Incorrect.
Agency shop and union shop (or closed shop) are two different arrangements.
Furthermore, many construction jobs require union membership before being hired, and the construction unions have closed membership rolls.
Incorrect.

"Under the NLRA, you cannot be required to be a member of a union or pay it any monies as a condition of employment unless the collective bargaining agreement between your employer and your union contains a provision requiring all employees to either join the union or pay union fees.Even if there is such a provision in the agreement, the most that can be required of you is to pay the union fees (generally called an "agency fee.")"

When there is a union election, it is the delegates who attend a national convention most often in entertainment meccas like Las Vegas or Atlantic City. Some of the more honest(or simply naive) Delegates have described to me what goes on at those convention hotels after hours. Naked people chasing paid-for prostitutes through hotel hallways, smoking dope, free meals at five star restaurants, free transportation, etc. They are wined and dined by every camp pulling for their candidate.

I think you can easily understand why individual members are not allowed to vote straight for their candidate.

Unions today are corrupt Socialist political machines. Read history. Learn from it so that you don't repeat it. These types of "organizations" throughout Europe, Russia and China have a bloody history of lying to the ignorant, pliable masses, whipping them up into a killing frenzy, and trashing civilization. What the Labor Unions here have become is NOT what they claim to be - the saviors of the Common Man - but money machines duping the members into supporting and evil agenda.

In a perfect world, unions would protect their workers best interest and keep their activities focused there. But they haven't, they don't and they never will because the temptation of nearly unlimited political power is too tempting. RTW is an effort to bring some sanity back into Labor Relations. You sound like a stay-at-home mom scrubbing hubbie's shoes. Get out much? Bingo?

I once worked in a union shop where the company and the union leaders slept together. Horrible working conditions and low pay.

I left.

Let's put aside the Constitutional Rights issue for a moment and examine a realistic hypothetical. Assume for the moment that unions become so politically strong and so prevalent that, along with the Boy Messiah's rights-trampling, 99% of all businesses become Closed Shop. Most of those union dues are now going to support the Boy Messiah in one way or another.

What does your "choice" now mean? It means nothing. It makes a distinction with no difference. This is "Spitting on the sidewalk is illegal" type of naivete.

But now back to my rights. If I want to work without union political interference, I can't. Being forced to belong to a union as a hiring stipulation, I am also being forced to support a Socialist Political Party. This is unconstitutional. It is against an individual's rights found in the Bill of Rights regarding the rights of association.

I don't want to be a Catholic. I don't want to belong to the Masons. I don't want to be forced by my boss to join Facebook. I don't want to be a Socialist Party member. I don't want to support the Boy Messiah through my forced membership in the NEA.
