The CEO Bankruptcy Bonus
Firms Sidestep Rule Limiting Rewards for Executives
.....in the past few years, some corporations have found perfectly legal ways to escape federal strictures on bonus pay during bankruptcy cases.
Companies now craft "incentive" plans—rewards that put their compensation programs outside the 2005 law's purview. These plans pay executives if they hit certain performance targets, including exiting bankruptcy protection quickly.
The Justice Department often objects to these plans, as do labor unions angered by the juxtaposition of bonuses for executives with cuts to rank-and-file jobs and benefits.

Try again.
Again these terms are negotiated at the time of hire for CEO's and the like. Want the same perks? Get an education and earn it. Or you can continue to man the fryer at McDonalds. Your choice

Recall the situation in 2003. The Bush administration was already projecting the largest deficit in American history--$475 billion in fiscal year 2004, according to the July 2003 mid-session budget review. But a big election was coming up that Bush and his party were desperately fearful of losing. So they decided to win it by buying the votes of America's seniors by giving them an expensive new program to pay for their prescription drugs.

Would this be like the way that Obama bought the votes of the losers in this country by offering more government handouts?

Should I? Is that "tear" for the ones that we killed or the ones somebody else killed?

Fox Wins Straw-Man Argument Against Taxing Millionaires At 100 Percent

Fox News is distorting President Obama's economic agenda by pushing the straw-man argument that taxing the entirety of millionaires' incomes would fund the government for less than three months. In fact, Obama has proposed no such thing, and this Republican talking point obscures the billions in revenue that would be generated from letting the Bush tax cuts expire for wealthy households.

Just to be clear, the Medicare drug benefit was a pure giveaway with a gross cost greater than either the House or Senate health reform bills how being considered. Together the new bills would cost roughly $900 billion over the next 10 years, while Medicare Part D will cost $1 trillion.
Moreover, there is a critical distinction--the drug benefit had no dedicated financing, no offsets and no revenue-raisers; 100% of the cost simply added to the federal budget deficit, whereas the health reform measures now being debated will be paid for with a combination of spending cuts and tax increases, adding nothing to the deficit over the next 10 years, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Sounds like you’re jealous. Angry because daddy’s janitor job would not pay for your education. So you blame those who you “believe” are better off. You’re just another lost soul, angry at the world because you have realized that you are either too stupid or unmotivated to become a success yourself.

Freeriders? like Big Pharma??

Give anyone something for nothing and they will keep on taking it. That is the result Big Pharma was hoping for when it bribed Republicans and the former President George W. Bush to pass a massive unfunded drug liability for taxpayers. And a new study of the statistics1 proves the point – seniors are more than happy to pop Big Pharma pills ad nauseum, while the rest of America foots the bill.

Fox Undermines Its Own Defense Of The Wealthy

Fox broke from its usual narrative by reporting that over the last 43 years the net worth of the wealthy has "skyrocketed," pointing to this as a rationale for President Obama's call to allow past tax cuts for the wealthy to expire. Previously, Fox has manufactured the notion of a high tax burden on the wealthiest Americans, in order to attack Obama for wanting to let these cuts expire.

During a Fox & Friends Sunday segment co-host Clayton Morris attempted to use a study on household net worth to attack President Obama's plan to end the Bush-era tax cuts on the wealthy. But during the segment, co-host Alisyn Camerota, citing the study, reported that median net worth is the "lowest it has been in decades" but for "the top 1 percent, the net worth has skyrocketed" going up 71 percent during the period analyzed. Camerota noted that the discrepancy in net worth is one reason that Obama has proposed returning the top marginal tax rates for high-income earners to their previous level.

http://mediamatters.org/blog/2012/12/02/fox-u...

Obama will raise taxes on the rich in the interest of fairness.

And he will get what he wants one way or the other.

Over the cliff will work. At this point most of the 'thinking' conservatives agree. What a ride that will be.

Do all you Repubs believe that tax money ONLY goes to welfare programs? We have spent $2 Billion per week in two wars for 10 years. Maybe that needs to be paid for. Strange how your champion among Presidents (Reagan) had a tax rate of 50% on the top and now going back to the 1996 rates is some form of socialism.
