Democrats have defended President Obama's budget initiatives, but voted "no" in unison last month when Republicans’ brought the president's plan to the floor last month. Democrats said Republicans were trying to embarrass Democrats by putting out his topline tax and spending numbers on the floor, but failed to specify the policies behind them.

The proposal, which was defeated 414-0, was introduced by U.S. Rep. Mick Mulvaney, a South Carolina Republican.

“The Mulvaney budget was supposedly based on President Obama’s budget, but it really wasn’t,” said U.S. Rep. Brad Miller, a Raleigh Democrat.“President Obama publicly urged that Democratic members vote against the Mulvaney budget as an impostor.”

Miller said the Mulvaney amendment would allow tax increases on the middle class, which the Obama budget does not.

Republicans charged Democrats with being afraid to vote for Obama's proposed tax increases and extra spending. Mulvaney said his amendment was no gimmick, but a nonpartisan analysis of the budget.

Andrew High, a spokesman for U.S. Rep. David Price, a Chapel Hill Democrat, said Republicans are looking to distract voters from their own budget proposals that give tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans.

“This amendment was not the President’s full budget; in fact it’s barely even a spoof of the President’s budget,” High said.“Even if it were, no matter the majority party, Congress never accepts a President’s budget request without changing a word.”

so here's some more right wing propaganda.
Has Obama finally broken the GOP’s will?
Did Obama’s re-election break what was left of Republican will?
Consider some recent events. Republicans raised taxes in the fiscal cliff deal, and now, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell has pushed through a tax increase to pay for a new transportation bill.
Virginia GOP Rep. Scott Rigell will travel with Obama to Newport News Shipbuilding, where the president will warn of job losses associated with sequester cuts.
Republican Governors like Rick Scott and (reportedly) Chris Christie are accepting ObamaCare’s Medicaid expansion.
Meanwhile, Chuck Hagel is on the verge of being the Secretary of Defense, prominent Republicans are signing up to support gay marriage, and Obama is set to meet with Sens. McCain and Graham about immigration reform.
They were once so defiant.

The shit you nitwits post is all lies, all the time.

You follow people like Dweeb, who repeats the same really ignorant lies, even after they've been debunked repeatedly.

All your side has is lies.

You do the same thing.

You come to conclusions without any factual input.

Terri Schiavo was a prime example. You were all for Big Government sticking it's nose into a personal matter, even as you decry Big Government.

You believed the nonsense from her parents, when doctors said for years that she had no brain activity. But you supported Bush intervening in a personal matter.

And your side made complete assholes of themselves, as the autopsy proved that the poor woman had no brain matter left.

Cost Senator Bill Frisk (R) his political career!! Cost Republiclowns lots of independent votes!!

You're doing the same here. Making accusations without any factual support, just FAUX stupidity and prejudice.

Carry on. You're exactly why most Americans have rejected the hatred and bias from Republiclown white supremacists.

You said for 4 years that Americans would reject Obama.

But they re-elected him!!

Proof positive that you are completely out of touch with your fellow Americans.

And Rick Scott has signed onto Expanded Medicare!!

Your own Teabagger heroes have turned against you, nitwit!!

BTW, House Republiclowns caved and approved the Violence Against Women Act, after trying for months to water it down.

Apparently they figured out how many votes they were losing by continuing the War on Women.

Obama's approval is far higher than the Republiclown House, and he is beating them like a drum.

The sequester will cost the Republiclowns dearly!!

I'm lovin' it!!

Lets give Obama the power to assign an overseer to each one of the dumvbass Republicans who voted yes yes yes under George Freakin Bush that created the situation in the first place.

FOX newbie....

Conservatives, frankly, have become purveyors of outrage instead of preachers for a cause. Instead of showing how increasing government harms people, how free markets help people, and how conservative policies benefit all Americans, we scream “Benghazi” and “Fast & Furious.”

We’re off key and off message. We’ve become professional victims dialed up to 10 on the outrage meter. Who the hell wants to listen to conservatives whining and moaning all the time about the outrage du jour? Seriously? Mitt Romney ran a campaign on just how bad things are, but he was rejected by a majority of Americans who felt like he really did not care about them and really had no plans to improve their lives.

Bitching about Benghazi doesn’t do that either.

Be mad at me if you need to. Feel free to express your moral outrage and indignity at me. But then shut up and focus on convincing people not that the President of the United States duly elected by a majority of the American people is a traitor willfully trying to destroy the country, but that our policies will allow people to make the most of their lives and not be dependent on the rising and falling fortunes of Washington, D.C.

Be happy. The anger is unbecoming of the party of Lincoln and Reagan.

And if you must be angry, don’t be angry at a President doing what he set out to do, be angry at a Republican Establishment not doing ... well ... much of anything.

He's headed to CPAC, wonder if they'll play that Beatles song "I'm a Loser"?

The bottom line is this: The Republicans don't care about the deficit or debt; their ultimate goal is to put the government into so much debt so that they can destroy social security and medicare.
Their goal is to eliminate government and privatize everything; they say they don't want taxes, but, they'll raise fees. That's what Romney did in Mass. raise fees on everything; who does that affect? The wealthy? No.
They are scoundrels and Carol et all are not bright enough to get it.

An Inconvenient Truth: The Bush Administration Was a Disaster

....Lindberg gets some important things right, including his argument that the counter-culture of the ’60s is now simply the culture–and that political resistance to the sexual revolution is therefore doomed. The trouble with his analysis is that it operates almost entirely on the level of ideas. In consequence, it misses the main strength of the contemporary Left: the evident failure of (ostensibly) conservative government under the Bush Administration.

According to Lindberg, conservatives want to “stay in conditions in which liberty can thrive and the market can work its wonders in creating prosperity.” That’s certainly how establishment conservatives see themselves. But who else believes that they actually live under such conditions, or at least did until recently?

Most Americans remember the Bush years as a period of expanding government, ruinous war, and economic collapse. They voted for Obama the first time as a repudiation of those developments. Many did so a second time because most Republicans continue to pretend that they never happened.

Yet Lindberg’s essay contain only oblique references to the growth of government spending in the 2000s, to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, to the housing bubble, or to the long-term stagnation of wages. And, as far as I can tell, there’s no acknowledgment that self-proclaimed conservatives played any role in these calamities. It’s simply not credible to argue that conservatives want to preserve liberty and prosperity when neither has flourished under their favored politicians or policies. No analysis of the strength of Left is complete unless it is combined with an account of the implosion of the Right.
