Why Tea Partiers Are Boycotting Fox News

Is Fox News going soft?

That is what a number of Tea Party activists are saying and they are organizing a boycott to protest the conservative station’s coverage, especially what they view as the network’s relative silence in investigating the attacks on a diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.

“Particularly after the election, Fox keeps turning to the left,” said Stan Hjerlied, 75, of Fort Collins, Colo., and a participant in the boycott. He pointed to an interview Fox News CEO Roger Ailes gave after the election in which he said that the Republican Party and Fox News need to modernize, especially around immigration.“So we are really losing our only conservative network.”

The three-day boycott lasted Thursday morning through Sunday morning, and is the second time this group of activists have gone Fox-free in an effort to steer the coverage. Organizers say a two-day boycott earlier this month knocked 20 percent off of the network’s regular viewership.(A Daily Beast analysis of the same data showed that the boycott had little effect.)

A spokeswoman for Fox News did not respond to a request for comment.

A leader of the boycott, Kathy Amidon, of Nashville, declined an interview, instead directing The Daily Beast to a website, Benghazi-Truth. The website, a single-page, 23,000-word manifesto complete with multicolored fonts, supposedly incriminating videos of Fox News’s complicity in a coverup, and communist propaganda photographs, is kept by someone who identifies himself online as “Proe Graphique,” and who other members of boycott described as someone who works “in New York media.”

By way of explanation, the website reports:“People ask why not all mainstream media? Why just Boycott FOX? The answer, again, is that FOX needs the Tea Party/conservatives more than the conservatives need FOX after FOX turned left, basically selling out the people who made FOX successful in an attempt to earn an extra buck. FOX is extremely vulnerable to these boycotts while the rest of the MSM doesn’t need us at all, to speak of.”

http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/03...

it's real shame that reality has crept into the FOX rhetoric.

but losing an election that FOX said could not be lost will do that to people. well, except for those who are still living in Limbaughland.

Cops can get a search orderfor your home on the flimiest of reasons, which they routinely do.

The Democrats would be unable to make an issue of abortion unless religious nutjobs kept setting it up on a batting tee for the opposition to knock it out of the park.
How many people do you think would really want to go through with a pregnancy that they knew in advance would result in a severely retarded child?
Or a child of another race resulting from rape?
Get a clue!
The religious wackos are a small minority.
The number of abortions in this country is a disgrace and reflects on society becoming barbaric since most abortions can be prevented.

I can't recall one republican presidential candidate who voluntarily brought up the issue of abortion during the debates.

They can't ignore the question.

Abortion will never go away. It's the number of abortions and the progressive secularist push to legalize abortions at any phase of development that should concern all of us if, in fact, we are still a civilized society.

RNC 'Autopsy' Is Latest Stop On The GOP's Cycle Of Grieving

""Now that the Republican National Committee has filed its "autopsy," weighing in on what went wrong for the GOP in 2012, and where to go from here, discussing the various efforts that the Republican Party has undertaken to reckon with its problems, and renew itself for the 2014 push, have once again become popular. And the tension points are everywhere. The activist base doesn't trust the establishment. A younger, more inclusion-minded set of party operators, left on the sidelines of the 2012 election cycle, don't like the old guard, who ignored their warnings.

And in recent weeks, divisions have opened within the GOP's legislative caucuses, as insurgent hopefuls like Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) have become embroiled in internecine spats with veterans, like Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.). It's "moss-covered" elites versus "wacko bird" firebrands for the soul of the Republican Party.(And if the CPAC straw poll is any measure, then score Round One for the firebrands.)

But the discussion, as they say, is ongoing. And it's long been on the proverbial winding road, from the early gut-punch of the presidential election returns, to the blame game that came soon after, to the fitful first steps into an uncertain future. It's all part of a process -- specifically, the famous process of grieving, as established by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross."

Actually, in Connecticut, we have a balanced budget amendment, so there is one more state. The caveat is the being a Democrat state, the corrupt Democrats simply ignore the amendment and find ways to subvert the constitution.

Yeah Carol , quote one scientist who's talking about astrophysics not climate science.
Climate change is not phony baloney stupid, it's backed up by actual evidence. We've been recording temperatures for over a century and we've been studying carbon dioxide levels for nearly as long and there is a direct correlation between the two. The latest convert to what climatologists have known for a long time is Dr Richard A. Muller whose Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature project was funded by the Koch brothers to disprove global warming and human induced climate change. He stated after studying the data;
“Three years ago I identified problems in previous climate studies that, in my mind, threw doubt on the very existence of global warming. Last year, following an intensive research effort involving a dozen scientists, I concluded that global warming was real and that the prior estimates of the rate of warming were correct. I’m prior estimates of the rate of warming were correct. I’m now going a step further: Humans are almost entirely the cause.”
He further stated;
“that the average temperature of the earth’s land has risen by 2˝ degrees Fahrenheit over the past 250 years, including an increase of 1˝ degrees over the most recent 50 years. Moreover, it appears likely that essentially all of this increase results from the human emission of greenhouse gases.”
You constantly claim to be a religious person and yet you shill for the people who despoil Gods creation in order to enrich themselves while caring not a whit for the damage they cause that affects the rest of us. Idiots like you will be the death of this planet.
The effect of sunspots and the shift in the magnetic poles has become the scientific focus of climate change. Not to mention it's a natural phenomenon.

Your abortion stance with regard to politics is mindless because the issue is entirely in the hands of the courts. Electing "pro-life" politicians accomplishes nothing, particularly imbeciles like Todd Akin.

Your only hope is long-term changes in public opinion.

Led by Sen. Mike Enzi, Republicans Will Vote to Raise Taxes & Tax iTunes Downloads

One day I will have a scorecard for conservatives. And those Republicans who vote for the Marketplace Fairness Act in any form will be blackballed from that scorecard. Until then, I hope groups like Club for Growth and Heritage Action will score against it. It is a damnable piece of legislation whose backers are a who’s who of major corporations.

The number of murders isn't a disgrace??

The number of poor with no healthcare is a national disgrace.

The way we treat Americans is a national disgrace.

We have more people in prison, per capita, than any other major nation, including communist China and Russia. That's a national disgrace.

You stupidly want to force women to have babies they don't want and can't afford.

Then you offer nothing to help them, allowing these infants to grow up in poverty and end up committing crimes because they have nothing.

Your entire policy is a sham, designed to punish women, not help them.

The Supreme Court declared Abortion to be legal almost 40 years ago.

Yet you wingnuts have done your level best to make the law of the land impotent. Everyone sees it, old white men making laws for women.

And stupid old harpies like you imposing your moral values on others.

While you smoke, eat junk and expect the rest of us to pay for your medical expenses, all self destructive.

But have another piece of pie and a cigarette, you hypocrite!!

Jesus Christ hates people like you, who pervert his beliefs.
