Worst States For Pregnant Rape Victims (INFOGRAPHIC)
If a woman who conceives through rape does go on to have the child, she can open herself up to being victimized by her rapist again and again. In 31 states, paternal rapists are allowed to sue for custody and visitation rights like any other father, as a Chicago woman who was served with custody papers from her rapist brought to the public's attention last summer after former Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) made his "legitimate rape" comments.
But of the 19 states that have laws addressing the custody of rape-conceived children, 13 require proof of conviction in order to waive the rapist's parental rights. Two more states have provisions on the issue that only apply if the victim is a minor or, in one of those cases, a stepchild or adopted child of the rapist. Another three states don't have laws that deal with custody of a rapist's child specifically, but do restrict the parental rights of a father or mother who sexually abused the other parent.

When and if credit cards start charging any fee, let alone 4%, it's easy enough to go back to cash.
If I fill up my gas tank, buy groceries, etc. with a debit card, the risk is essentially zero. Over the internet you may have a point. However, do as you wish, I shall do as I wish. Carrying a lot of cash isn't wise or practical, IMO, and in my business I spend a lot of money. I can go thru $500 in a couple of days sometimes.

When half of the country is on welfare - you better think twice about the reality of an orchestrated crisis.
How long can working Americans support the other half?
"Half of the country is on welfare"???

Wow, that's some claim. Let's check it out:

Total housing and food assistance in 2012 was $173 billion or 5.3% of budget outlays or 1% of GDP so yes, pretty close to "half the country".

Now, it's Republican Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer's turn to fight off attacks against Obamacare.

Brewer, who became a conservative darling for her hardline immigration stance, is now a taking potshots from her erstwhile allies on the right wing over her decision to expand Arizona's Medicaid program under President Barack Obama's health care law.

Roosevelt was the only President to be elected 4 times.

Prior to him, there was no law restricting how many times a President can run for office.

Only one was elected more than twice in American History.

Only one had the full faith of the American People to take them through the Great Depression, and WWII.

The facts speak for themselves, just as your ignorance speaks for itself.

JFK, good President, but he didn't even serve 3 years??

Most polls rate FDR in the top tier.

This aggregate poll shows Lincoln to be #1, FDR #2 or #3.

Don't see JFK on any lists.

Yes, I am sure you can find those people who are dissatisfied with anything. I had a compatriot American friend who lived there too who was always squawking, but, then again, she's a Republican. Goes with the territory.
In the beginning, the Canadians fought against universal single payer healthcare, saying the same stupid idiotic things that rightwingers here say, that it's communism, socialism, controlling etc. however, if the Canadian government attempted to take it away now, there'd be a revolution.
If Canadians wish to purchase private insurance, they can; and if they prefer to come to the States for surgeries, they are free to do so. There is a whole world of international medical travel that those who can afford to pursue, can do so.
Your argument holds no water.

Debit cards are for the ignorant and those who can't control their use of Credit Cards.

Mostly fairly poor people use Debit Cards. The same ones who pay for their groceries with checks.

Debit cards are a bad deal. Gas pumps warn you that they may put a $100 or more hold on your account until the bill clears.

Credit cards are far safer, far more protection.

But for folks like you, who think $500 is big money, they likely protect you from getting into credit card debt as you've obviously done in the past.

----------

""You are protected if your debit card is used by a thief. However, you have to act fast. Compared to credit cards, stolen debit cards carry a lot of risk. This page covers the basics of stolen debit cards and your liability.

Stolen debit cards are just one risk of using debit cards. For more information on how debit cards and credit cards work, see our page on Debit vs Credit card use.

With credit cards, youíre limited to $50 of liability for fraudulent use. Whatís more, the thief spent the bankís money Ė he didnít empty your checking account and cause you to bounce important checks (or rack up fees for overdraft protection).

With a stolen debit card (or a stolen debit card number and PIN), you are protected as follows (source: Federal Reserve and Federal Trade Commission):

Your loss is limited to $50 if you notify the financial institution within two business days after learning of loss or theft of your card or code.
But you could lose as much as $500 if you do not tell the card issuer within two business days after learning of loss or theft.

If you do not report an unauthorized transfer that appears on your statement within 60 days after the statement is mailed to you, you risk unlimited loss on transfers made after the 60-day period. That means you could lose all the money in your account plus your maximum overdraft line of credit, if any.

Given the added risk of loss, plus the headaches of risking direct access to your checking account, I donít think itís worth it to use a debit card on a day to day basis. Nevertheless, there may be times when it makes sense Ė if you canít qualify for a credit card or if you want to help a youngster develop good habits."
