WASHINGTON (Reuters)- Not everybody can say they met with the president of the United States. And hardly anybody can say they piloted their own 747 airliner halfway around the world to get to the meeting.
So it was noteworthy that the Sultan of Brunei Hassanal Bolkiah, known for his vast oil wealth, sat down for talks with President Barack Obama in the Oval Office on Tuesday.
"His Majesty himself has led his country for 40 years now and he's gone through nine U.S. presidents. I won't ask him which one was his favorite," quipped Obama.

Jeb Bush has been ripping off the government his whole life, the whole family has, and still wants to.
Gov. Rick Scott is in a tight spot with teachers.
To score points with rank-and-file educators, Scott has made $2,500 pay raises for classroom teachers a top budget priority.
But to stay in their good graces — and possibly win their votes in 2014 — Scott will need to bat down a number of education proposals moving through the Florida Legislature, including the hot-button “parent trigger” bill and a pitch to increase facilities funding for charter schools.
There’s just one problem. Opposing those bills will land Scott in the doghouse with Republicans and put him at odds with former Gov. Jeb Bush, whose nonprofit foundation has driven Florida’s education agenda for more than a decade.
What’s a governor with sagging poll numbers to do?

lily is the one who is really obsessed with Carol. lily posts as several people because she is too embarrassed to post as herself and hurl the venom and harassment she does as "lily".

lily has the typical juvenile delinquent/arrested brain & maturity development issue most liberals have.

Odd. We didn't know all your friends who are teachers/Democrats working in Elementary Schools had a Sistine Chapel there.

You really need to fast forward about three decades, bag jowl.

Don't be stupid Galt__well maybe that's too much of a request eh?

Florida is going to remain a Republican stronghold no matter who the governor is. Those in the know, like me, have been hearing rumblings about Scott being ousted by a far stronger and more experienced Republican named Adam Putnam.

Whatever happens, Florida will remain a huge state with all varieties of residents/citizens/voters and a mess of folks from other states/countries who both own and vacation here.

Well, I guess the number would be more like 100% wouldn't it? I mean, off-shore accounts and tax-breaks for oil companies, tax-free factory farms, Saudi investors, ranchers paying nothing to run cattle of Federal land, Japanese loggers cutting 600 year old Redwoods out of the National Forests on fire reduction permits, aren't all these things a form of welfare in the end? And when I say,'in the end,' I mean, of course, all the way up your anus til it gets to your lungs...
Sour grapes, if you had enough for accounts in the Caymans or offshore or wherever, you would be trying to hide it also. The Giverment taxes too much.
Please don't even try to pass yourself off as Carol from Orlando, you can't pull it off, and you're a thief and a cheat to boot..

This is a loophole Republicans refuse to close. It is a loophole that Obama wants to close.

Paul Ryan's new budget calls for making all foreign profit tax free.

I wonder where companies will build? Here & get taxed or overseas without taxes.

Maybe a real smart guy like you can figure it out.

I don't read very many of the Carol posts these days. Too much sadness!
