In Pennyslvania 2012 elections.

Democratic House candidates received 2.7 million votes vs 2.6 million votes for Republican candidates.

Republicans won 13 districts & the Democrats won 5.

Ummmmm. I wonder, how did that happen?

Two Democrats won by over a 80& % margin, one had over a 50% margin.

Only one Congressional race was won with less than a 10 point margin.

Its called gerrymandering or cheating., Rigging elections.

Something the Republicans know they need to do to win because they have no ideas & have a record of nearly killing this country under Bush.

Here's just one:

""$2.4 Billion: subsidies to the Big Five producers debated and defeated in the Senate in 2011 and 2012

The Repeal Big Oil Tax Subsidies Act, sponsored by Senator Menendez (D-NJ) was debated and defeated by the Senate for two years running, and would have eliminated $2.4 billion in annual tax deductions for the five major oil companies: BP, Exxon, Chevron, Shell and ConocoPhillips.

Although the move would have been an initial step, it’s just the tip of the iceberg. So called “independent” oil companies are hardly small businesses. Major integrated oil companies also include Occidental, Amerada Hess, Marathon, Murphy Oil and dozens of others. Together, these companies produced 53.5 percent of U.S. oil in 2009.""

All fossil fuel subsidies are ONLY available to fossil fuel producers, you moron!!

That's why they're called fossil fuel subsidies!!~

But I agree that all subsidies be eliminated.

As pretty much every Republican in elective office will tell you, President Barack Obama is the most anti-Israel president in American history. Or:

When President Barack Obama visits Israel next month, he'll be awarded the Presidential Medal of Distinction, Israeli President Shimon Peres' office announced Monday.
Obama, the first sitting U.S. president to receive the recognition, will be awarded the medal for making "a unique and significant contribution to strengthening the State of Israel and the security of its citizens," according to a release announcing the news

The vast majority of the black vote is concentrated in Philadelphia. Outside of Philadelphia, Romney carried Pennsylvania by a significant margin.

The legislature would need to perform extreme gerrymandering to spread the excess votes in the 80% Democrat districts over the rest of the state.

So Boehner was lying when he defended oil subsidies????

Congress debated nothing when they debated ending these subsidies?

But hey, just for you right whiners put there:

In ten days, on March 1, the first installment of the automatic across-the-board spending cuts known as the sequester will begin to take effect. The indiscriminate cuts will slam domestic programs and military spending alike, hitting virtually everything the federal government does other than Medicare or Social Security benefits. The best programs and the worst programs will be treated alike and the steep drop in spending will slow down the economy and jobs growth.
So what does Congress do? It takes the week off, naturally. Because even though everybody in Washington, DC says they hate the sequester, nobody actually wants to get rid of it.

Galt routinely chastises the extreme religious elements, whether Christian fundamentalists or members of the Church of Obama.

Democrats should be cautious in equating support for their party with support for the Personality Cult of Obama. For some strange reason, Americans like Obama much better personally than they like his party policies.

To commemorate the holiday properly (besides shopping), I found a few lovely things that have been said about America's "Deciders" through the years in Joseph Cummins' fun book, Anything for a Vote and Rating the Presidents by William Ridings, Jr. and Stuart McIver. Feel the love:

"Jefferson is a mean-spirited, low-lived fellow, the son of a half-breed Indian squaw, sired by a Virginia Mulatto father." (Federalist pamphlet)

Martin Van Buren is laced up in corsets, such as women in town wear, and if possible tighter than the best of them. It would be difficult to say from his personal appearance, whether he was a man or a woman, but for his large red and gray whiskers." (Davy Crockett)

"Miss Nancy" (Andrew Jackson on James Buchanan)

"He is a horrid-looking wretch. Sooty and scoundrelly in aspect, a cross between the nutmeg dealer, the horse-swapper, and the nightman." (The Charleston Mercury on Abraham Lincoln)

"Tweedledum and Tweedledee" (Woodrow Wilson on Teddy Roosevelt and William Howard Taft)

"A fathead with the brains of a guinea pig" (Teddy Roosevelt on William Howard Taft)

"If you vote for Nixon, you might go to hell." (Harry Truman)
