Want to stop the drug problem? Go to the source. Ban the manufacture of oxycontin, who make billions, legally. Stop the importation of heroin and cocaine; it could be done, but it won't because drugs and arms make the world go around. One finances the other, and you, are a dummy.

Extremism in the Defense of Tradition

Auster’s blog, View from the Right, contains more than 20,000 entries and comments. A generation hence, an American studies student looking for a window into radical right-wing disillusion with post-millennial America could do far worse in dissertation topics than exploring the work of this idiosyncratic figure.

Man shot dead in confrontation over loud music
A pre-dawn confrontation over loud music playing from a car led to the fatal shooting of a man in an apartment complex parking lot Thursday.
Two off-duty security guards, one of whom lives at the Whispering Palms apartments at 4530 NW 36th St., confronted a man in his 20s about loud music coming from his car shortly before 3:15 a.m., the Broward Sheriff's Office said.
The men told investigators that the victim reached in the direction of one guard's gun and the second guard, fearing for their safety, shot him, according to Broward Sheriff's spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion.
A woman who said she was the victim's roommate said the shooting was not justified.
"Loud music doesn't give anyone a right to kill someone," said Taby Woodard, 20.

Not so fast; Charlie is right; if the draft is reinstated; there would be no wars.
Nitwits like this fool are deathly afraid of a Draft!!

It was the draft that turned America against the Vietnam War,which the rightwingers are still fighting.

You're right. Iraq could never have lasted more than a year or two if there had been a draft.

Most Americans have no skin in the game, they're kids are safe while the children of the poor and lower middle class become our military due to lack of other options.

In a democracy, a draft is essential to share the pain of war.

Just as the Rmoneys of the world insist the poor pay Federal Taxes, the rest of us would like to see Rmoney's kids drafted and sent to war, just like the kids of the less fortunate.

TSM is a Rmoney stooge. He's been crying since the election!!

3;15 a.m. Yep! If the guy had been raised to respect his neighbors and taught that you don't reach for a gun he might still be alive! But his mom will say 'But he was such a good boy!'.

- Anemic GDP growth
- Sluggish home sales
- Value of American's homes down
Utopia in "old turd's" and president nobama's world.

All is not well in the US. The problem is all you Repubs have some type of memory loss of just how bad it was from 2007/2008. When the US starts losing 750,000 jobs per month again get back with us on how bad things are.

Defending your nation is slavery??

You really that stupid??

Tell that to Israel, where mandatory service has existed from the beginning.

A mercenary Army, which is what we have, is far more a danger to free society than a draft.

A draft is democracy in action, all share the pain, as we proved in WWII. DUH

A lawyer acting for Chubby Checker — the musical legend behind “The Twist”— has announced a lawsuit against tech-giant Hewlett-Packard for using the singer’s name for a penis-measuring app.

In a statement this week, attorney Willie Gary said the suit named HP and its subsidiary Palm, for marketing the software application without permission.

The suit filed a Florida federal court seeks $500 million in damages.

According to Gary, it alleges the app “adversely affects Chubby Checker’s brand and value… and will tarnish his image that he has worked to maintain over the last 50 years.”

“This lawsuit is about preserving the integrity and legacy of a man who has spent years working hard at his musical craft and has earned the position of one of the greatest musical entertainers of all time,” said Gary.

“We cannot sit idly and watch as technology giants or anyone else exploits the name or likeness of an innocent person with the goal of making millions of dollars,” he added.

“The defendants have marketed Chubby Checker’s name on their product to gain a profit and this just isn’t right.”

The “Chubby Checker” app, which appears on websites for Palm devices, claims to allow a person to determine a man’s penis size by using his shoe size.

Checker, 71, is best known for his 1960 hit “The Twist” which spawned a dance craze during the decade that followed.

Yes, war bonds issued to pay for the wars and mandatory draft would curtail our war program. War is fine if they know someone elses son/daughter is going to catch the bullets. Make the rich white kids go, and you'll see and end to it forever.
