In states that don't have the exchange there will be no requirement to have insurance.
You people read this very carefully and see just what kind of scam is being run here!!!!
For example, a family of 4 headed by a 40 year old making $35,000 a year will get a $10,742 tax credit toward an annual premium of $12,130 policy. They'd have to pay $1388, about 4 percent of their income or about $115 a month.
A similar hypothetical family making $90,000 will get a much smaller tax credit,$3580, meaning they will have to pay $8550 of the same $12,130 policy. That works out to more than 9 percent of their income, or about $710 a month.
Redistribution of wealth!!! We are getting scammed big time!!
That was from HuffPost by the way!!!!!
We were talking about medicaide and the middle class, not The ACA.
Qualification for the medicaide expansion is 133% of the poverty level.

The 'tax credit' although called that is simply government assistance and goes to the insurer. You will not get a check.

Help will be given in covering the copay to those who need assistance.

The American people are getting hosed!!!

If a straight white male murdered a gay white male; would it be a hate crime?
Why are you so ignorant?
You don't realize that gays are the victims of gay bashing from straights from every race? Or do you think gays deserve to be murdered because they are gay?
Hate crimes have no color or race, and that gate swings both ways.

People are murdered for every irrational reason under the sun.

Aren't all of them hate crimes?

best headline of the large bunch.....

Daily Call Girl Smacks Down Daily Caller

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2013/03/...

Assuming that Carlson doesn't break character to issue an apology or correction, we're now faced with a he-said, she-said between a Daily Caller report and the sworn testimony of a foreign escort. From where we're sitting, the more reliable source seems obvious.

Murder is murder no matter what the reason. Are you saying killing a gay or black person should be more horrendous just because they were gay or black? A killer of a gay or black should be punished more than a killer of a white or straight person? I believe that to be discrimination!

All crimes are hate crimes.

Uh I guess you haven't been paying attention. The states are planning on dumping the poor on the private insurers and off Medicaid as soon as the federal money runs out. In three years. Florida included.

Eman claimed that the middle class are not denied medical care; that was the subject. Talking about the past and right now, The ACA is not in effect yet; and, don't know if you heard that the Republican legislature is blocking Rick Scotts acceptance of ACA funds.
As it would stand, if Rick Scott can accept the federal funding for the medicaide expansion; the qualifications are 133% of the poverty level.
All of this is unnecessary if we would have single payer healthcare paid through taxation. It relieves the employers responsibility and being covered is not attached to employment.
Hopefully we will get to that.

here will be no requirement to buy insurance if the state does not set up an exchange. It's right there in the HuffPost story. If Florida does open an exchange it will be only for three years until the federal money runs out then the state is going to dump the poor off of Medicaid onto the private insurers. No single payer ever!!!

I've never asked. Just what would you tax to come up with the enormous amount of money to pay for that monstrosity? There just simply isn't enough money to do what you want.

The DNA of the democratic party is inbred with hate, ignorance and racism. Mass killings by democrats or Chicago ghetto style killings from your "Culture of Violence" are not by angry old white men conservatives clinging to their guns and religion.

The inner city ghettos and projects of modern America and Detroit's urban preserve are the breeding ground 'Blue Magnets' of hate-filled liberalism, racism, ignorance, poverty, abortion, and America's killing fields of blacks.

I'm unsure of something. Just where does the $10,742 and the $3580 come from to pay the 'tax credits' the government is sending the insurers.

The government would set the prices for everything; the doctors, hospitals etc submit for payment; the government negotiates the prices of pharmaceuticals as well. Costs are high because of greed.
