We’ve endured too many of these tragedies in the past few years. And each time I learn the news I react not as a President, but as anybody else would -- as a parent. And that was especially true today. I know there’s not a parent in America who doesn’t feel the same overwhelming grief that I do.

The majority of those who died today were children -- beautiful little kids between the ages of 5 and 10 years old. They had their entire lives ahead of them -- birthdays, graduations, weddings, kids of their own. Among the fallen were also teachers -- men and women who devoted their lives to helping our children fulfill their dreams.

So our hearts are broken today -- for the parents and grandparents, sisters and brothers of these little children, and for the families of the adults who were lost. Our hearts are broken for the parents of the survivors as well, for as blessed as they are to have their children home tonight, they know that their children’s innocence has been torn away from them too early, and there are no words that will ease their pain.

As a country, we have been through this too many times. Whether it’s an elementary school in Newtown, or a shopping mall in Oregon, or a temple in Wisconsin, or a movie theater in Aurora, or a street corner in Chicago -- these neighborhoods are our neighborhoods, and these children are our children. And we’re going to have to come together and take meaningful action to prevent more tragedies like this, regardless of the politics.

This evening, Michelle and I will do what I know every parent in America will do, which is hug our children a little tighter and we’ll tell them that we love them, and we’ll remind each other how deeply we love one another. But there are families in Connecticut who cannot do that tonight. And they need all of us right now. In the hard days to come, that community needs us to be at our best as Americans. And I will do everything in my power as President to help.

Because while nothing can fill the space of a lost child or loved one, all of us can extend a hand to those in need -- to remind them that we are there for them, that we are praying for them, that the love they felt for those they lost endures not just in their memories but also in ours.

May God bless the memory of the victims and, in the words of Scripture, heal the brokenhearted and bind up their wounds.

President Obama

Be a man, admit you want to see the end of the 2nd. amendment. You would love a world where only the criminals had a firearm.
You are the one who is wrong, and stoopid.
I'll let you in on a little secret, as much as you want it the 2nd. amendment will not be abridged.
Sorry.

Just affirms my belief that the weapon of choice has no bearing on WHY this sort of stuff is becoming more prevalent. Is it just that there are more of us, and therefore more evil people to go around? Or is society breeding more than the 'normal' number of them? Or, and this is my fear, has our society made a sort of ghoulish hero out of them?

Someday, and I pray I live long enough to see it, Humans will evolve to be all that we are and was meant to be. Yes, it is a new day in America. Educating the white man has been and continues to be a challenge but we will either educate the vast majority of them or they will perish. Either way, the "spirit" will be what it was designed to be with or without them. Only love can conquer hate, on this most nations of the world will agree. But hate is no easy demon to fight but it can be "checked." There is a time, a season, a place for everything under the sun as our brother Solomon so eloquently wrote in the songs of Solomon many years ago. Once such time has arrived for sure...the fall of the white man in America and thus...the world. Justice will always prevail. That's a fact. White men, it is time for you to go or submit to the truth. That being, recognizing the fact that you are NOT superior to any man. That's why you Lost the last two elections. You legacy of violence, hatred, division, and lies is but a memory now. A reminder of why we must move forward, why President Obama was chosen to lead for 4 more years! Face it! Times have changed and will continue to. Learn the meaning of PEACE and practice it first, among yourselves then spread some of the joy you'll get from it round the world. Stop the hatred...the finger pointing... the lies. Fix what's wrong with YOU which is a tremendous feat in itself before you point out flaws in your brothers. YOU are far from perfect. Amen? Donate some of that ill gotten money to fixing yourselves. Stop occupying foreign lands spreading your wicked ideologies and mass confusion. Spend quality time seeking truth. We the people of the world have grown tired of you and your lack of true knowledge of humanity. Where is your soul?

If anyone objects, please read no further.
God, bless the families of all those children - give them comfort and shelter from this storm and surround them with your supernatural love and the kind of peace that passes all understanding. May they know their precious child is safely in your hands and they will see them again. Help them to find a way to forgive so they can heal and become a blessing to others through your strength and your amazing grace. I pray this nation will seek your face and know that you are God and turn away from all wickedness. In Jesus' name. Amen.
If anyone minds your sincerity and compassion for survivors in Sandy Hook, it's their problem. I'm glad you posted this. Thank-you carol.

Fischer: God Didn't Stop CT School Shooting Because He's a 'Gentleman' Who Doesn't Go Where He Is Not Wanted
Bryan Fischer spent the first hour of his radio program today discussing this morning's truly horrific shooting at an elementary school in Connecticut, which he, of course, blamed on the fact that prayer, the Bible, and the Ten Commandments are not taught in public schools.
Fischer said that God could have protected the victims of this massacre, but didn't because "God is not going to go where he is not wanted" and so if school administrators really want to protect students, they will start every school day with prayer:VIDEO

It's not the weapon of choice that matters. It's the mind-set which allows humans to reverse evolution, and become reptilian predators, with enormous brain capacity, but no will to use it for anything other than building better killing machines. Why are there so many monsters? That's what we need to know - not what their names are, but how they got to be that way.

Probably a combination, plus a society that wants instant gratification and instant solutions to problems. Take a pill for everything that ails you, how many kids were medicated when you went to school?
