The goal is to reduce the emissions by reducing the use of fossil fuels.
Over the past 10 years, I have cut my use of oil by half & drastically reduced my greenhouse gas emissions.
What have you done?
If you have electric heat, which is extremely inefficient and costly, you are hardly "green."

Why not buy all your electricity from "green" sources (as if you really get "green" power)?

more from the gun nut PR campaign.
The National Rifle Association's field representative for New York was barred from having guns after an altercation with his wife in 2010, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.
Richard D’Alauro was charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child and a noncriminal harassment charge, the report said. He pleaded guilty to the harassment charge. Police at the time confiscated dozens of guns from D’Alauro's home on Long Island, according to the report.
More from the Daily News:
The judge continued an order of protection against D’Alauro for one year, banning him from owning or purchasing firearms until Oct. 3, 2013. At that time, D’Alauro, who is 62, will be allowed to rearm, and the police will be required to return his guns — a prospect his former wife says she finds terrifying.

HOW GOES DETROIT, SO GOES AMERICA

Regardless of the lies the Administration and media are telling us, we are sliding into the abyss.

* Wal-Mart executives called the start to the year “a total disaster.”

* Disposable income for working Americans suffered the worst drop since record-keeping began in 1959.

* GM dealer inventory (cars sitting on lots) is the second highest in history.

* The Federal Reserve Bank reported 35 percent of student loan borrowers under the age of 30 are at least 90 days late on their payments — 35 percent?

* U.S. families with a head of household under the age of 30 have a poverty rate of 37 percent.

* Almost 50 percent of Americans have less than $500 in savings.

Folks, the U.S. economy is going down like the Hindenburg.

Why is this happening? You can see America’s future by studying Detroit. Barack Obama’s policies are damaging the entire U.S. economy, the same way that socialist policies (Democrats call them “progressive”) have destroyed Detroit.

Detroit is a microcosm for everything ailing our economy.

For almost five consecutive decades, Detroit has been run by liberal Democrats following the exact policies Obama is now forcing on the U.S. economy: bigger government, more government spending, out-of-control entitlements, too many government employees, obscene pensions, high taxes, too much debt and an economy run based on “fairness” and social justice.

Just look at the results; you’ll get sick to your stomach. The Obama economic model has been on display forever in Detroit (1961 was the last time Detroit had a Republican in charge). The result is a bankrupt Third World hellhole in the middle of America.

* The city has debt and liabilities of an unimaginable $14 billion.

* Almost one-third of the housing units in Detroit are vacant.

* Detroit is ranked America’s Most Dangerous City for the fourth year in a row, with violent crime five times higher than the national average.

* 34.5 percent of households get food stamps.

* The mayor recently admitted recently that true unemployment tops 50 percent.

* 54 percent of all children in Detroit live in poverty.

* Almost 50 percent of the adults in Detroit are “functionally illiterate.”

Under Obama, these kinds of results are now happening across America. The only difference is that Democrats had a 50-year head start with Detroit.

Well, here we go.

The United Nations Security Council slapped new sanctions on North Korea over its latest nuclear test hours after Pyongyang threatened to exercise its "right to pre-emptive nuclear attack" Thursday.

South Korea is now threatening retaliation.

North Koreans' bark is historically worse than its bite but South Korea’s envoy Kim Sook spoke of the threat as being "very hostile".

Also, concerns over dirty bombs being smuggled into South Korea and chemical weapons are being reported.

The question becomes is Kim-Sung-un really that crazy?

After watching "Camp 14, Total Control Zone" and the horrors he inflicts on his own people including torturing children and whipping pregnant woman to death, it wouldn't surprise me.

My home does use electricity. The emissions from the power utilized to run the pump & compressor on my HVAC is significantly lower than if I had continued to burn heating oil.
Again, the word is REDUCTION.
Furthermore, I pay extra to get a significant portion of my electricity from green sources.
Eventually. I will add either a wind mill or solar panels.
So yes, I walk the walk.
Excellent!

With little debate, lobbyists slipped language into an FAA reauthorization bill earlier this year that will allow some 30,000 drones to fly over domestic airspace in coming years. While the shift may lead to a marked loss of privacy for millions of Americans, one congressman is bragging about carrying the drone industry’s water.

Congressman Rick Berg (R-ND), a first-term lawmaker now running for U.S. Senate, recorded a message for the Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVS), touting his efforts to insert language into legislation that would allow drones to share airspace and runways for domestic test flights.“It’s clear to me that expanding the use of unmanned systems hold enormous potential for our state and our country,” said Berg in his taped video for the AUVS lobby group.

As Republic Report has noted, AUVS is funded largely by military contractors that build and operate drones in Iraq and Afghanistan. The group has doubled its lobbying expenses in recent years, and managed to develop a bipartisan pro-drone caucus in Congress, of which Berg is a member and Congressman Buck McKeon (R-CA) is co-chair.

This year, Berg was slated to attend yet another drone lobby event. This one, titled “From Battlefield to Farm Field,” featured Senator Kent Conrad (D-ND), Rep. Collin Peterson (D-MN), and taped messages from Sens. Al Franken (D-MN) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN).

In one sense, Berg’s positioning as a loyal ally of the drone industry can be seen as an effort to serve the interests of his state, which has several airfields that could be used for drone testing. However, Berg is also fundraising around the clock for his Senate race, and his legislative favors have been noticed by lobbyists with companies that make unmanned vehicles.

Lockheed Martin, maker of the RQ-170 Sentinel weaponized drone, as well as Boeing, makers of the Phantom Eye UAV surveillance drone, have contributed funds to Berg’s campaign.

North Dakota has the particular distinction of being the first state to use drones for a civillian police matter. With Berg’s help, it won’t be the last.

AUVSI more than doubled its lobbying budget in 2011, spending $280,000 to work on the FAA bill that authorizes the expanded use of drones outside the military. As a PowerPoint presentation recently obtained by Republic Report shows, the industry group all but wrote the legislation. "Our suggestions were often taken word-for-word," it says.

No wonder. Political action committees affiliated with drone manufacturers donated a total of $2.3 million to the nearly 60 members of the bipartisan House Unmanned Systems Caucus, according to First Street Research. Most of that, 77 percent, went to Republicans.

The top recipient was Rep. Buck McKeon (R-Calif.), the caucus co-chair who also heads the House Armed Services Committee. He received $176,500 in donations from major defense contractors, including Northrop Grumman, whose Global Hawk drone is made in his district.

Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.), chairman of the House Science, Space, and Technology Subcommittee, came in second with $112,000 from drone-related PACs. His district includes the Army's Redstone Arsenal, which conducts drone research.
