Barack Obama, our next President

Where were those nukes??? Where were all the poison gases & biological weapons & those labs?
Those that voted to give Bush the authority did so based on the evidence Bush provided. Evidence that was sown to be wrong. Evidence that was cherry picked from a pool of reports that included those that said Sadam was not making nukes or making biological weapons or poison gas.

You really do need to go back and look up quotes by every single democrat in 1998 including President Bill Clinton who couldn't emphasize enough that Saddam was an "immediate threat". In fact, they were ready to take him down back then. Every single one of them.

Clinton actually bombed Iraq three years before 9/11.

What could have possibly changed in just 3 or 4 years? Besides a conservative president and becoming weasels for political gain?

Radio talk show host Andrew Wilkow rejects the notion that conservatism has some stereotypical look, like Alex P. Keaton dressed in khaki pants and a blue blazer.

“What does conservatism look like? It doesn’t look like anything to me,” Wilkow, who also hosts a TV show on Glenn Beck’s The Blaze network, told The Daily Caller.

....Today,“there are a lot of sleeved, tattooed conservatives who ride motorcycles who are thirsting to be reached out to,” he added.

6 Big Takeaways From The RNC’s Incredible 2012 Autopsy

4. Epistemic Closure Is Real

There’s been a long running debate on the intellectual right about whether the GOP suffers from “epistemic closure,” a condition in which conservatives block out all dissenting voices until eventually their own arguments sound nonsensical to anyone who doesn’t already agree with them. The RNC report concludes this is a real and growing problem.

“The Republican Party needs to stop talking to itself,” its authors write.“We have become expert in how to provide ideological reinforcement to like-minded people, but devastatingly we have lost the ability to be persuasive with, or welcoming to, those who do not agree with us on every issue. Instead of driving around in circles on an ideological cul-de-sac, we need a Party whose brand of conservatism invites and inspires new people to visit us.”

As if the suggestion that Republicans are close-minded isn’t wading into delicate enough territory, the same section suggests that the party’s obsessive focus on Ronald Reagan may be harmful as well.

“Ronald Reagan is a Republican hero and role model who was first elected 33 years ago — meaning no one under the age of 51 today was old enough to vote for Reagan when he first ran for President,” it reads. It approvingly quotes columnists Michael Gerson and Pete Wehner, who wrote last month,“It is no wonder that Republican policies can seem stale; they are very nearly identical to those offered up by the Party more than 30 years ago.”

The problem is, you have nothing most Americans don't already have, so whom do you plan on fighting till the end against? Sometimes you assholes need to listen when you speak, but is more than obvious you have problems multi tasking so you get a pass! How does it feel to be the slave & not the slave owner? To work your ass off & the profits of your labor benefits someone else. Now you believe in reparations don't you? We can discuss todays equivalent of 40 acres & a mule for you. How about a city sidewalk & a cardboard box!

if a shoe falls in a forest and no one is there to hear it...

if Obama finally says something that many on here have been posting for years about Israel and no Obamabots on Topix admit they were wrong...

FINALLY:

Obama anonymous
March 17, 2013

‘Hi, my name is Barack, and I have an Iran problem.”

Those weren’t the words President Obama used in an interview with an Israeli TV station before he sets off for Jerusalem — but they might as well have been. For as anyone familiar with 12-step programs can attest, the first and most critical step is to admit that you have a problem.

In that spirit we welcome the president’s admission to Channel 2 both that it would take only “a year or so for Iran to actually develop a nuclear weapon” and that we obviously “don’t want to cut it too close.”

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu must be smiling. For Obama’s new formulation is not only a departure from the vague generalities of before, it’s closer to the language Bibi used at his speech last September before the United Nations.

There, Netanyahu famously diagrammed a bomb and suggested that Iran could be close to 90 percent of the way toward making a nuclear weapon by later this year, a “red line” that Israel refuses to let Iran cross.

Exactly what Obama is prepared to do about it isn’t yet clear. But his admission is a good first step.

It’ll be interesting to see how Netanyahu responds — and, even more, how Iran does.

No, it was based on the evidence the CIA collected that the White House decided to present.

Again, Bill Clinton did NOT invade Iraq. Why? Because there was no roof Sadam actually was doing these things. Only suspicion.

Any bombing Clinton did was in response to a Iraq action. Not some fairy tale about aluminum pipes & yellow cake.

Everyone knows Bush & Cheney wanted this war & they worked hard to come up with the excuse & ignored any intel that indicated otherwise.

The movie, The Nativity, was the most accurate depiction of biblical times and Jesus' true heritage.

He definitely looked Jewish. And I mean Jewish in the Middle Eastern sense.

And yes, my pretend namesake, you won't find any historical scholar who denies Jesus' existence.

If you do, they're out of the mainstream and wrong.

WASHINGTON — Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) moved this week to hold a noncontroversial flood insurance bill hostage until the Senate agrees that life begins at fertilization.

The bill, which would financially boost the National Flood Insurance Program on the cusp of hurricane season, had been expected to pass easily in the Senate. But since Paul on Monday offered an unrelated “fetal personhood” amendment, which would give legal protections to fetuses from the moment of fertilization, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) is threatening to halt progress on the legislation...
Senator Paul should propose an amendment that prohibits flood insurance proceeds from being used to rebuild in the flood plain.
