We'd probably both be surprised at how many on the left share Akin's substituting "Bible teaching" for "biological reality" but the liberal media only cares about demonizing the right.
He made the mistake of using the word "legitimate" when talking about rape. Yes, it was a stupid thing to say. But he corrected it immediately and admitted he was wrong.
When liberals say something stupid or choose the wrong words, it's completely ignored and overlooked. Much less an apology forthcoming.
We all know it.
No. The problem with Akin and his kind are that they are so opposed to abortion under any circumstances that they are willing to claim that pregnancy does not result from "legitimate" rape. So they blame the victim for becoming pregnant.

The number of people opposed to abortion in the case of rape or incest is tiny, mostly religious idiots. Same in the case of a badly deformed or retarded child.

And those folks voted against Romney because of his religion.

Useless baggage.

Socialism/Democrat Policies - GREECE/CYPRUS.

So irresponsible they resort to taking money from people.

Banks closed for a week.

Gas shortages.

Wrong. The owners have surrendered a portion of their property rights in applying for and accepting a license. They are no longer free to substitute their own desires for state law. The "authorities" (the cops) have no right to order you to do anything for declining to provide ID unless you are "of youthful appearance" as dictated by the state.

Because a lot of people don't get Mormonism. It's out of the mainstream of traditional religions and didn't pop up until 1820, not distinguishing itself until the 1830s and 1840s, compared to traditional religions having been around for several centuries.
So, you prefer Islam because it has a longer history?

So, you prefer Roman Catholicism with its long history of abuses, the current homosexual pedophilia epidemic being mild compared to the Inquisition?

Given that Washington appears to be a police state, we may be splitting hairs. As Galt reads the state regulations, the owner of the establishment may request identification, but is not required to do so.
In the long run, tavern owners who act like a-holes will go bankrupt.
Your bigger problem may be importing liquor. If your cousin in Portland gave you a bottle when you visited over Christmas and you brought it back to Washington, you may be guilty of a serious crime.
"Jonh Galt"
You are correct, the owner may request ID, he is not required to but if a person is caught in the bar without ID by the authority the bar is subject to fines. Do I like the law? No.
No problem in importing a bottle of spirits, I go to Canada on a regular basis and often bring back a bottle or two, I declare it at the border. No problems. I know folks in southwestern Washington and cross the border to purchase spirits. Do not know of a case where there was a problem.

Thanks, EasyEed. Galt mostly agrees.

However, cite for us the section of Washington law and/or regulations that requires all patrons purchasing liquor to produce identification. Galt submits that your observations are based on policies of the establishment, not on law. The law states that license holders MAY request identification, not SHALL request identification.

You're jumping all over the place and making no sense. Truthfully, I'm a little disappointed.

You asked me why I said Romney's mormonism didn't help.

My response should have been an adequate answer. There was nothing else implied.
