Mornin' Homer.
I'm having a problem, maybe you can help ...
Should I vote for the party that says I have no legal rights and that they can imprison and torture me at will or do I vote for the party that says I have no legal rights and that they can execute me at will? I'm kinda leaning towards death over torture and imprisonment.
Need an answer, 2014's just around the corner.
I would go with death depending on your tolerance for pain as torture can be painful.

United States Department of the Treasury Responsibilities

The basic functions of the Department of the Treasury mainly include:

- Producing all currency, coinage and postage stamps of the U.S.

- Collecting taxes, duties and money paid to and due to the U.S.

- Paying all bills of the U.S.

- Managing the federal finances

- Managing government accounts and the United States public debt

- Supervising national banks and thrift institutions

- Advising on domestic and international financial, monetary, economic, trade and tax policy (fiscal policy being the sum of these, and the ultimate responsibility of Congress)

- Enforcing federal finance and tax laws

- Investigating and prosecuting tax evaders

- Publishing statistical reports

With respect to the estimation of revenues for the executive branch, Treasury serves a purpose parallel to that of the Office of Management and Budget for the estimation of spending for the executive branch, the Joint Committee on Taxation for the estimation of revenues for Congress, and the Congressional Budget Office for the estimation of spending for Congress.

From 1830 until 1901, the responsibility of overseeing weights and measures was carried out by the Office of Standard Weights and Measures, which was part of the U.S. Treasury Department. After 1901, the responsibility was assigned to the agency that subsequently became known as the National Institute of Standards and Technology.

STAMFORD -- A Transportation Security Administration screener at John F. Kennedy International Airport was arraigned at state Superior Court in Stamford Monday for allegedly striking his 75-year-old mother a day after he was charged with harassing and threatening his psychiatrist.
Christopher Wilkie, 43, of 210 Shore Road, Long Beach, N.Y., was charged with third-degree assault on a person over 60, second-degree harassment, second-degree threatening and two counts of breach of peace.
Wilkie was arrested just down the street from his mother's home on MacGregor Drive after a witness saw him assaulting his mother in a car on Saturday at about 2 p.m., his court files show.
He was also arrested Friday after police obtained a warrant for his arrest following a troubling incident in his psychiatrist's Summer Street parking garage.
According to his arrest warrant affidavit, Wilkie was waiting when his psychiatrist pulled into his office at about 6:30 a.m. on Dec. 26. An agitated Wilkie, who had a 7 a.m. appointment with the psychiatrist, nearly pulled him out of his car window by his shirt, saying, "You are out to get me. I will get you and your daughter. In another situation I would have killed you. My people are coming to give you your instructions tomorrow," the warrant states.
Wilkie drove off and his psychiatrist called police to report the incident.
Judge Kenneth Povodator reduced Wilkie's bond to $10,000 on the assault charge and forbid him from going to his mother's house. Bello said Wilkie will go to another psychiatrist for care.
In videos, Wilkie can be seen using shirts to cover three surveillance cameras in the parking garage before the attack, the warrant said. They also show Wilkie taping a note to his psychiatrist's door, saying "I am on to you, you (expletive deleted) punk."
Later that day, Wilkie made seven phone calls to the psychiatrist's office, making harassing and threatening statements to the staff, the warrant said.
The psychiatrist said he has been seeing Wilkie for 10 years without problem. But that morning he appeared to be "whacked out on something," the psychiatrist surmised.
With his mother sitting in court Monday, Wilkie's attorney, Robert Bello, told Judge Kenneth Povodator his client was off his medications.
Bello said he had Wilkie's medications and his mother would be able to help get them to Wilkie if he could be released on bond. Bello said Wilkie had a clean criminal record and was not a flight risk, because he used to live with his mother in Stamford.
Supervisory Assistant State's Attorney Steven Weiss said Wilkie has been a TSA screener for nine years and he was concerned because Wilkie had reportedly been planning on getting a gun.
Wilkie denied the claim before Povodator quieted him.
when there is a headline of a shooting, whose fault will it be--the libs who close institutions where this guy should be? and/or the judge who let him out on $10K bond?
Why are you so stupid Jane? If the man held a job without incident for 9 years and just recently fell apart; then he needs to be back on the medications. Are you proposing locking everyone up who acts weird? Who will make that decision? No one can commit a person to an institution who is an adult.

Bruised from Battling Obama, Eric Cantor Softens His Tone in Domestic Policy Speech
Eric Cantor is acutely aware that the GOP has an image problem.
For the past year-and-a-half, the House majority leader and his colleagues have been manning the barricades of negativity: "No" to Obamacare. "No" to immigration reform. "No" to gun control. "No" to higher taxes on the wealthy. "No" to just about anything the White House wants.
Now Cantor is trying to soften his hard-edged reputation, portraying the Republican Party as caring deeply about education, health care and innovation.
"No" won't win elections.
LOL... image problem?

Race to the Top” is Racist

Hundreds of Black and brown parents, students and activists descended on Washington to protest thousands of school closings under President Obama’s Race to the Top program.“For the first time you have parents uniting, communities uniting, students uniting in challenging these policies and calling them racist,” said journalist Jaisal Noor. The protestors denounced preferential treatment of charter schools, and called for a national moratorium on school closings.

