Barack Obama, our next President

Then, tell us why Obama ordered everyone to sit still while he watched Al Qaeda kill Americans on the live video feed.
Then, tell us why Obama lied for two weeks covering up the Al Qaeda attack on the United States.
Then, tell us where the money will come from to pay for Obama's govenment.
Then, tell us how the f**k someone like Obama can be put on the faculty of the University of Chicago Law School teaching Constitutional Law when he'd never passed the bar or ever even seen the inside of a court room as a lawyer, and if you listen to him and whatch what he does, he has never even read the Constitution in his life.

Called the Close Big Oil Tax Loopholes Act, the bill sought to repeal about $21 billion worth of tax breaks to oil companies over 10 years with the stipulation that all revenues generated would be used to reduce the federal budget deficit or the public debt. The five companies targeted were: Exxon Mobil, Chevron, Shell, ConocoPhillips and BP.

The Senate voted 52-48 in favor of moving the bill forward, meaning it failed to get the 60 votes needed to bring the measure up for debate. Votes largely broke along party lines, with all but two Republicans and three Democrats voting against it.

----------

Now, are you stupid enough to believe they would write a bill to eliminate subsidies that don't exist??

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Apparently!!

BTW, wingnut, I've listed 3 specific subsidies repeatedly.

you're copying Dweeb's ignorance and pretending you don't see things.

Again, SPECIFICALLY;

1./ Foreign tax credit ($15.3 billion)

2./ Credit for production of non-conventional fuels ($14.1 billion)

3./ Oil and Gas exploration and development expensing ($7.1 billion)

Your stupid act is tiresome, but genuine. Your stupidity is legendary, which is why you spend your life on this thread.

Going to electric cars is good for this country. The subsidies will help this product grow its market share & thereby attract more private investment & advancements. Electric car makers are not recording record profits & the industry needs some help to develop faster.
The more we utilize electric cars, the less we depend on foreign oil, the less we need to give a crap about the Middle East, the less money we export every year and the fewer greenhouse gas emissions.
Still unable to identify any subsidy for the oil industry not available to other industries.

Keystone pipeline would reduce reliance on Middle East oil. So would more offshore drilling.

Social Security’s Sham Guarantee
How many times during the recent debate over Social Security reform have you heard someone refer to Social Security’s “guaranteed benefit”? The AARP says “Social Security is the guaranteed part of your retirement plan.” Nancy Pelosi, the Democratic leader in the House, touts the system’s “guaranteed retirement benefit.” The liberal activist group ProtectYourCheck.org , headed by former Clinton chief of staff Harold Ickes, is running ads calling Social Security “a guarantee you earned.”
But Social Security benefits are not guaranteed.
They are not guaranteed legally because workers have no contractual or property rights to any benefits whatsoever. In two landmark cases, Flemming v. Nestor and Helvering v. Davis, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Social Security taxes are not contributions or savings, but simply taxes, and that Social Security benefits are simply a government spending program, no different than, say, farm price supports. Congress and the president may change, reduce, or even eliminate benefits at any time.

Subsidies to renewable energy are generally considered more environmentally beneficial, although the full range of environmental effects should be taken into account.""
"Foreign tax credit" sounds like something available to all industries, as well as individuals on their tax returns.

"Credit for production of non-conventional fuels" sounds like green energy program.

McCain and Graham prepare to quit fighting Hagel and move on to their next hissy fit

The McCain-Graham relationship on this one is, as Politico paints it, its own little Greek tragedy in the making: McCain was reportedly planning to vote for Hagel until Graham prevailed on him to join the filibuster.

By reversing himself, McCain effectively sacrificed his own credibility to buy Graham more time to continue his campaign against Hagel—an issue that plays to Graham’s advantage as he prepares to run for reelection in 2014.
“This is just a bone thrown to Lindsey Graham, who keeps painting himself into corners and then pleading with friends to crawl in there with him in a vain attempt to save a little face,” one Republican insider told POLITICO.

The unprecedented filibuster of Hagel makes an absolute mockery of the watered down filibuster reform the Senate agreed to less than a month ago, an outcome that was entirely predictable. It also demonstrates how much of an opportunity Senate Democrats let slip away. Majority Leader Harry Reid said this filibuster is "tragic."

"It is tragic that they have decided to filibuster this qualified nominee," said Reid. "It is really unfortunate." [...]
"This isn't high school getting ready for a football game, or some play being produced at a high school," said Reid. "In less than two hours, our country will be without a secretary of defense."
That's Reid's first—and biggest—mistake. It's hard to believe that he hasn't realized by now that the governing of the nation absolutely is a game for Republicans. Maybe this episode will be enough to finally convince him otherwise. Just in case, let's make it very clear for him: It's time to revisit real filibuster reform.

Winning a Daytona pole position is the equivalent of winning many of the actual NASCAR races. BTW she will start on the pole next Sunday regardless of her finish in the twins and Gordon will be beside her as #1 and #2 are "earned" during the qualifying session.

The term pole position was coined long before anyone anticipated female jockeys or drivers. Still humorous though.

The new "ghost car" visual feature clearly showed that Danica chose the perfect line besting the few others that had equal cars.

She's a tough little chick__and gracious.
