Increasing the minimum wage sufficiently to support a family will result in significant inflation.
Let's say the minimum wage is increased from $7.25 to $15.
If you are already making $10 or $12 or $15 per hour, how much should you then be paid?
(and then the rest could just be adjusted accordingly)
