Ronald Reagan was “The Great Communicator.” So then, pray tell, what does that make John Boehner?

....Boehner, along with McConnell, Reid, and Pelosi, met with Obama this past Friday afternoon, ostensibly to discuss the sequester, but in actuality a staged event to give the White House additional talking points. Immediately after, Boehner met with David Gregory for an exclusive interview, the only one that he gave for the all-important weekend news cycle..

So, why, please tell me, why NBC? What genius decided that was the BEST forum.(Possibly the Speaker’s media guru is, like someone formerly with the Romney campaign, one who believes that the media isn’t really biased?) The entire network is completely in the tank for the Obama administration. If they wanted to avoid FOX ( and the stigma of seeming to seek a “safe haven,”) CBS or ABC would have been far better choices. Both are more balanced than NBC, and have actually challenged the administration on some issues. As just one option, ABC’s Rick Klein would have been an excellent choice.

Boehner is clearly not comfortable in this element ( possibly because he can’t smoke on camera?) Gregory dominated him, interrupting often, at one point telling Boehner,“Mr. Speaker, that’s not just true.” Gregory ( though admittedly it is hard to fathom) actually came across as the one with far more gravitas. Boehner diminishes the position, the authority, of the Speaker. Unlike Reagan, Boehner unfortunately does come across as simple, and worse, he is most definitely NOT likable.

So why then does he take to the airways?

Boehner banally recited the same talking points, almost ad nauseum.“The House has twice acted, it’s time for the Senate to act. Washington doesn’t have a revenue problem, we have a spending problem.” Yada, yada, yada…..

The Speaker is known for his one minute ( or less ) press conferences. That is probably the extent of his ability to communicate. Here, given 15 minutes to reach the American people, he ceded control to Gregory, and was completely unable to offer any cogent explanation of the Republican philosophy of conservative governance.

http://www.redstate.com/gawken/2013/03/03/ron...

and i don't find it ironic at all that a complete idiot is in charge of a Republican House in 2013.

which has to beg the question...why is the Tea Party mad at John? i'd think they'd embrace one of their own.

Why is that Realtime has to be told these kinds of things?

Funny thing that a lot of overweight people never get diabetes and others only 10 or 15 pounds overweight have to live with it, myself included.

I have never been an overweight person my entire life. After my pregnancy, it took about three years to lose the weight I had put on but that was the only time I ever had a "weight problem".

Gov. Rick Scott came into office on a conservative wave, promising to change Tallahassee, fight President Barack Obama's health care overhaul and make Florida as business friendly as he could.

He shunned the press, announced his first budget at a tea party rally in a Central Florida church and entered his first legislative session like the powerful CEO he was before spending more than $70 million of his own money to win office in 2010.

What a difference two years can make.

Scott is preparing to give his third State of the State address Tuesday, and while the major theme — jobs — will still be the same, Scott has undergone a transformation. He's cozying up to teachers instead of antagonizing them. He's learned the art of compromise with the Legislature. He's even cooperating with the federal government to put the president's health care plan into place.

"He's really the Benedict Arnold of the tea party/patriot movement in Florida. Most conservatives feel betrayed by him and members have been calling me and saying they want him fired," said Everett Wilkinson of the South Florida Tea Party, who once called Scott a rock star. "He's flip-flopped on such major areas. It shows how a man can be corrupted with D.C. and Tallahassee."

The entire week after the hurricane, Obama took front and center stage looking very presidential. Romney virtually disappeared from view during that same week. Right before the election.

Why I say Obama is the luckiest man alive.

Didn't help that Christie kissed him either.

Obama is the worst economic President ever. No President since Roosevelt has presided over such a dismal growth and unemployment rate. 2M+ jobs lost and this man is preaching gun control and immigration. It is obvious this man doesn't give a crap about the economy.

Now the sequester comes along although both sides knew about it over a year ago and we have another crisis. And both sides are to blame for any outcomes not positive although the media will make sure the spin is against the conservatives.

Both parties represent the special interests, getting fat off of perks and becoming millionaires many times over while in office. And we foolish Americans keep electing them. We have created this situation.

You may say Obama isn't like that. Actions speak louder than words and Obama's actions are every bit special interest and letting the rich court him. He talks a good game and may of you have bought this crap. I can appreciate voting for "anyone other than Bush" in 2008. What I can't understand is how this failure got re-elected.

Shame on us for we deserve the hate our children and grandchildren will have for us for our poor stewardship.

According to the American Diabetes Association, "you inherit a predisposition to the disease then something in your environment triggers it."

If I lost just 10 pounds, maybe 15, I would no longer have to take the medication. Did it once a while back. Doesn't seem fair but that's the way it is.

So Illinois, what has this President done for you?

Illinois unemployment is higher than when he took office. The most recent information shows that Illinois residents getting food stamps is approaching 1M households and about twice that amount of people getting fed by the government.

Illinois state debt is the fourth highest in the nation, with each state resident owing $21K+. The credit/bond rating for the state is 49th.

And Illinois residents keep electing the same party to office?
