Barack Obama, our next President

Full story: Hampton Roads Daily Press

"The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep," Obama cautioned. Young and charismatic but with little experience on the national level, Obama smashed through racial barriers and easily defeated ...

The sad truth is we will never know if Republicans could have turned this thing around.

Those who wanted an entitlement president got what they wanted. But at what price?

At this point, Boehner and the GOP MUST - absolutely MUST - let Obama own this cliff - lock, stock and barrel.

They are making Obama look like the hero in this bizarre melodrama we're watching unfold in total disbelief. He is now cutting his vacation short to come back and save the day.

Give the darn cliff to him. He's wants it but wants to blame them. Why don't they just give it to him? Let him own it and wear it like a tattoo on his forehead.

Give Obama the tax hikes, the recession, the exploding deficit - all of it - for friggin' cryin' out loud!

its no different than the Democrats on how they were split with the healthcare bill and the one part of the democrats became known as the Blue Dog Democrats.

What the frick does it matter if they come to an agreement or not or even if they come up with the best frikkin' plan and agreement known to man?

The Democrat Senate won't take it up for a vote. Even if they did, it wouldn't pass. Even if it did, Obama wouldn't sign it.

The Republicans are being played like a fiddle and are willingly becoming the scapegoats for the real culprits of this mess.

They need to get out of the way once and for all. It doesn't matter what they do - or do not do - at this point. They are only playing into a scheme designed by the democrats.

By 2014, we're going to be in such deep doo-doo, Superman couldn't even save the day.

I want to let the Democrats have this. All of it.

Republicans MUST wash their hands of this whole thing, kick the dust off their feet and walk away and wait for the crap to hit the fan. If we're going down, the blame needs to go where it squarely belongs.

Two republicans overstating their beliefs in the sanctity of life was unfortunate in the way they expressed it.
No. Akins and Mourdock made absurd statements lacking any factual basis because they were looking for excuses to justify opposing abortion under any circumstances, including rape.

They were factually incorrect, believing BS they heard in their holy roller churches, not just victims of poor expression.

Republicans like to play follow the Leader(Democrats) and Bush proved that too with the continuation of Clinton's housing initiative and Bush signing into law Medicare Part D that the Republicans just added the cost to the Federal Deficit of the Entitlement Society.

It's unimaginable that Americans let this happen. Voting for this president not once - but twice.
These are people who have exhausted their state unemployment benefits and have moved on to emergency federal unemployment benefits, which also eventually expire. Most whose benefits expire then file for disability benefits. So don't lose any sleep.

Very few people of the type that you describe would jeopardize their lives and careers by engaging in any illegal activity, most specifically selling drugs. It's just not worth the risk.
If drugs are legalized, they will be licensed and regulated and heavily taxed and Walmart or CVS will become the primary outlet. Personal sales will still be illegal, enforced more than ever, because the government will want the revenue. Just like moonshining is still illegal.

The House has already agreed on and passed both tax and spending bills.

The Democrat Senate can debate these bills or not, as they choose.

Not likely, but if so his successor will be more conservative and less likely to make a deal with Obama.

Since when do you give a rats ass about unemployment benefits? I thought they were all lazy bums who not want to work? Let the charities and churches help them, or they can get a job, the government is not their nanny.

If you think illicit drug trade is nothing but the few street level dealers; then you are clueless. Remember Wells Fargo? Laundering billions in drug money? What happened? A slap on the wrist and a fine. You can probably not even fathom how huge this really is, globally.
I say, tax them. Same with the money laundering churches ; like the Calvary Chapel., a front for organized crime and drug money.
You think the only people who take drugs are those junkies on the street? HA! Wake up. This can only go on with cooperation from everyone. The small guys go to jail, the big guys are sailing the world in custom built yachts and flying their own jets, with enough cash to pay everyone off.
