Come on be honest. Harry Reid and the democrat controlled senate is sitting on more than 30 bills including a budget measure. Why will senate democrats not do their job and vote?
Why should the house pass more bills and watch them get no action in the senate?

Obama and his band of drunken Democrats are like alcoholics when it comes to spending. If they can spend every penny possible, they play head games and get all funky.
Now lets see, you righties love distorting the facts to hide your own incompetence but the truth be known Obama has cut government spending by more than any other president in history. Including your own misplaced icon Reagan who was the biggest spender of the all.

Check the graphs and see who spends the most Repubs vs Democrats.

Being a foxbot, all they talk about is $$$ not the real percentage of growth or GDP. So in otherwords if Obama spent more than Lincoln in dollar terms he is a big spender. That is the logic of a foxbot.
Secondly in all the survey's conducted on where the money should be cut from. The only standout is cutting aid to the world's needy & the State dept. That would surely lift the US world standing, keeping in mind you righties screamed all the way to hell & back about budget cuts to security in US embassies. Yet in the surveys its second on your wish list. So this is a prime example of right wing nut jobs running around without a f..g clue.

After meeting with congressional leaders from both parties about sequestration spending cuts that take effect Friday, President Obama mapped out future negotiations with Republicans, which he hopes will yield an alternative deficit reduction package that includes higher taxes and cuts to Medicare.

In a key revelation, though, he identified a way for Republicans to prevent the sequestration fight from precipitating a government shutdown.

Crucially, Obama said he’s prepared to sign legislation at the end of March to fund the government if Republicans adhere to the spending levels they agreed to during the debt limit fight in 2011.

“It’s the right thing to do to make sure we don’t have a government shutdown,” Obama said.“If the bill that arrives on my desk is reflective of the commitments that we previously made, then obviously I would sign it.”

His acknowledgment is important for reasons explored in this article. If House Republicans can’t pass a government funding bill that sets overall spending at levels agreed to in the Budget Control Act — funding that would automatically be reduced because of sequestration — then the government will shutdown and the pressure Republicans feel to cut a deal that both averts sequestration and keeps the government running will intensify.

“We agreed to a certain amount of money that was going to be spent each year, and certain funding levels for our military, our education system, and so forth,” Obama said.“If we stick to that deal, I will be supportive.… The sequester are additional cuts on top of that, and by law, until Congress takes the sequester away we have to abide by those additional cuts, but there’s no reason why we should have another crisis by shutting the government down in addition to these arbitrary spending cuts.”

Thus, if Republicans try to rejigger the sequestration cuts such that they make the lower overall spending levels permanent, but rescind its indiscriminate cutting mechanism and thus remove the pressure on Congress to pass a balanced alternative, they’ll set off a government shutdown fight.

But if Republicans can pass a government funding bill that adheres to spending levels agreed to and set in 2011, then the government will stay open and the fight over sequestration will continue indefinitely.

However the fight over ongoing funding of the government shakes out, Obama said he hopes public pressure convinces Republicans to relent on revenues so that he and Congress can replace sequestration with an alternative deficit reduction plan.

Sequestration is happening, he said,“because of a choice Republicans in Congress have made. They’ve allowed these cuts to happen because they refuse to budge on closing a single, wasteful loophole to help reduce the deficit. As recently as yesterday, they decided to protect special-interest tax breaks for the well-off and well connected — and they think that that’s apparently more important than protecting the military and middle class families from the pain of these cuts.”

Hannity ‘Just Asks:’ Is Keith Ellison A Black ‘Equivalent’ Of The Ku Klux Klan?

If nothing else, it was telling that Hannity didn't even quote any Jews, much less present any as guests, to call out the actual anti-Semitism that a monster like the one Hannity was depicting would surely exude. In fact, Jewish groups have endorsed Ellison and defended him from anti-Muslim attacks.

Nor was there any reporter digging or having dug into Ellison’s record. Instead, Hannity trotted out two of his trusty African-American black attackers, Deneen Borelli and Michael Meyers. Neither had anything like hard information about Ellison. But they were full of sneers, jeers and unsubstantiated accusations:

Borelli called Ellison a “left-wing radical” and attacking “is what the left does.…They don’t want to hear the other side of the arguments.”

But Hannity wanted to make the attacks explicitly racial. He jumped in:

But this is deep. Because we all agree Farrakhan is a racist and an anti-Semite. Anyone disagree? Now here he’s (Ellison) hanging out also with Khalid Muhammad. Now, not only did he call Jews bloodsuckers of the black nation, he also said,“Kill everything white that’s in sight. Kill the women, kill the children, kill the old people, kill the babies.” He used a slur for gay people.“Kill them all.”

Meyers took the bait. He said the “black nation” has been suffering “wacky” and “unhinged” leadership such as “the likes of Keith Ellison, Louis Farrakhan, Rev. Jeremiah Wright. It goes on and on and on.” Meyers added,“The nation has become racialized and radicalized in terms of the leadership tier.” Meyers went on to say that Ellison came on the show to talk up “the black messiah,” aka President Obama, and wage war on Fox.

But again, Hannity jumped in to make it racial.

