"over 80 percent of the Arab inhabitants left their towns and villages in 1948, while Rashid Khalidi puts the percentage at 50.[8][9] Factors involved in the flight include Jewish military advances, attacks against Arab villages and fears of massacre after Deir Yassin,[10]:239–240 which caused many to leave out of panic; expulsion orders by Zionist authorities; the voluntary self-removal of the wealthier classes,[11] the collapse in Palestinian leadership,[12] and an unwillingness to live under Jewish control.[13] Later, a series of laws passed by the first Israeli government prevented them from returning to their homes, or claiming their property. They and many of their descendants remain refugees.[14][15] Later in the war, Palestinians were expelled as part of Plan Dalet.[16] The expulsion of the Palestinians has since been described by some historians as ethnic cleansing,[17][18][19] while others dispute this charge.[20][21][22]"

Honestly what difference does it make? The Palestinians were forcefully removed from their native lands, something we all know. What is this a debate or a battle of who could look up the most info on a certain subject? The topic should focus more on the outside influences that keep the neighbors fueding! Americas presence only intensify Israels cocky attitude, making any real peace talks far fetched. The only way Israel will learn the respect they should have for it's neighboring countries is for America to wash it's hands. Then if it takes war to come to a resolution, the loser will have a greater respect for the winner, but to continue to have what I call "gang wars" is just asinine. Nobody ever wins. Just a bunch of back & forth. America has stirred up a pot of shit with the atrocities of Syria & it's unwavering position as Israels big brother. Now we're stuck playing referee in a heavy weight bout we weren't scheduled to call. In the end, this will be Americas downfall. This country is just that, a country, not a governing body or supreme presence here to make sure 2 enemies play fair!

<quoted text> No Melvin for the most part you are wrong about that. Under the exchanges a family of 4 making $50,000 a year will pay $15,740 a year for insurance. But they will get a 'tax credit' of $10,274. Thee credit will go to the insurance company. Where will the federal government and eventually the state (in three years) get that money? It will bankrupt this country, as planned.

I have to agree with you. Police officers are like others, there are good ones and bad ones. I have had little contact with the police, a couple of speeding tickets, nothing major. No bad experiences. Ran into a nice officer, was downtown, plugged the meter, was late getting back. An officer was writing a overtime parking ticket, as I walked up he asked if it was my car, I said yes, He said have a nice day, no ticket issued. I said thanks. I think the overtime parking fine is $28.00.

What reason is there for registering guns unless the government wants to ability to locate them for confiscation?

As the debate over gun control heats up on Capitol Hill, a new poll Tuesday revealed that more voters consider a political endorsement from the National Rifle Association to be a negative factor than a positive one.
The poll, by Public Policy Polling, found that 39 percent of respondents said they would be less likely to vote for a candidate who was endorsed by the NRA. By contrast, only 26 percent said having the NRA's support would make them more likely to vote for someone. Another 32 percent said it wouldn't affect how they voted. Among independents -- a coveted voting bloc that often decides national elections -- 41 percent considered an NRA endorsement a negative, as opposed to 27 percent who said they viewed it as a positive.
"Politicians really don't have to be scared of the NRA," said Dean Debnam, president of Public Policy Polling. "Voters consider its support to be a negative thing."

Irrelevant statistics.

NRA members and gun enthusiasts in general are one issue voters, and roughly half are Democrats. Gun-grabbing is a political death sentence for a politician in a competitive district.
