I have a suggestion. Why don't you try living on government assistance for a few years & tell me how much fun it is.
Every government program has it's abusers. You rail against some poor person getting a couple hundred dollars a month yet military contractors can be ripping off the government for billions. Ask Halliburton.
And really, when are you right whiners going to realize not everyone on assistance is not a slacker or an abuser.
Your party send millions on the rolls of assistance with the Bush recession. Now you whine about it. Pathetic
Stupid Duh A Vey-

My "partay" did not send millions anywhere.

Why do you insist on projecting your ignorance onto others?

I did not say everyone was an abuser or a slacker-but there are MANY these days. Far too many takers, with no honest intention of ever giving anything back, or trying to actually live OFF the systems.

Get a clue. I lived hard and poor a lot of years myself, so choke on that bullshit.

Unfortunately what you and your article fail to acknowledge is that "FEDERAL INCOME TAX" is the tax collected and used to fund programs like welfare and SNAP. The very same programs that most who do not pay these taxes take advantage of.
This is just how stupid the right is.

Expecting to collect taxes from welfare recipients.

Lets see, collect money to send to the government from the money the government just sent them.

Brilliance of the left. Lets spend money we don't have on individuals who we will get no return.

I don't want to collect taxes from welfare recipients you dolt. I just don't want them living off of my wages to support their sloth.

Why should I leave? We, the hardworking businessmen, engineers, scientists, etc. BUILT this country. Parasites like you didn't. YOU and the rest of the leeches should be put on an island somewhere. That would be fun to watch: all the liberals whining about free health care to a bunch of sea gulls.

Since I'm a terrific guy I think you could stick around, but STOP the whining and accept what we conservatives decide to give you out of the goodness of our hearts. And I tell you what-- if I have to pay for your health care, your kids' free school lunches, your 2 years of unemployment, Section 8 housing, EBT cards etc. I want SOMETHING in return. How about once a month you lefties take turns getting on your knees and kissing my butt? Fair? It won't take but 5 minutes...

CBPP Statement: March 12, 2013

Statement by Robert Greenstein, President, On Chairman Ryan’s Budget Plan

When House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan released his previous budget last year, I wrote that for most of the past half century, its extreme nature would have put it outside the bounds of mainstream discussion. It was, I wrote,“Robin Hood in reverse — on steroids,” because it would have produced the largest redistribution of income from bottom to top in modern U.S. history. Ryan’s new budget is just as extreme. Its cuts in programs for low-income and vulnerable Americans appear as massive as in last year’s budget, and its tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans could be larger than in last year’s.

In addition, in critical ways the budget is exceedingly vague — and, as a result, its claim to reach balance in ten years is hard to take seriously. It leaves unspecified hundreds of billions of dollars in budget cuts as well as the several trillion dollars of needed tax expenditure savings to pay for its proposed deep cuts in income tax rates. Thus, the budget’s fiscal claims rest on massive magic asterisks.

And the GOP response?
Wahhhhh! Clinton did it!
Did Clinton freeze Bush's brain for six weeks? Prove that and you have a case.
I remember standing in an Embassy Suites hotel room in San Jose CA in 1999 taking my tie off and watching the evening news on TV. BJ Clinton came on suddenly and, with his patented stern look, informed us that he had no choice but to launch cruise missiles into the Sudan and Bagdad because of an imminent terrorist threat.

This was THE NIGHT BEFORE MONICA LEWINSKY WAS SCHEDULED TO TESTIFY about BJ having his genitalia sucked and ejaculating in her face.

I remember thinking how pi$$ed I would be if I were a Sudanese or Iraqi, having an American president obviously trying to distract the US public's attention by bombing my country.

Two years later, where was OBL from? Oh yeah-- the Sudan.

As for blaming a previous president, I think your Boy Wonder has everybody beat. How much longer do we have to hear that the reason his socialist agenda isn't working is because it's BUSH'S FAULT?
