In what way do you believe our Government is engaging Law Enforcement in a phony war?

Border Patrol is certainly a "phony war".

But which were you refering to?

Perhaps you're old enough to recall when the Airline Pilots Assn was "pleading" for guns in the cockpit and were told by congress that they weren't trustworthy enough.

The Westboro Baptist Church, the controversial group known for protesting outside funerals of slain U.S. service members, announced that it will picket a vigil for the victims of Friday's Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, the second largest mass killing in American history.

Shirley Phelps-Roper, a spokesperson for the group and, like most members of the organization, a relative of the group's founder, Fred Phelps, announced on Twitter on Saturday the group's plan "to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment."

You've got that argument down pat. If someone had shot and killed that idiot, you'd be bitching right now that 'the kids were put in serious danger by a teacher bringing firearms to school'. Don't tell me you wouldn't.

After Sandy, Global Warming Should Be the Top Priority in Obama’s Second Term

Americans went into the voting booth yesterday with horrific images of the fallout from Superstorm Sandy fresh in their minds. Pictures of homes ripped from their moorings, stories of children whisked away by rushing waters, reports of elderly people trapped on top floors of buildings — the true cost of ignoring science’s warnings about global warming are now all too vivid.

Here is evidence liberals are hypocrite mental disorder cases void of reality and common sense:

When Bush did not signed the Kyoto protocol Bush was accused of causing Katrina,

When Obama did not sign the Kyoto protocol he was not accused of causing Sandy.

Therefore, under logical rational reasoning conclusion:

Liberals must be defeated to save the world!!!

78% of Americans oppose spending cuts to Medicare and 69% of Americans oppose spending cuts to Medicaid.

Most Americans will get very angry if you start coming after their government checks.

Today there are more than 44 million Americans on food stamps. Many that go on food stamps stay on them forever. In fact, the truth is that most Americans will stay on social welfare programs as long as they can.

Not that many of these programs arent necessary. We have an economy that does not produce enough jobs for everyone and that is pushing more American families below the poverty line every single day. The average American family is being absolutely shredded by this economy.

But when you organize a society in such a way that a majority can vote for the wealth of the minority to be transferred into their pockets you are asking for trouble.

If you raise taxes on the rich and give more handouts to the poor is that going to provide them with jobs? No.

If you raise taxes on the rich and give more handouts to the poor is that going to give them dignity? No.

If you raise taxes on the rich and give more handouts to the poor is that going to create more businesses and spur more economic activity? No.

Yes, we always need to help the poor and those that cannot help themselves. However, what we have created is an entitlement society where the majority of Americans now receive direct payments of money from the government.

As millions more Americans climb aboard the safety net each year, it is eventually going to get to the point where all of this government welfare is going to destroy this nation financially.

But our politicians love the current tax system. Why?

It gives them the ability to exert tremendous social control over the rest of us.

Conservative Confusion

Only a major intellectual or moral flaw in American conservatism could have made so many susceptible to the neo-Jacobin bug. Many who caught it were myopically preoccupied with practical politics and Republican partisanship. They lacked historical perspective and philosophical discernment. Others dimly recognized what was happening but went along to reap financial rewards and advance careers. They concealed almost from themselves that they had become hired guns advocating the positions expected of them. Both groups made alliances that will prove compromising. Historians will wonder how so many could have been so easily swayed and manipulated.

Today the utopianism, recklessness, cynicism and sheer incompetence of the neo-Jacobins are becoming obvious. Many of their fellow-travelers are trying to save what remains of their reputations by jumping ship. Intellectually challenged supernationalists just raise their voices and call critics unpatriotic. As for the neo-Jacobins themselves, they are blameless. It is those who implemented their policies who should be blamed. They didnt do it right.

The neo-Jacobin virus should have been flushed out long ago.

In modern American politics, the term Jacobin is often used to describe extremists of any party who demand ideological purity.

Barack Obama is flying to the Connecticut town devastated by America's second-deadliest school shooting to mourn with relatives of the 20 children and six adults who lost their lives.

The president will attend an interfaith vigil in the evening in Newtown, where he will also visit the families of those who lost children in Friday's massacre, carried out a 20-year-old local man, Adam Lanza. The gunman forced his way into Sandy Hook elementary school on Friday morning and opened fire on children and teachers before killing himself.

1) Liberalism creates a feedback loop. It is usually impossible for a non-liberal to change a liberal's mind about political issues because liberalism works like so: only liberals are credible sources of information. How do you know someone's liberal? He espouses liberal doctrine. So, no matter how plausible what you say may be, it will be ignored if you're not a liberal and if you are a liberal, of course, you probably agree with liberal views.

2) Liberals sources of information are ever present. Conservatives are regularly exposed to the liberal viewpoint whether they want to be or not. That's not necessarily so for liberals. Imagine the average day for liberals. They get up and read their local newspaper. It has a liberal viewpoint. They take their kids to school, where the teachers are liberal. Then they go to work, listen to NPR which has a liberal viewpoint on the way home, and then turn on the nightly news which also skews leftward. From there, they turn on TV and watch shows created by liberals that lean to the left, if they have any political viewpoint at all. Unless liberals actively seek out conservative viewpoints, which is unlikely, the only conservative arguments they're probably going to hear are going to be through the heavily distorted, poorly translated, deeply skeptical lens of other liberals.

But you still haven't explained how taking them away from law-abiding citizens will keep them out of the hands of criminals.

I don't like guns either. But I also don't want them in the wrongs hands and innocent people at their mercy.

Maybe we should address that problem.
