The Department of Defense and the Department of Justice together have more than enough prison space within the United States to safely and securely house the remaining 166 prisoners currently held in Guantanamo Bay, according to a new report by the Government Accountability Office (GAO).
The report (PDF), commissioned by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), details a clear road map to accomplishing President Barack Obama’s longtime goal of shuttering the controversial military facility.
“This report demonstrates that if the political will exists, we could finally close Guantanamo without imperiling our national security,” Feinstein explained in prepared text.“The GAO report makes clear that numerous prisons exist inside the United States—operated by both the Department of Defense and the Department of Justice—capable of holding the 166 detainees who remain at Guantanamo in an environment that meets the security requirements.”

One more time you are correct. More than enough space is available to handle the terrorists incarcerated at Gitmo. You would love it, they would be placed in Federal prisons, and caring judges would find a reason to release many of them. Release them so they can continue their mayhem. After all those terrorists are simple patriots. They hate the The US and American's, the infidels, should be free to collect their due, more attacks on American's. That would be fair, in your mind. president nobama is a caring, loving person, no way would he keep all of the in jail, he would parole them.

White House press secretary Jay Carney responded to Speaker John A. Boehner’s (R-Ohio) demand that any increase in the debt ceiling as part of a ”fiscal cliff” deal be matched by equivalent cuts in spending.
“Asking that a political price be paid in order for Congress to do its job to ensure that the United States of America pays its bills and does not default for the first time in its history is deeply irresponsible,” Carney said in Thursday’s press briefing.
“It was deeply irresponsible in the summer of 2011 and it would be deeply irresponsible to see that approach taken again. The president expects Congress to do its job.”

Translation: Obama and the Democrats want tax increases, but have no intention of reducing spending. In fact, they plan to increase spending by more than any tax increase, further expanding the deficit.

And in your world, the government should restrict American's right to depend on capital gains. It is not the governments money. You keep yourfucking hand out and rely on the government to take care of you. I will continue to rely on my brokers advice.

will this work?

Lawrence Lindsay, Bush's first chief economic adviser, said there was little impetus to raise alarms about the proliferation of easy credit that was helping Bush meet housing goals.

"No one wanted to stop that bubble," Lindsay said. "It would have conflicted with the president's own policies."

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/21/business/wo...

so let's sum it up in my own words....

There is no one person or thing to blame for the housing bust. It was a combination of policies from 2 different administrations. To lay the blame for it upon anything but is just plain ignorance.

happy now?

Poll: More Americans Blame Republicans For Fiscal Cliff Impasse

A new poll from CNN/ORC shows that President Obama remains Teflon despite the fact that he designed the upcoming fiscal cliff to speculation. Even though Obama insisted on massive defense cuts and huge tax increases as the two alternative parts of the fiscal cliff, the American public will apparently blame Republicans if the fiscal cliff isn’t stopped. A full 45% of respondents said they would blame Congressional Republicans – even though the Democrats control the Senate – while just 34% would blame President Obama.

The public, by and large, sees Republicans as obstructionist.

Where the fk did you come up with that equation? 1954 when new homes cost $15,000 and the married white buyers actually went into the savings and loans for interviews?

If Donald Trump had to come up with 20% down__or any developer, nothing would get built or sold.

In 1960, to get a 15k mortgage, it often took more than one financial institution to do it, on TOP of the 20 percent down.

Of course, that's back when people still realized, paying such things as mortgages and bills, came before any and EVERYTHING else, and bankruptsies etc were big black marks on any future credit.

Worked pretty well--then came libuhrulTICS, and NOW look at this nation of unpaid DEBT-DEBT-DEBT.

Shameful.
