighting with neighbors happens often; especially in neighborhoods with homeowner associations or condo committees. People are viscous.

Should state mental hospitals become a reality again with long term commitments?
For sick individuals who have been identified by the mental health system, such as the Aurora shooter and the Virginia tech shooter, involuntary commitment may be necessary. Both were clearly crazy well in advance of their actions.

For others like the Newtown killer, who was not on the radar screen, the problem is more difficult.

How many others have already been identified by mental health professionals as having a high probability of committing mass murder, yet are roaming the streets because of confidentiality laws?

This is a difficult issue, but is being completely ignored by the Obama administration for political reasons, needing to blame firearms for all problems.

U.S. Arrests Lawmakers, Claiming Bribe for Spot on Mayoral Ballot
State Senator Malcolm A. Smith, who rose to become the first black president of the State Senate, and City Councilman Daniel J. Halloran III were arrested early Tuesday on charges of trying to illicitly get Mr. Smith on the ballot for this year’s mayoral race in New York City, according to federal prosecutors.
Mr. Smith, a Queens Democrat, and Mr. Halloran, a Queens Republican, were among a half-dozen people arrested by Federal Bureau of Investigation agents in the corruption case. The others were Joseph J. Savino, the Bronx G.O.P. chairman; Vincent Tabone, vice chairman of the Queens Republican Party; and Noramie F. Jasmin, the mayor of the Rockland County village of Spring Valley, and her deputy, Joseph A. Desmaret, according to a criminal complaint.
Mr. Smith, 56, was taken from his home in handcuffs by F.B.I. agents before sunrise and Mr. Halloran, a lawyer, was arrested about the same time, law enforcement authorities said.
Mr. Smith, a contractor and real estate developer, has said he was considering running for mayor as a Republican, and the charges contend that he made payments to Mr. Halloran in exchange for the councilman’s assistance in setting up meetings with Republican leaders as part of an effort to get on the ballot, the complaint said.

It's the same with every issue the Democrats thrive on, from global warming to the economy. It's as if they were off playing golf, screwing hookers, or launching rim-shots while the Republicans were busy conspiring the ruination of the universe - all without their slightest awareness or involvement. This absurdity wouldn't 'normally' raise an eyebrow, but when one considers the make-up of their constituency......
Actually, the Repub, lcans agreed with global warming until their party leadership decided it was better if they were against it. All they had to do was demonize it & you sheep followed lock step.

This is how stupid the right is.

Obamacre contains many Republican initiatives from before. Note how now, you bozos run screaming down the street. " OMG OMG OMG the Exchanges"

Even though your hero Paul Ryan proposed these same exchanges for Medicare & you idiots cheered.

You don't get it. You never will.

In December of 2008, YOUR leadership met & decided that if Obama was for it, you would be against it.

It worked like a charm as I read your posts.

This case is unclear as to what crime was actually committed.

Sounds like normal business practice to pay an agent to set up contacts with potential clients.

However, it is comforting to know that the FBI has solved all violent crime and can now focus on this serious issue.

I wouldn't say it's being ignored at all. Adam Lanzas mother knew her child had Aspergers syndrome, however, she taught him to shoot and encouraged his playing of violent video games, bought him guns etc.
You're right in that he had not committed any crimes before or had violent incidents, but, this seems to be total denial on the part of the parents. I hope the victims families sue the estate for every cent. That boy should have been around weapons, lets hope this is a lesson for any parent with a disturbed teenager.
Do you think that a person should be picked up and committed just because someone thinks he's acting weird? And, who will make that determination? You're correct in that the VA Tech killer, the therapist or professor saw disturbing signs and reported it, but, could he have been picked up without having done anything? The Columbine killers were teenagers living with parents, why in the hell did they not check their bedrooms? Makes no sense to me.
It seems a common theme that many of these young men felt that they were outcasts and were quite loners, often going unnoticed; until they commit their murders.

You could see a reflection of his face in the mirror simply to show it was him and his back.

There was no nudity in either drawing. Why are you so fixated on that word? Men's upper backs, lower legs and toes are not risque.