This is really serious. Inasmuch as Farrakhan, one of the most divisive figures in our culture, rabid anti-Semite, racist. Khalid Muhammad: kill the women and everything white that’s in sight, kill the women, kill the babies…

He was interrupted by Meyers who exclaimed excitedly,“Don’t forget, don’t forget the Congressional Black Caucus! They entered a sacred covenant with Minister Louis Farrakhan!”

Did he mean the one that was renounced in 1994, 12 years before Ellison arrived in the House of Representatives?

Hannity continued prodding his guests for more racial attacks.

Do we have somebody then in Congress that is the equivalent of on one side, of what the Klan is? Because I view the rabid rantings of Khalid Muhammad as frightening, in terms of racism, anti-Semitism.…Farrakhan’s newspaper once said,‘The God that teaches me… that the white man is the skunk of the planet earth.’

As Meyers went on to attack African Americans for voting for candidates merely because they’re black (and ignoring the fact that Herman Cain is much less popular among African Africans, than, say, Hillary Clinton), Hannity predicted that his guests would be attacked for “for calling out people who are racially bigoted.”

Nah. Meyers and Borelli were just Hannity’s stooges. The master baiter of race in this segment was definitely Sean Hannity.

According to the president,“this meat-cleaver approach...will jeopardize our military readiness and eviscerate job-creating investments in education and energy and medical research.”

He went on to declare criminals would be released and the public would be at their mercy, planes would not take off the ground, children would be starving in the streets, etc., etc., etc.

Now he comes out joking that the sequestration is not an apocalypse and, of course, blaming the republicans for not letting him raise taxes again without offering any spending cuts as was promised.

This president is in denial but egg is all over his face.

This is amazing. And not in a good way:

A range of mainstream American publications printed paid propaganda for the government of Malaysia, much of it focused on the campaign against a pro-democracy figure there.

The payments to conservative American opinion writers — whose work appeared in outlets from the Huffington Post and San Francisco Examiner to the Washington Times to National Review and RedState — emerged in a filing this week to the Department of Justice. The filing under the Foreign Agent Registration Act outlines a campaign spanning May 2008 to April 2011 and led by Joshua Trevino, a conservative pundit, who received $389,724.70 under the contract and paid smaller sums to a series of conservative writers.

The posts were in defense of the Malaysian government and in specific opposition to the pro-democracy opposition. Other "subcontractors" on the deal include Ben Domenech, paid $36,000, and Red State writer Brad Jackson,$24,700. Trevino had previously denied the association, but now says it was "a fairly standard PR operation." If possible, doesn't that make it worse?(Trevino, for his part, was fired from the Guardian last year, allegedly also in association with nondisclosure of links to Malaysian interests.)

What we have here is a situation in which a group of 10 conservative bloggers and writers were writing pro-Malaysian government pieces for multiple years as paid propaganda for those interests (and getting paid quite handsomely for it, no less!). Now we hear that it was a "fairly standard PR operation"? Really? So how many of these are out there, on the conservative side?

The prospect of paid propaganda masquerading as legitimate grassroots enterprise has been a constant concern—at least, on this side of the aisle. On the other side, it's apparently enshrined in the movement apparatus itself.

VIDEO: How The GOP Constantly Pretends Spending Cuts Haven’t Happened

Between the spring 2011 budget fight, the debt ceiling debacle, and the so-called “fiscal cliff,” the United States has cut almost $1.5 trillion in spending over the next decade, plus saving roughly $200 billion more in lower interest payments.

In fact, at the Wall Street Journal breakfast featured in the video, reporter Lori Montgomery brought up all these previous cuts point blank with Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI). Ryan’s rejoinder encapsulated the entire bizarre kabuki dance:“That was last session. We’re going forward now.” Montgomery and the other reporters literally busted out laughing in response.

The Sequester Game of Chicken

Just as in 1995, Republicans believe they hold all the high cards. They are 100 percent certain that Barack Obama will buckle and accede to their demands because voters will blame him, rather than them, for any negative consequences resulting from sequestration. The fact that polls universally show that people primarily blame Republicans in Congress appears not to have penetrated their consciousness.

My guess is that the sequestration will be of short duration. In fact, it will last exactly until March 27. That is the day when the appropriations for fiscal year 2013, which began on October 1 last year, run out. Republicans have persistently refused to do their basic work by funding the federal government because they think, just as they did in 1995, that the threat of a government shutdown will force a Democratic president to bow to their will.

Thus far, there is no evidence that Obama is in a mood to be rolled by Republicans. He does not have to run for re-election and he feels confident that the public will blame Republicans in Congress rather than him when the you-know-what hits the fan. I think he believes the government can weather a brief sequester and that Republicans will, ultimately agree to end it when they are forced to finally pass 2013’s appropriations.

I think this is a reasonable assumption. A new report from the Bipartisan Policy Center notes that past sequesters have never been permitted to run their course. It’s such an incredibly stupid way to cut spending that Congress has always relented.

It’s childish and immature for Republicans to behave as if control of one house of Congress somehow gives them a mandate to impose their will on the entire government. But such is the sad state of the Republican Party today, in which a desire to avenge past slights carries more weight than responsibility does.
