I'd be one of them.
In a private account, most Obama voters would withdraw the money to buy lottery tickets, or worse.

If you dont want work and save too bad its only the individual's fault not societie's fault for lack of ambition and the only ones that want to keep throwing peoples tax dollars at the disfunctional welfare system like it is, is the members of US society that want to be provided for and taken care of besides want to depend on the Federal Government instead of depending on themselves which is the way it was prior to FDR and his New Deal.

get the book called "the The Forgotten Man" by Amity Shlaes FDR knew that Social Security would be paying out more than what revenue was coming in plus remember by law Social Security was never to exceed 1% on the Employer and 1% on the Employee and to mantain the Ponzi scheme the FICA tax had to be raised time & time to maintain the Ponzi Scheme.

it is that way now the US dont have a workforce paying the FICA Taxes like they did 50 years ago and the only thing that Congress can do is increase the FICA tax on what employers and employee are left which I cant blame any employer looking to offshore to getaway for paying for the Entitlement Society that has gotten out of control.

The alternative is reducing the benefits and/or increasing the retirement age.

SS is a tax, no more, no less.

Is There a Right to Social Security?
By Michael D. Tanner

You worked hard your whole life and paid thousands of dollars in Social Security taxes. Now it’s time to retire. You’re legally entitled to Social Security benefits, right? Wrong. There is no legal right to Social Security, and that is one of the considerations that may decide the coming debate over Social Security reform.
Many people believe that Social Security is an “earned right.” That is, they think that because they have paid Social Security taxes, they are entitled to receive Social Security benefits. The government encourages that belief by referring to Social Security taxes as “contributions,” as in the Federal Insurance Contribution Act. However, in the 1960 case of Fleming v. Nestor, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that workers have no legally binding contractual rights to their Social Security benefits, and that those benefits can be cut or even eliminated at any time.
http://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/i...
Property Rights: The Hidden Issue of Social Security Reform
One of the most enduring myths of Social Security is that a worker has a legal right to his Social Security benefits. Many workers assume that, if they pay Social Security taxes into the system, they have some sort of legal guarantee to the system’s benefits. The truth is exactly the opposite. It has long been law that there is no legal right to Social Security. In two important cases, Helvering v. Davis and Flemming v. Nestor, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that Social Security taxes are simply taxes and convey no property or contractual rights to Social Security benefits.
As a result, a worker’s retirement security is entirely dependent on the political decisions of the president and Congress. Benefits may be reduced or even eliminated at any time. Given the program’s looming financial crisis, benefit cutbacks are increasingly likely. Therefore, the entirely political nature of Social Security places workers’ retirement security at considerable risk. Indeed, Congress has already arbitrarily reduced Social Security benefits of some groups of workers. Moreover, because Social Security benefits are not a worker’s property, they are not inheritable.
In contrast, a privatized Social Security system, based on individual accounts, would provide workers with the benefits and the safeguards of true ownership.

exactly and we all know what they have been doing which is giving out more than what people paid in and want to raise the Retirement age which personally I have problems with and its not the Federal Governments place to tell people when they can retire and why I have issues with Social Security and why it should be privatized. But I understand why the Republicans wanted to privatize Social Security too because as where social security stands now it belongs to the Federal Governments to spend anyway way they want and we have no property right to it but the problem Bruce Bartlett told why Bush gave up on privatization for people who are currently working right now is because the Federal Government needs every dime it can get its hands on for Social Security to pay for people currently on the entitlement system and the main reason why Social Security privatization died but I think with the econmical problems we got now the Federal Government is going to reduce benefits dramatically but when I dont know because we are heading down the same path as Greece.

Please dear lord give us the strength for the next four years. Don't takith from the hard working Americans and hand out to the poor who don't want to work for a good living.

Don't take the guns away from those who can protect their family from the criminals.

Seek help for the mentally insane and help schools to find those who is in most need of the help.

Thank you dear lord, amen.
