Your 'Obama Derangement Disorder'(ODD) is getting worse.
Seek immediate mental health intervention.
[DSM Vol X: Teh Crazy Appendix]

Obama Derangement Syndrome---ODS—is a new category of mental illness recently added to the DSM, The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, the mental health profession's official catalogue. It is a disease afflicting conservative Republicans primarily. The symptoms of ODS are (1) an absolute conviction that anything said by Barack Obama--“there are 24 hours in a day”,“the earth is round”,“water is wet”-- must be opposed and damned as the utterances of ‘the most radical president in American history’,(2) the condemnation of Obama for not buying into demonstrably absurdist ways of dealing with problems, such as—not taxing the rich makes everyone else prosperous, and (3) a strange combination of loss of short term memory---no recall, for example, of spending the country into debt during the Bush years--- along with distorted long-term memory---the claim, for example, that Washington, Jefferson and other slave-holding Founding fathers fought tirelessly to end slavery. There is no known cure for ODS, although one is being worked on. It’s called voting, and it is intended to keep ODS sufferers far away from any political office that might give them the power to shape the country in the image of their fantasies.

If Republicans “Stand and Fight,” They’ll Suffer a Major Defeat
The evidence suggests that most Americans will blame the GOP in the event that there is no deal, and it isn’t a close contest. The Republican Party already has a poor favorability rating, and failing to reach a deal will make that worse. When 19% of Republicans and 52% of independents are going to blame Republicans for the lack of an agreement, there is no way that Republicans in Congress can gain political advantage. At this point, they can either limit the damage to themselves, or they can suffer another major political defeat just weeks after their last one. Republicans are still living with the blame their party received for the country’s economic woes four years ago, and they haven’t yet recovered from that. It is absurdly optimistic to expect that the GOP can recover from both that previous damage and other newly-inflicted wounds. If this were simply a case of suffering a minor setback for the sake of some larger gain later on, it might be worth taking a risk, but that isn’t the case here.
Defending Bush-era tax rates at all costs would be harmful enough to the party’s already battered reputation, but refusing to deal would also mark the party as politically incompetent as well as intransigent. One of the party’s many problems is that it trashed its brand as the party of limited government many years ago. Nothing they do now can destroy an image that was defaced long ago. The more important problems for the party are that it has been branded as too incompetent to govern well and far too oblivious to the views of people outside the party. Failing to reach an agreement would exacerbate both of these problems, and that would be ruinous to the prospects for Republican revival and recovery over the longer term.

except for the last part I agree. The old unleaded gas it took 3/4 of a tank to go from this house to the farm. 372 miles. With this junk they sell now it takes 1 1/4 tanks go gas. That's 14 gallons. This is called the unknown gas tax.

Why do you liberals - and enigmas - insist on believing liars?
Washington Post - "Federal officials tried to wrest authority from Louisiana Gov. Kathleen Babineaux Blanco.
"Shortly before midnight Friday, the Bush administration sent her a proposed legal memorandum asking her to request a federal takeover of the evacuation of New Orleans.... The administration sought unified control over all local police and state National Guard units reporting to the governor. Louisiana officials rejected the request after talks throughout the night concerned that such a move would be comparable to a federal declaration of martial law."
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/...
Who are you going to believe? A liar or the Washington Post?
Well, you're the liar, and we surely don't believe you.

""Shortly before midnight Friday, the Bush administration sent her a proposed legal memorandum asking her to request a federal takeover of the evacuation of New Orleans.... "

Why did Bush try to strongarm a Governor to declare Martial Law?? No Governor would give in to that demand.

Why would the Feds take over evacuation when they had no troops in place to do it with?? Local police and fire should always take the lead in evacuation. After all, who knows the areas better than the local police and fire dept's??

Bush wanted to play dictator, after ignoring Katrina for days and partying on the West Coast.

Despite your ignorant and lame defense of Bush, he failed. As he failed in Iraq, as he failed in Afganistan, as he failed to prevent an economic colapse of epic proportions.

Just to keep it in focus, here's Bush's ratings on his handling of Katrina;

""Botching Katrina. It was a disaster at every level. But in political terms, the government's failure to respond effectively to Hurricane Katrina in the late summer of 2005 was Bush's biggest setback at home.

Bush seemed slow off the mark as millions of people suffered, and he created a lasting image of isolation when the White House released photos of him, a solitary figure in his cushy seat, looking out a window on Marine One at the hurricane devastation far below. He also made a huge mistake when he praised Michael Brown, the director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, with a now infamous attaboy—"Brownie, you're doing a heck of a job"—even though the agency was botching the disaster response, adding to the impression that Bush was out of touch.""

"Bush's Approval Rating Drops To New Low in Wake of Storm"

""The bungled response to the hurricane has helped drag down Bush's job-approval rating, which now stands at 42 percent -- the lowest of his presidency -- in the Post-ABC poll and down three points since the hurricane hit two weeks ago. Fifty-seven percent disapprove of Bush's performance, a double-digit increase since January.

Even some members of Bush's own party appear to have lost faith in their leader: The president's overall approval rating among Republicans has declined from 91 percent in January to 78 percent in the latest poll. ""

We all know his ratings continued to tumble for the rest of his 2nd term.

----------

Continue with your lies, Lorac. The American people formed their opinion in 2005, which is why Bush is laughed at to this day.

"Attaboy Lorac, you're doing a heckuva job!!" LOL

Worst part is, we're now importing ethanol!!

The drought has limited our Corn crop, so now the Feds are importing ethanol because Federal law requires the blending.

I think Carter was President when the Arab Oil Embargo of 1973 happen not Bush which force Congress to respond to petroleum shortage by passing the Energy Tax Act of 1978, which provided an exemption to the 4 cents/gallon federal fuel excise tax on gasoline for fuel blended with at least 10 percent ethanol!!

That's funny, you described yourself perfectly.

Only arrogant twits like you could lose 2 elections in a row yet claim it's the majority that has it wrong!!

That's why you will continue to lose elections. Because your side learns nothing from their losses. they just double down on racism and mysogony and lose again.

In this case, you lost seats in both houses of Congress.

Yet you continue to believe FAUX News, in spite of their being completely wrong about the election.

That makes you the easily led. LOL
