You miss the point. Obama did not vote to pass a ban on partial birth abortions while in the Illinois Senate. He was one of only a few who voted present instead.

Which is tantamount to voting "no".

He also made a statement on the Illinois Senate floor essentially saying the Born Alive Act would put the mother's decision to have an abortion in question if a baby born alive received medical attention.

He voted present on this vote as well.

Over the course of the 2012 election season, evangelical politicians have put their community’s hard-line opposition to abortion on dramatic display.

Missouri Rep. Todd Akin claimed “legitimate rape” doesn’t result in pregnancy. Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock insisted that “even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”

While these statements have understandably provoked outrage, they’ve also reinforced a false assumption, shared by liberals and conservatives alike: that uncompromising opposition to abortion is a timeless feature of evangelical Christianity.

The reality is that what conservative Christians now say is the Bible’s clear teaching on the matter was not a widespread interpretation until the late 20th century.

As a conservative Republican I am begging you to give President Obama and those that voted for him everything they want.

They want higher taxes on the rich and companies, give it to them.

They want higher capital gains taxes that will hurt their investments, give it to them.

They want a system that will make Medicare insolvent in 2024 and Social security insolvent soon after that, give it to them.

They want policies that will lead to constant double digit unemployment for minorities and young people, give it to them.

They want an educational system that entraps the poor in failing schools, give it to them.

They want higher energy prices, give it to them.

They want to spend trillions fighting global warming while China and India continue to tap oil and coal, give it to them.

They want $20 trillion plus in debt, give it to them.

They want the Obamacare penalties to kick in next year, give it to them.

They want a larger more powerful Washington DC, give it to them.

They want a more secular society that is more hostile towards religion, give it to them.

They want a more “fair” society run by bureaucrats, give it to them.

They want socialist cronyism, give it to them. They want to go down the road of Europe, give it to them.

Give it to them and let’s find out once and for all who is right. If we are right, they will have no one to blame but themselves and maybe we will finally get true change in this country and maybe we will finally get true change in the Republican party and have a real choice in the years to come.

If we are wrong, then so be it. I will gladly repent from my evil conservative ways and become a socialist, I mean Democrat.

It does if it is a partial birth abortion. A partial birth abortion is defined as a procedure in which the person performing the abortion "deliberately and intentionally vaginally delivers a living fetus until, in the case of a head-first presentation, the entire fetal head is outside the body of the mother, or, in the case of breech presentation, any part of the fetal trunk past the navel is outside the body of the mother." In conlusion, killing an infant whose life is beyond 26 weeks certainly can fall under the auspice of partial birth abortion.
