Democrats might be happy that Sarah Palin will no longer be paid $1 million a year by Fox News, but based on what happened when Glenn Beck left the conservative network, Bill Maher isn't thrilled to see her go.
After Beck left Fox, he took his "patented brand of apocalyptic race baiting" to the Internet and started charging his audience around $10 a month. Then, in 2012, he made $80 million.
If Palin takes a cue from Beck or Rush Limbaugh, she too could make a lot more money off her fans than she did at Fox. But Maher feels that's exactly what makes these pundits "con men":
"They don't care about winning elections; they care about separating rubes from their money. They discovered that there's a fortune to be made by keeping a small portion of America under the illusion that they are always under attack, from Mexicans or ACORN or Planned Parenthood or gays or takers, global warming hoaxers; it doesn't matter. They don't want a majority; they want a mailing list, a list of the kind of gullible 'Honey Boo Boos' out there who think there's a 'War on Christmas' and the Socialist policies of our Kenyan President are so disastrous that the end of the world is coming."

What a buncha idiots! One thing to suffer advertisers and watch the show for virtually nothing but to shell out cash for that crap? I used to feel kinda sorry for them but they deserve whatever they get.

What do you think is the "one way out"?
Unfortunately there is some truth in what you say, because the Republicans are too easily manipulated by the media.

Libertarian Party might be better if they favored spending cuts instead of massive tax increases to balance the budget. Alas, their chief spokesperson says that is not the case, that spending cannot be cut.

Nobraina officially joins the Vince Foster conspiracy crowd.

That's what Obama Derangement Syndrome will do to a nitwit!!

He doesn't even know that John Hinkley was a CIA assasination attempt on Reagan, but makes shit up about Vince Foster!!

They grow 'em twisted in Centralia, PA!!

You're an idiot!!

The advocates are there to protect the patient from the Doctors!!

Many doctors will perform any procedure just for the money.

Advocates are necessary to prevent medical facilities (not just Drs) from taking advantage of patients who may not see things clearly, from illness, dementia, fear.

Y'know, folks like you.

Don't see any new US coal plant construction proceeding (in this article) except for one IGCC plant, a completely different animal.

Our failure to resume construction of new nuclear power plants is a national disgrace, but completely understandable given the current Administration.

By the end of this term, the working class will have realized they've been duped, if they haven't already. By then, a third party will seem the only way out. I think something like the "Second Amendment Party" might turn some heads.
Single-issue parties have never succeeded on any level. I can tell you that the 2012 Libertarian Party Presidential candidate did twice as well as the 2008 candidate but still came in with under 1% of the popular vote. This in light of both parties rushing into TARP (and giving birth to the teabaggers) in '08 and the fact that in '12 the biggest contrast between the two major candidates was that one of them had darker skin than the other. I personally agree that a multi-party system is the only way out but the two major parties have a lock on the system. Both the Tea Party and OWS were had the potential to breathe life into one of the alternate parties but instead were co-opted by the two major parties.

The one-sided liberally biased news outlets not only avoids having any opposing point of view but what they say about the opposition in their abscence would make your blood curdle.
How would you know? Your TV only gets one channel.

Did you watch MTP this morning Carol? One Democrat/liberal (Robert Gibbs) vs. three Republicans/conservatives (Ralph Reed, Ana Navaro, and David Brooks).

Reporting actual Republiclown positions on issues is manipulating them??

That's why you lose!! You're too stupid to realize the America you want no longer exists!!

The current America is tired of Republiclown lies, hatred, demonizing various groups from women to blacks to hispanics to gays to you name it.

Your brand of hatred for your fellow citizens is a good thing --- for Democrats.

It proves you're too stupid to evolve to anything other than the hate filled racist POS you've been all your miserable life!!

And that is a good thing for progressives!!

Keep handing elections to us with your hatred!!

I'm lovin' it!!

These were models. Not someone purposefully putting out wrong numbers.
The very name of the organization quoted, "Union of Concerned Scientists", indicates a bias.

Questionable investment, unless they think European football will take hold in the US.

The NFL should face up to the fact that their game is inherently dangerous, obtain waivers from players, involuntarily retire players with concussion symptoms, and establish funding to address later-life medical problems.

Either that or play flag football, with an audience the size of MSNBC.

You mean this two sentence comment on the Republican's reaction:

"Republicans have since pounced on Rice’s comments, saying that she had misled the public. Their outrage sparked calls for an investigation into whether politics played a role."