Ras Baraka for Mayor of Newark

“We need to fight for living wage jobs,” said Ras Baraka, a high school principal, son of poet and activist Amiri Baraka, and candidate for mayor of Newark, New Jersey. Current mayor Cory Booker, a darling of the media and corporations, has his sights set on a U.S. Senate seat. Booker “either didn’t care about our problems from the beginning,” said Baraka,“or he faced our problems and realized it was too heavy form him to deal with and carry out his own, personal agenda at the same time.”

To stop the use of the government as a weapon, Americans needs to reduce the government to 1 tenth of what it is now. To stop are enemy’s from using the government to swindle and plunder, we need to remove that power. We need to stop the legislation from being use to legalize plunder. We need to stop law from stealing from Americans that which belongs to them, and, given to those who it does not belong to. This act, if perform by any individual would be a crime. This action perform by the mafia is a crime. We need to abolish these laws and the power to make them without delay.
This organizing of legalized plunder, is powered be the delusion of the day when all class will be enriched, at the expense of freedom and each other. It is the organization of tariffs, protection, perquisites, progressive taxes, free public education, right to wages, right to assistance, right to labor etc. Hence, the infinite multitude of plans for legalized plunder. All these plans, taken as a whole with what they have in common, they are Socializes Communism. The enemy and slave master of all free people.

EEOC Dismisses Black Cases En Masse

A recent report from the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission claims the agency has reduced its backlog of to 70,000 cases. However, Ricardo Jones, the former chief investigator for the New York district of the EEOC, says the agency is doing a worse job than under President George Bush. Any reduction in backlog is due to wrongful dismissal of racial discrimination complaints, said Jones.“The statistics clearly show that.”

The Carving-Up of Africa Has Begun

Dr. Francis Boyle, renowned professor of international law (University of Illinois, Champaign), says the 2011 “Libya attack was designed to allow the U.S. and NATO to project power southward into Africa,” and led directly to western military intervention in Mali.“What we are seeing is a new ‘Berlin Conference’ carve-up of Africa, to loot and plunder its natural resources,” said Boyle, whose new book is titled Destroying Libya and World Order.

Justice Department Leaks Memo “Legalizing” Murdering Americans
And why not? Either there’s a whistleblower in the Department of So-Called Justice about to be charged with espionage, and NBC is about to face the same persecution as WikiLeaks, or this is one of those “good” leaks that the White House wanted made public in an underhanded manner — perhaps as an imagined boost to morality-challenged CIA director nominee John Brennan who faces his Senate Rejection Hearing on Thursday.

The memo, which is thought to be a summary of a longer one, says the United States can murder a U.S. citizen abroad (abroad but somehow “outside the area of active hostilities” even though killing him or her seems rather active and hostile) if three conditions are met:

“1. an informed, high-level official of the U.S. government has determined that the targeted individual poses an imminent threat of violent attack against the United States;”

The memo goes on to base its claims on the supposed powers of the President, not of some random official. Who is such an official? Who decides whether he or she is informed? What if two of them disagree? What if he or she disagrees with the President? or the Congress? or the Supreme Court? or the U.S. public? or the United Nations? or the International Criminal Court? What then? One solution is to redefine the terms so that everyone has to agree.“Imminent” is defined in this memo to mean nothing at all.“The United States” clearly means anywhere U.S. troops may be.

“2. capture is infeasible, and the United States continues to monitor whether capture becomes feasible;”

And if a high-level official claims it’s infeasible, who can challenge that?

“3. the operation would be conducted in a manner consistent with applicable law of war principles.”

When a U.S. drone strike killed Anwar al-Awlaki and Samir Khan, no one had shown either of them to meet the above qualifications.

When a U.S. drone strike targeted and killed 16-year-old Abdulrahman al-Awlaki, no one had shown him to meet the above qualifications; I don’t think anyone has made such a claim to this day. And what about his cousin who died for the crime of being with him at the wrong time?

The sociopaths who wrote this memo have “legalized” the drone-killing of Americans with the exception of all the Americans known thus far to have been murdered by our government with the use of drones.

Your concept of everyone in America should have a PhD would rule out America ever having a middle class. And it is the middle class that made America. Reagan started the process of ending it.
If you want to get that kind of money, become a CEO. Or, you can use the traditional American economic system and start your own company.
Even if you don't have the gumption to start your own company, and you don't have the talent required to become a CEO, and you didn't take advantage of the education opportunites available to every goddam person in the entire country, you still can earn a very nice middle-class living that includes a house, a pickup truck for you, a car for your wife, new clothes for your kids, a four-wheeler, a bass boat, a set of golf clubs, vacations to Yellowstone, Bar-B-Q Super Bowl party for your friends, and some money left over for food and beer.
All you have to do to get this is just GET A F**K*NG JOB, show up for work every day... on time, do what you're paid to do, and be a student of your profession.
If you can't find a job, there are 30 million illegal aliens doing the work Obama is paying his base to not do. Take one of those jobs.
Here's the deal....

Work or starve.
There's no more money to pay for that government gravy train you've been riding for 50+ years.
