50 years ago? Hartford, Connecticut? Let's see, that puts it about 1960's, right? Oh, but I think you're very wrong, Hartford Connecticut was a terrible mess in the 1960's. Where are you getting your information? I used to carry a small axe under my jacket back then and pulled it out several times to end potential arguments. The only good thing about the place back then was that no one had enough money to afford a gun. Oh well, cheers all. If you see or hear from our carol please tell her we're all missing her terribly. I worked there until 1971 or so... just after that civic center collapsed. Oh I guess it could've been worse alright but things can always get worse you know.

I beg your pardon? My "mommy" as you put it has been quite dead for 16 years, not that it's any of your business and neither do I have any sort of "basement." Houses here are built on concrete slabs, thank you. Rude little bugger aren't you?

Facebook tests $100 charge to message Zuckerberg
Facebook

NBC News / file

Would you pay $100 to message Mark Zuckerberg? Facebook says it's testing some "extreme price points" to let users pay to have their messages seen by people who are not their friends.

Mashable reported early Friday that some users trying to message Zuckerberg are offered the option to pay $100 to ensure that their missive reaches the Facebook CEO's inbox.

Hm..advertising must be down too.

We have no idea how much trouble we're in for now. I worry the Obamanator will not only start a civil war by trying to take our guns he will bankrupt the soul of the nation, morally and fiscally and by the time he's through America may no longer exist in it's current form.

YOU KNOW, CAROL, TYPICALLY WHEN A WOMAN TELLS ME, "I GIVE UP, YOU WIN, I LOSE," I TAKE HER BACK TO MY ROOM AND HAVE MY WAY WITH HER WHILE SHE LAYS THERE, LIMP, ALL FOUR LEGS IN THE AIR AND AN EXPRESSION THAT CONCEALS THE FACT THAT THIS IS THE BEST SEX SHE'S EVER HAD IN HER LIFE. NOW I'M WILLING TO CUT YOU A LITTLE SLACK BUT IF YOU CONTINUE TO ABUSE MY HOSPITALITY I SHALL BE FORCED TO BREAK OUT THE LEATHER QUIRT AGAIN...

CT is an expensive state to live in....they didn't hand out fwee anything back in the day...such pwograms were just about unheard of in the working class sectors.
KY, not so much.
CT lost a tax paying native one, KY gained a GIFTED one.
There now.....that's MUCH closer to the TRUTH lol.

Ok. I think I've got it now.
Money is taken from Social Security and put into the general fund, then Social Security is paid back from the general fund.
I think you should begin with something a lot simpler, like where money comes from. How money is manipulated in government obviously confuses you. So, let's begin with a very simple question:
Where will the money come from to pay for Obama's government?
To answer this question, you actually have to identify a source of money.
If you can't answer this simple question, any other discussion about government expenditures will be beyond your ability to understand.
Ah like how yew stay right on topic DB...none of that easily sidetracked or digressing with you!!

In what country?

Pictures: 1978 Hartford Civic Center Roof Collapse
On January 18, 1978, the Civic Center roof collapsed six hours after the University of Connecticut defeated the University of Massachusetts, 56-49. It collapsed into the arena below with a prolonged rumble at 4:19 a.m. The roof collapse was attributed to the weight of accumulated snow and ice from a 10-day storm. Miraculously, no one was hurt because the center was in the midst of an unusual three-day run of basketball games; no crews were inside making the changeover from basketball to hockey.``I'll just be thanking the Lord that no one died,'' said former Hartford Deputy Mayor Nicholas R. Carbone, the political leader most closely identified with the Civic Center. "That day when I got to the site and I saw it, I just thanked the Lord that it didn't happen five hours earlier.'' Just 12 hours after the collapse, working off a sketch on an envelope, City Manager James B. Daken announced the coliseum would be rebuilt "bigger and better."

The Obama administration is considering funding many more police officers in public schools to secure campuses, a leading Democratic senator said, part of a broad gun violence agenda that is likely to include a ban on high-capacity ammunition clips and universal background checks.
The school safety initiative, one of several under consideration, would make federal dollars available to schools that want to hire police officers and install surveillance equipment, although it is not nearly as far-ranging as the National Rifle Association’s proposal for armed guards in every U.S. school.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/white-...
but you wait and see....it will be all or nothing with you nutjobs.
but that's not the way it works. and people who want that have no room to talk about tyranny.
Defending US Constitutional Rights is an honorable "all or nothing" deed - something not understood by Progressive Baboons like you.....or clearly understood and feared by Socialist Swine like you.

Joe Baby's "recommendations" are simply window dressing and his "submitting" them to the Jerk-In-Chief is routine political play-acting by democrats. Joe and Diane publicly recite their lines and scripts while the Boy Messiah sits cross-legged on the Mountaintop of Wisdom awaiting word from his underlings. The Jerk-In-Chief will then utter his momentous decision on Tuesday to ABC News' Chief Propagandists Diane Sawyer and Bahba Walters and to Oprah - the voice of black ignorant racism - to disseminate to the stupid unwashed masses.

Recall that other committee set up by the Boy Messiah for debt-reduction suggestions - the one whose suggestions he dissed and ignored afterwards and to this day.

Hiring local cops to guard schools helps to keep the Boy Messiah's Union friends and Dunkin' Donuts happy but does little to address the problem. The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun. Cops have a very checkered past for talent, reliability and trustworthiness. Read the newspapers, Doody.

You a big pharma lobbyist?
How would you know who needs them and who doesn't?
And how did the generations BEFORE, ever survive, with OUT so many damned medications daily?
And how did people ever manage to quench their thirst w/out Super sizing everything?
How did the US ever survive on HALF the BUDGETS of what budgets are now (when there are ones anyway)
They did, and people were probably actually a bit healthier, healthcare programs weren't BUST from abuses of....and people(and the government) still knew HOW to and did, live within their means.
WAYYYYYYYYYYY too much junk and spend being pushed on the markets now a days. Big differences between needs and wants, plain and simple.

Is she buried in the slab? And was she already dead when you put her in the concrete? Or did you keep her around awhile for extra attention?

And I'm not being rude. I'm just going along with your favorite form of entertainment. After all, your post means it is all of our business. As in, let he who commits no sin, throw the first stone.

I remember that! I'd only been well working for six years or so and we all wondered why it would fall down so easily. What a small world God's creation is. I hope it survives Obama and his all white cabinet.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Aries

You're idealistic and impressionable today, and want to see the best in everyone. Look straight past their faults, pretending they aren't there; concentrate on their good points instead. If a new relationship gets off the ground now it will always be characterized by an aura of romance and fantasy, and a slightly otherworldly quality.
