Fair or Foul: Is bill making gun control sponsors felons a joke? Nah. It's GOP reality.

This year, Mr. Leara and 61 of his colleagues sponsored another bill, House Bill 170, which would criminalize the enforcement of any new federal gun restrictions, be they passed by Congress or required under a presidential executive order. This bill would make criminals in Missouri of police officers, sheriffís deputies, FBI agents and other law enforcement officials. The bill is taken seriously enough that it was scheduled for a hearing on Tuesday. Republican lawmakers are not treating it as a joke. To make a political point about how pro-gun and anti-President Barack Obama they are, theyíre willing to sign their names to a bill that would put law enforcement officials in jail for doing their jobs.

Would applying that same logic to lawmakers really be that much of a stretch?

The National Rifle Association should send a letter to every Missouri lawmaker putting them on notice that every vote on House Bill 170 and House Bill 633 will be rated. That means that any vote against them would be a vote against the NRA and thus invite a primary challenge. So even though the bills are stupid and unconstitutional, Republicans would have to vote for them.

House Bill 633 isnít a joke. Itís Ted Nugent being invited to the State of the Union speech. Itís Steven Seagal training armed vigilantes as school guards in Arizona. Itís the new Republican reality.

Troll: One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument running on empty. Trolling refers to any deranged behavior or cut-n-paste, that is meant to intentionally anger or frustrate someone else in order to provoke a response. The only person you are destined to become is the person you decided to be moron, troll.

Carol!

Virgo
You and your love may start the day feeling full of vigor with your life-ruler Mercury in full voice, but as the Moon changes signs to Leo you'll be ready to recharge your spiritual batteries. Everyone needs time alone, so clear your calendar to include plenty of time for you and yourself! Avoid people and places that are disturbing to you while your mind and body are renewed.

Looks like you are already following this direction.

Where Crazy Conservative Memes Are Invented

Liberals talk a lot about Fox News and Rush Limbaugh and other conservative media that are on the mainstream radar. But liberals and mainstream journalists tend to forget that there is a fever swamp of crazed conspiracy theories and shockingly offensive rhetoric that exists in obscure right-wing websites and viral e-mail chains. As David Frum recently noted on his Daily Beast blog, it is impossible to understand the dog whistles you hear on Fox News if you arenít familiar with the viral e-mail smears their audience believes in.

Plenty of good news for WalMart today after the right wing loons have been frothing at the mouth over a couple of anonymous emails.

18% increase in dividends__a 2.6% increase in profits after a somewhat sluggish start due to uncertainty about the payroll tax hike, fuel prices and that credit card bills from Christmas start showing up in February.

How to Be a Right-Wing Troll in Ten Easy Steps

1. Always act superior, even when your opponent clearly outclasses you intellectually (this will happen frequently).

2. Demand that your opponent provide evidence to prove their point, then dismiss the evidence based on its source when they do, no matter how widely-accepted or valid that source happens to be. If you canít do that, lie and deny that you said what you said, or lie and say your opponent misinterpreted your statement and is now off topic. Failing those tactics: Change the subject.

3. Lie about all scientific and historical facts when they canít be ignored; facts often get in the way of right-wing ideology. And donít forget: No lie is too outrageous. Repeat the same lies loudly and often.

4. Project. A lot.

5. Take many, many cheap shots at prominent Democrats and your opponents, then decry the lack of civility in political discourse.

6. Be proud of your hypocrisy; being a hypocrite is essential to being a right-winger ó and a troll. However, donít acknowledge being a hypocrite. Instead, characterize yourself as being ďprincipledĒ and try to rationalize your hypocrisy. Also, try to ignore that pesky cognitive dissonance!

7. Blame Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, and the Democratic Party for everything. EVERYTHING. The Huronian glaciation? Clintonís fault. The Lindbergh kidnapping? Obama. The eventual supernova of Earthís Sun billions of years from now? Nancy Pelosi and Russ Feingold. Nothing, absolutely NOTHING, is the fault of a Republican, even when it is.

8. Continually initiate contact with your opponents and, whenever they respond, falsely accuse them of cyberstalking you.

9. Abandon well-known Republicans (i.e. George W. Bush and Dick Cheney) when they become incredibly unpopular, and claim that they arenít ďrealĒ conservatives while ignoring that theyíre so far-right they make white supremacists look like members of the ACLU.

10. Secretly accept that youíre a minority and let yourself be consumed by your deep and abiding hatred of everyone and everything that doesnít conform to your worldview (currently 99.99% of reality).

Children with a deformity called microtia have an intact inner ear but an external ear that fails to develop fully, causing hearing loss. The prevalence ranges from slightly fewer than one to as many as four babies per 10,000 births, depending on the country.

The artificial ears were made by producing a digital 3D image of a child's intact ear and feeding that into a 3D printer to produce an ear-shaped mold. Then the scientists injected a gel made of living cow ear cells and collagen (a substance used to make gelatin) into the mold, and out popped an ear.

The whole process took less than two days: half a day to design the mold, a day to print it, half an hour to inject the gel, and 15 minutes to allow it to set.

Then the researchers implanted the fabricated ears on the backs of rats, where the ears grew for one to three months. Creepy as it sounds, it isn't the first time scientists have grown ears on rodents, as a model for naturally growing ears.

In medicine, current replacement ears are made from a Styrofoam-like material or by an Eve-like genesis out of a patient's harvested rib. The latter is difficult and painful, and rarely produces an ear that works well or looks natural.
