This is but a ghost of what Detroit used to be. Very depressing series of photos and decline. I have spent a lifetime listening to older people describing to me the horrible shame of what Detroit is today. They had experienced a beautiful childhood inside of a beautiful city....and then got the hell out of there when it began collapsing.

I know and that is what happens when the city is just left with only members of the entitlement society that provides no tax base and a product of the New Left. Just think Southeast Michigan with the help of organized labor in Michigan is where the New Left as we know it today got its start too which this PDF contains real interesting facts too.

(Reuters)- The CEO of a U.S. tire maker has delivered a crushing summary of how some outsiders view France's work ethic in a letter saying he would have to be stupid to take over a factory whose staff only put in three hours work a day.
Titan International's Maurice Taylor, nicknamed "The Grizz" for his negotiating style, told the left-wing French industry minister in a letter published by media on Wednesday that he had no interest in rescuing a plant set for closure.
"The French workforce gets paid high wages but works only three hours. They get one hour for breaks and lunch, talk for three and work for three," Taylor wrote on February 8 in the letter in English to the minister, Arnaud Montebourg.
"I told this to the French union workers to their faces. They told me that's the French way!" Taylor added in the letter, which was posted by business daily Les Echos on its website and which the ministry confirmed was genuine.
"Titan is going to buy a Chinese tire company or an Indian one, pay less than one Euro per hour wage and ship all the tires France needs," he said. "You can keep the so-called workers."
And you-get absolutely not even a THOUGHT of a donation!
Chew on that while you eat your cheeseburger with onions, in peace, sitting down, for as long as you want to.

What the “Friends of Hamas” Episode Means

Jonathan Bernstein sees the “Friends of Hamas” nonsense and how quickly it spread through conservative circles as symptoms of a broader problem with conservative media outlets:

The question is what comes next. Does the reporter get punished for botching a story, or rewarded for generating partisan talking points? Does the publication redouble its efforts to enforce standards, or pride itself on the buzz? Do pundits and politicians learn to be highly skeptical of the news source and, if it doesn’t clean itself up, eventually shun it — or do they continue to cite it as if it’s totally legitimate?

The answers to date suggest that the GOP is perfectly happy to welcome into the tent an organization that is happy to fabricate “news” that supports conservative story lines.

This episode is reminiscent of the near-certainty at many conservative media outlets that Romney was likely to win in the closing weeks of the election last year. Many of the people at these outlets started with the false assumption that Obama should be the underdog because of profound misreading of how the voting public would react to the state of the economy, and they proceeded to discount or explain away all evidence that told them something that contradicted this core wrong assumption. This led them to put their trust in truly outlandish predictions that proved to be wildly wrong. Similarly, conservative media outlets have been endlessly repeating various lies about Hagel (e.g., that he is “anti-Israel” or “hostile” to Israel, that his views are “fringe” and “not mainstream,” etc.) and face little or no resistance from other conservatives (and meanwhile criticism from outside the bubble is simply ignored). That makes many of them willing to believe ever more outrageous and nonsensical stories about Hagel. Hence the ease with which the total fabrication of the “Friends of Hamas” was accepted and repeated as if it were true or even possible.

It’s impossible to understand the speed with which the “Friends of Hamas” fiction spread online without appreciating just how dishonest the underlying movement conservative anti-Hagel argument is. Anyone who knows Hagel’s real record and doesn’t fall for hard-liners’ misrepresentation of it would have recognized this “story” as garbage the moment he heard about it. Even if such a group existed, it’s lunatic to think that Hagel would have been consorting with it. One has to be willing to believe all manner of nonsense and smears before the “Friends of Hamas” lie seems remotely plausible. Unrelenting hostility to evidence will always come back to haunt you sooner or later.

John Galt wrote:
DETROIT (AP)— The fiscal crisis plaguing Detroit is now in the hands of Michigan's governor after a state-appointed review team determined the city was in a financial emergency with "no satisfactory plan" to resolve it.
Republican Gov. Rick Snyder has 30 days to decide if Detroit needs an emergency manager to take charge of its finances and spending, and come up with a new plan to get the city out of its financial mess.
After spending weeks looking at the city's books, the independent review team released a report Tuesday saying Detroit's deficit could have reached $900 million last fiscal year had it not borrowed enormous amounts of money. The city's long-term liabilities, including underfunded pensions, are more than $14 billion.
The report also said the city's bureaucratic structure makes it difficult to solve the financial problems.
Some fiscal experts believe the city's only way out may be municipal bankruptcy, but state Treasurer Andy Dillon said answers could be found if the city and state work together.
"It's our hope at the state level that this is a partnership. It doesn't have to be adversarial," said Dillon, a member of the review team. "A lot of the ingredients for the turnaround of the city are in place. Now we just need to execute. I do believe strongly that Detroit is fixable."
But over the last nine months, that relationship has been strained. Detroit Mayor Dave Bing and the nine-member City Council entered into a consent agreement with Snyder in April that allowed some state oversight and help with Detroit's finances — short of cash infusions — in return for certain fiscal reforms. However, the city often missed deadlines and benchmarks.
The ongoing cash crisis has threatened to leave the city, which has a current budget deficit of $327 million, without money to pay its workers or other bills. Dillon said the city has been running deficits since 2005, and masking over them with long-term borrowing.
"I stand with Detroiters and other stakeholders that the pace of change has been frustratingly slow," said Gary Brown, City Council president pro-tem. "The political will has often not been there to make the necessary and bold fiscal reforms.... Without a doubt we need the support and accountability that a State of Michigan partnership offers. We cannot address our legacy obligations alone."
Under state law, Snyder has 30 days following the review team's finding to decide for himself whether there's a financial emergency. Bing would have 10 days to request a hearing. The first-term governor could then revoke his decision or appoint an emergency manager.
After Brother Coleman ran the city into the ground, they named a building and a street after him. Now that Brother Kwame cleaned out its coffers, they'll probably find some building to name after him, too. Several past City Council Members have gone to prison for malfeasance, one the wife of a black Michigan Senator.

The Detroit Public School Board has repeatedly ran the school system into bankruptcy and, each time, the State had to come in and take over to clean it up after wholesale theft left the classrooms bare. One time, investigators had found warehouses scattered across the city filled with brand new computers, many of which were mysteriously missing. School Board Members had friends and family to take care of, apparently. Those PCs never made it into the schools. Meanwhile, DPS Board members insisted on keeping their Chauffeur-Driven Limousines - even after hours to carry them all around town on shopping sprees and night life excursions.

Each time that the State had to come in and take over the corruption-ridden City, racism charges were mumbled by black "leaders". This same scenario has occurred in Flint and Benton Harbor, too. The Race Card has become dog-eared, folks, and they'll have to ask the Boy Messiah for a new one soon..

Chicago & Detroit rats especially as an example dont but I believe the reason Blacks are different in the south it has to do with how the south was in the 1950's & 60's and why their mindset there is different just like why the Blacks outside of Indiana are leary and know what group had a stronghold on Indiana Republican Politics in the 1920's & 30's which is why they are leary.
