For one thing, Jesus was the ultimate liberal. He reached out to the poor and castigated the rich.
I've had my issues with the Catholic bishops on issues like marriage equality and contraception where they were trying to impose their own values on the population as a whole but in this case they're right. Even a non believer should be able to see that further enriching the already wealthy on the backs of the middle class and poor is immoral.
By the way I do attend church services on a regular basis and have never suggesting disbanding religion.
So Dupont, do you think the PA will start trying to climb out of of the dark age barbarics it's cleaved to for the past thirty years, put down it's bombs and rambo artillary, grow the flick up, get some brains somewhere and act like decent human beings rather than rabid animals set on course of annilhalating civilization like the terrorist they've acted like for so long?

will this work?
Lawrence Lindsay, Bush's first chief economic adviser, said there was little impetus to raise alarms about the proliferation of easy credit that was helping Bush meet housing goals.
"No one wanted to stop that bubble," Lindsay said. "It would have conflicted with the president's own policies."

so let's sum it up in my own words....
There is no one person or thing to blame for the housing bust. It was a combination of policies from 2 different administrations. To lay the blame for it upon anything but is just plain ignorance.
happy now?
Bush was a progressive. When are you going to understand that and quit playing the left/right games the progressives have set up for you?

Cliff Diving

Erick Erickson

Only a fool would think that the same Congress that got us in this mess can get us out of this mess.

The fiscal cliff is the byproduct of multiple congressional compromises to kick several different cans down the road. Now they’ve all landed in the same spot. Both sides are trying to kick multiple cans at one time and are kicking each other instead.

What’s really going on in Washington right now is Republicans are in theater trying to look like the reasonable party. They want back in the good graces of the American public and want to at least save some face when polling says they’ll probably get blamed and their position is unpopular.

They might as well give it up. They’re going to get the blame no matter what happens. They are disjointed with bad spokesmen. One is orange and the other ... well ....

They might as well dive.

Allowing a business or person is not welfare. To imply that it is means you think the government owns everything. A very dangerous point of view.

Just think, we had a balanced budged....and then Bush was sworn in.
When will you right whiners ever ever ever ever ever ever admit that it was YOUR party that took us off the path of balanced budgets & onto the path of debt, deficits, unfunded wars, unfunded tax cuts, unfunded spending, unfunded record earmarks, a near financial meltdown, a housing collapse, and the worst recession on 80 years.
The balanced budget had to be shoved down Clinton's throat by the Conservative Congress. BJ Clinton even shut down the gubbermint for weeks, trying to force them to accept liberal-business-as-usual buying votes with Welfare.

Now you Socialist/Democrats want credit for reforming Welfare?

The budget took a dive when liberal Republicans replaced the conservatives in early 2000, then exploded when Princess Pelosi and the entitlement kings on the left took BOTH houses of Congress in 2006.

If you want balanced budgets, kick out the Socialist/Democrats and liberal Republicans, replace them with Conservatives.

By the way, do you think Lord Obama will EVER have a budget? It's been years since the federal gubbermint operated with one. Seems like Lord Obama doesn't want to be constrained to ANY budget.

Jonah Goldberg: Bush prescient in ‘compassionate conservative’ approach

Compassionate conservatism increasingly faded from view after 9/11. Bush ran as a war president first and a compassionate conservative at best second in 2004. Still, it’s worth remembering that Bush won a staggering (for a Republican) 44 percent of the Hispanic vote. Mitt Romney got 27 percent.

Moreover, according to exit polls, Romney decisively beat Barack Obama on the questions of leadership, values and economic expertise but was crushed by more than 60 points on the question of which candidate “cares about people like me.”

I still don’t like compassionate conservatism or its conception of the role of government. But given the election results, I have to acknowledge that Bush was more prescient than I appreciated at the time.

Morning Folks,

Oct....can't recall all the Doctor visits but I shopped around for bargins and took the most expensive ones.
Nov....Dentist, error, I pay for that myself. To be honest dentist's are a rip off of Medicare funds. It's really just a scam, I've done my best to get it cut out.
Nov. 25th. Look out, I blew the budget wide open. Had blown out blood vessels in the esophogus and gut, not a preety site. Wife switced hats to abulance driver. She broke the record from here to there. Decided I was not done tossing up blood and headed to the Lav. Wife in hot persuit with wheel chair. In the middle of a big purge I kinda asked her to get someone to help. She only heard help and thought this would be a good time to wipe my mouth. Bad Idea, never block the exit in the middle of a blood vomit. Enter a real nurse wisking me off to behind the curtains and leaving the Men's Room looking like a Crime scene.
About that time my heart thought it was a good time to just quiver, not good for pumping blood. Long story short, heart got back into rythem, 2 blood transfusions, into the operating room, banded off 5 vessels.
I'm worth it folks, I'm worth it!
Today is some heart expert that will work on the heart quiver issue. Looks like an upgrade to a defib.
Keep smiling! Can someone lead a hand, this cross is getting heavy.
Be nice ifn the ECONOMY would allow fer it again. SOME of us DON'T like seeing our LOVED ones especially, have to SUFFER burdens of OTHERS crosses of their OWN doings especially!!!
